  1. I hear the hosting a Superbowl argument too much as a reason to build a roof. I think the using it over 200 times a year compared to 10 is a better point to make. Yes the NFL might reward us with a superbowl for building a dome, but we still wouldn't be part of the rotation, just like Detroits not. It would be a one time thing, and definitely not worth the $80+ million for just one game.
  2. I heard about that a few months back. People were saying Joe Cimperman was pushing hard for it.
  3. ^ Looks like the first phase wont touch those buildings quite yet. The art building in my opinion is no loss.
  4. Yes lol, I forgot to post it earlier yesterday. Im not sure what I think. I heard he never called plays. First he was a QB coach, then an offensive coordinator, but one who didn't call the plays. Then a head coach as we all know. So im not really sure what to expect.
  5. Hahaha that was some bad luck! Hopefully th inside blew him away enough to forget that lol
  6. @KJP, for an update... Took this over a week ago. Never got around to posting it.
  7. You are really concerned about the 15 or so handicap spaces? That lot was always intended to be temporary. OH GOD!!!! I hope your joking! There is no need for a large parking garage fronting euclid, or another large parking garage at all really. Secondly we do NOT need a skywalk crossing Euclid Avenue! Also, did this real quick on google maps. South Garage is actually more convient in most situations. http://g.co/maps/ur42n
  8. Video of the Bus and bus driver stepping out and yelling at the press. http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2012/01/27/cincinnati-bus-crash-during-news-conference.html
  9. ^ ARTIFICIAL LIMBS! LEGS! ARMS!
  10. Its mainly just people stuck in their ways. Next year a new freshman class will arrive, never accustomed to parking north of chester, and the South Garage will be just part of their experience, and they wont think anything of it. This will continue for the next couple years. Older students will either continue to bitch, or just adjust. But eventually they will all graduate, transfer, or drop out and the issue will die.
  11. I think the building is quite iconic. While driving west towards downtown on the freeway, you make the bend around the plant and you get your first great view of the skyline. Traveling east away from downtown, you see the massive plant in the distance straight ahead, which can look quite amazing. If you really focus on it, it looks larger than life from a distance.
  12. If CSU was actually completely disregarding, and ignoring the needs of their commuters, which most of their current students are, then yes, I would agree with you that it is a problem. But they aren't demolishing all their garages, and telling the majority of their students to deal with it and find parking elsewhere, move, or take the bus. Most of their students still have access to skywalk connected garages, right on campus. The rest can park in a brand new garage, only a short distance from the student center, which is connected with skywalks to pretty much every other building. Also in the near future, the viking hall site may be redeveloped and the South Garage will be even more convient to many additional students, who will prefer parking there. Also I said before, the south garage is served by the free trolley which drops students off right at the students center's, law building's and urban affairs buildings doors. Which basically also serves the main classroom, music building, business building, and then all other buildings further with the use of the interlinks.
  13. Also most colleges dont have 4 large parking garages and several lots. So they aren't ignoring the commuters. CSU will always have a large commuter base, but that doesn't mean they have to ignore people who want to live on campus. Why not have 15,000 commuters, and 15,000 residents? That's more of a benefit to the community and CSU then completely ignoring residents. Edit: I believe there are actually more than 4 garages. Only four are open to commuters though. I believe there is a garage under the Main Classroom, Science Building, and Rec Center for staff, professors, and administration. Also there is a garage under the student center for visitors, and a garage by Euclid Commons for On-Campus residents.
  14. Yet. What about the 10% of students who currently live on or near campus? And that number is growing too. I bet being downtown is huge factor for those students.
  15. @Clevelander17 Try walking down E21st. It will make your life/walk a lot easier. The busses enter that side so the traffic is less frequent, and the path is well defined.
  16. 911 calls released in Willowick McDonald's shooting http://www.wkyc.com/news/article/227265/45/911-calls-released-in-Willowick-McDonalds-shooting-
  17. ^ I believe they decided to just stick with the blueskin :-P
  18. I unfortunately went into a Nordstrom Rack once. I saw an item that had a sticker that said, "Total savings of $0" And then larger, "Thats a 0% Savings!" Or something along those lines. I originally saw a different one was $1 off for a 2% savings!, and thought is was funny, but when I saw the 0% savings one, I couldn't help but laugh.

The Captains are Class A and play in a $22 million, full size stadium that holds over 7000 people. I dont thinks thats in their plans anyways. The lot is already small and misshaped to begin with and they propose adding a "community building with a museum, a youth baseball diamond and a field for football and soccer. If bids are low enough, the city could add a pavilion and splash park." No way a minor league stadium can function with all of those other uses listed above on such a small lot.
  20. There is NO parking problem at Cleveland State. The south garage is not far away or a hassle. People cant walk a tenth of a mile?! The damn lots are further from the student center than even the middle of the northern lots on chester. And the same distance to just get inside any building. The transit center isn't that busy that it would warrant any safety concerns. The walkway of the transit center is well defined and not intimidating one bit. And for the guy who wants a parking lot not that far from campus, with shuttle service...WAKE UP! The south garage, not that far from the central campus, has access to the free trolly and indoor heated waiting areas who's first stops are the STUDENT CENTER, LAW BUILDING, and URBAN AFFAIRS BUILDING! I mean come on! And the south garage keeps your car dry and snow free. I bet that person on crutches would love having to balance and move around scraping snow and ice off his car. If only they used the south garage!

You already have the captains close by that can barely draw a crowd after the excitement died down after the first couple years. I think its a stretch to think that League Park with its location, size, and lack of parking could even be in the thoughts of any minor league team. I would love to see it happen, but dont think its realistic. Again you already have a brand new, full size stadium with parking a few miles east. Without the history though, whats left of it atleast.
  22. This is the same quality as a post on Cleveland.com. You have to read the whole thing, its short dont worry. CSU parking changes unfair Recently, in an effort to make more money, a greedy higher-up of Cleveland State University ordered for two on-campus parking lots to be permanently destroyed only to make way for Viking Village—apartments and retail space. This enrages me and many other commuters. CSU, why are you charging students the same ridiculously high price of $205.25 for a product you're not even capable of delivering? I asked a woman who worked for the parking department and she told me "Yes, all of the lots fill up quickly, but there's always parking at the South Garage. Just park in the South Garage." http://www.csucauldron.com/opinion/csu-parking-changes-unfair-1.2748038#.TyCee-NWp8s

^ What places are really within walking distance from the Gold Coast, besides the Cleveland side of Clifton, and West 17th, both of which are a good distance walk from the western and northern ends of the neighborhood and have limited choices. And besides that, West 17th is just a fast food/suburban mess in my opinion. Im surprised you havent chosen to live in a neighborhood more connected to rail KJP, such as Ohio City, Shaker Square, Little Italy, or even downtown. Especially now that you work downtown!
  24. ^ No im not, and im not certain what the ToCleveland is looking for. It does claim an updated bath. Maybe atleast worth looking at possibly. I know it can be hard, so instead of just naming neighborhoods, im trying to atleast give them a look at some available properties. ToCleveland, the best way to look at Little Italy properties is to either walk or drive through the neighborhood and look for "For Rent" signs. I also heard of people going through the church to look for some as well. Most properties there you wont find online. Other neighborhoods you will have a better chance of finding apartments online. I agree with Hts121 that living on the westside neighborhoods dont really have any additional benefits, and will just be further from your work.
