  1. May Co. building owners eye parking conversion; cars could fill 4 floors of historic Cleveland store CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Banking on demand from the casino and other downtown projects, the owners of the May Co. building hope to turn four floors of the historic department store into a parking garage. For years, developers and architects have eyed the eight-story building, at 200 Euclid Ave., for apartments, hotel rooms, offices and entertainment venues. Now plans submitted to the city of Cleveland show another proposal: Nearly 750 parking spaces, between ground-floor retail and upper floors that might become housing and offices. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/02/may_co_building_owners_eye_par.html
  2. Idk even know what I would do if this was accepted. Im actually kind of pissed it hasn't already been shut down.
  3. Haha. Abuse of power. Ever consider running for office?! ;)
  4. A couple edited pictures thanks to a friend of mine.
  5. I dont get why they dont just build a parking garage on the large grass lot south of the gateway garage or whatever its called.

  7. I really wish only the middle would be converted and the Euclid and Prospect side converted into apartments or updated offices, with ground level retail on both sides, like someone suggested earlier. They could rebuild the current may company garage and have that be the entrance for both. If windows are removed, and even if parking takes up the sides, and excuse me for the language, but then this planning commission/city is fucking joke. Want to see what a pretty building looks like as a parking garage? Here, its better than the average parking garage but it still aint pretty and definitely not desirable or even acceptable for the May Company building with its location and history. http://g.co/maps/3k79x
  8. Case cures Alzheimer's! CSU cures Cancer! Whats next?! :)
  9. The money would have been spent somewhere else so Im glad we got it. I dont necessarily agree with it but if someone is going to get the money it might as well be us.
  10. But its not all the parents fault. I know a child who went to charter school and was a slow learner. In second grade the very involved mother switched the child into CMSD for a reason I cannot remember, and the child had to skip to the fourth grade because of his level of intelligence. So the standard of knowledge for a second grader at the charter school was equal to the standard of knowledge of a fourth grader at CSMD.
  11. Lazy Scranton Music Video- The Office Thanks for sharing. Nicer than I had expected.
  12. Im glad they are atleast trying instead of just sitting around and letting things continue as they are, which is failing.
  13. That plan doesn't sound that bad. The system is clearly broken. I think its better then leaving things as they are.

  17. I agree big time with the neighborhood stores. Verizon doesnt fit this for me though. Thats like a once every two years type thing.
  18. I feel like a Verizon store is a waste of space there. Wish something better would have gone in there.
  19. Someone needs to get over there and take some skyline shots! ;) From river silt to natural habitat, Dike 14 officially opens as Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve: Michael K. McIntyre's Tipoff CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The 88-acre urban wildlife habitat on the Lake Erie shoreline formerly known as Dike 14 will officially open this afternoon as the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve. Hours are dawn until dusk. No box office. Parking available. No advanced notice necessary. Just show up to the preserve, adjacent to Gordon Park, walk the 1.3-mile looped trail, enjoy the variety of plants, birds and views, particularly from the "beak" that points toward the Cleveland skyline. Today's ribbon-cutting is the result of decades of work, beginning with the first Cuyahoga River dredgings deposited there in 1976 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. http://www.cleveland.com/tipoff/index.ssf/2012/02/from_river_silt_to_natural_hab.html
