  1. Everything north of Lake is pretty safe.
  2. Thanks for the response. Im not speaking of CSU students though. It is filled up before even reaching CSU's central campus.
  3. The west side is going to face some obstacles in the years to come. Its not on the right track overall. The city really needs to hope Detroit Shoreway, Ohio City, and Tremont keep progressing, which I believe they will. One thing that will make it somewhat harder is if the surrounding neighborhoods continue to get worse. Also the city needs to see continual gains/steadiness in Edgewater, Little Italy, University Circle, and Shaker Square.

  5. More pictures of Public Square before the Terminal Tower Complex wiped out half of it. I kind of wish the same design would have been built north of Mall C. Anyways looking at these pictures and then looking at the square really makes me feel the square is too far gone. Most of the buildings add nothing to the square, and give no or little chance at any retail space. The skyscraper helped kill the square. And this one I previously posted.
  6. I think we are at 66 currently.
  7. Crime always goes up big time during the holidays
  8. Wasn't the purpose of the E-Line and B-Line to help move downtown residents, workers, and visitors around to different restaurants, businesses and attractions? Or something like that? Im not sure if the east side transit center has had a positive or negative effect on the E-Line. From my experience, the E-Line is almost full the second it leaves the transit center and begins its journey heading west. It provides for a very uncomfortable ride and may turn some people away who are actually using it to get around to different businesses, not just a straight route to Tower City/Public Square. The ride used to be much more comfortable/enjoyable before the transit center was built. I have been a little disappointed the last several times i've rode it. I used to ride it almost everyday. So yes the ridership must be up, but its not serving the purpose it was created for. Havent been on the B-Line lately though. Any thoughts on this line? Since it does not reach the transit center has its service and riders remain the same?
  9. So was that it then?
  10. ^Nice article, terrible comments.
  11. Actually it is probably somewhere around what it was last year, what is way lower than years prior.
  12. ^ Thank god none were fatal. They did seem to all have a connection with the shooter though.
  13. This thread technically should have very little use. We have threads for pretty much everything up and down Euclid Avenue. 14. This time in Edgewater... Police in Cleveland and East Cleveland seek suspects in Thursday evening homicides CLEVELAND -- Police in Cleveland and East Cleveland were involved Thursday night in two unrelated homicide cases. Cleveland police were notified at 5:38 p.m. of a 49-year-old male stabbed numerous times in the neck and back. When police arrived at an apartment on Lake Avenue near West 101st Street, police spokesman Sgt. Sammy Morris said the man was already dead. Morris said a neighbor called police after attempting to contact the victim. The neighbor entered the apartment and found him stabbed. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/12/police_in_cleveland_and_east_c.html
  15. He said 70 to 80 units, so I doubt it. But time is running out :|
  16. And there also is that salon that takes up several storefronts, so it can be done.
  17. Yeah it could be moved. And that is hilarious. But yeah my girlfriend said something about the RTA and she was like "whats rta?" So of course she had no idea what the healthline was either. The week before someone else asked my girlfriend if the bus was scary and dangerous.
  18. Wasnt sure where to put this, but if you have a crazy story like this you can also share it here. My girlfriend is a hair dresser and she had a client who said she worked at a school in Cleveland. My girlfriend asked where and she said its on West 25th street across from the Westside market and my girlfriend was like oh so its in Ohio City. The lady had no idea what Ohio City was and then later asked what the words Ohio City and Tremont mean, and what they are to Cleveland. She also had no idea what "RTA" was. My girlfriend spent the whole time explaining and telling her about the city hahah.
  19. I know Christmas is almost here but if you have time, I highly recommend visiting downtown Willoughby, especially if you have children. The lights are up on the main street and in the park. Looks very nice.

^ Yeah the population was at its height in the 1950's but I wouldn't say it was Cleveland greatest time. We had a lot of issues and the 50's and it's when we saw it all start to go down hill. Cant forget that the 1960 census is what really shows what happened in the 50's. People began leaving in the 50's leading up to the the 1960 census. In the 40's we saw the population grow that lead up to 1950 census. So if population is a sign of greatness(which its not) the 40's was our prime time.
  21. ^ Central has a decently dense residential population with all of the public housing developments. When looking at the location of the crimes, they for the most part, all occur within those developments. The vacant areas are where the crimes aren't happening, or at least not being reported.
  22. A major challenge for all of the arcades in downtown CLE is the small size of the storefronts. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of tenant mix Skyline International can attract to the Arcade. I was about to say the same thing. Very small storefronts. The thing I bet will see happen is storefronts will combine and we will see very long, shallow stores which have to be large draws since there we will be less total stores overall.

Nice point on the natural disaster statement Hts121. You could go even further and say we are not likely to see an outside attack from other countries or terrorists as well.
  24. The worst neighborhoods crime wise seem to be.. West of the river... Clark-Fulton Cudell East if the river... Central(Worst in the city) North Broadway South Broadway As I continue to look at crime stats and maps, I believe that the two safest neighborhoods are Little Italy and Shaker Square(Not Buckeye-Shaker as a whole), which both happen to be on the east side.
