Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
In what capacity? You'll need to expand that question. Trains on the Red Line, by hour? Trains on the Green Line, by hour? Trains on the Blue line, by hour? Trains on all rail lines, by hour? Then you have to add, are the "trains" being run in "single", "double" or "triple" mode? Trains on all rail lines by hour. And the number of cars on the train is irrelevant.

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
Why? I just personally think the silver cars are a bit dull. Red would add some color and make the trains more flashy.

Franchise Re-location
Mea culpa, you are totally right. I finally stopped flapping my, er, fingers, and actually checked some sources and the Browns arrangement was far funkier than I had thought. By agreement, the Ravens are considered the expansion team, preserving official continuity for the Browns as a single franchise, as you explained. Definitely unique, as you pointed out. I still think it's a stretch to say the Browns didn't leave; it's more like everyone just agreed that they would never describe it that way. But I didn't sign those papers. So there. The things I hate about normal franchise relocations is that they take the history and name. So you would hear that Jim Brown was the best Baltimore Browns running back of all time. And that the Baltimore Browns won four NFL Championships, and four AAFC Championships. Also Otto Graham was a Baltimore Brown. The thing is though, those players, and those championships had nothing to do with Baltimore. Those players played in Cleveland for Cleveland residents. Cleveland celebrated those wins not Baltimore. So people who think the franchise is linked to the current owner at the time is bullshit to me. Its the city which makes the franchise in my opinion. And names are often associated with the city the team originates. Thats how me got the UTAH JAZZ?????? Cause everyone knows Jazz is huge in Utah! LOL

Cleveland: The Houses of Glenville
I think you can tell a lot about an neighborhood by looking at the landscaping. A lot of these houses have some excellent landscaping. Most people would expect the whole neighborhood to be a rundown ghetto. These pictures show that is not the case.

Not the best quality video but if you skip to 3:30 it does get better. Looks like a parent took the camera at that point. Cool video though. Tunnels under the soldiers and sailors monument.

Very interesting article. Cleveland school district could save millions by moving out of its old offices, consultants say CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland school district could save $18 million over the next 10 years by moving from its longtime headquarters to rented offices downtown, say consultants hired by the schools. Renting offices would also be cheaper than renovating space in the closed South or East high schools, representatives of Weston Development Co. said. The school board is considering moving out of its East Sixth Street offices, built 85 years ago, and selling to developers. The district has not yet sought offers for its building, but hired Weston, of Richmond Heights, earlier this year to research places it could relocate. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/10/cleveland_school_district_coul.html

Cleveland Skyline on homepage of Bing
I agree. Let it die already. Its been a long time since that day. And we weren't the only city to have our river catch on fire and it wasn't the only time ours did as well. It has hurt the cities image enough. If we stop using it and calling ourselves, "the mistake on the lake" maybe future generations will never know of that Cleveland.

Not looking good on defense. And im glad we kept Phil Dawson around. I think most other kickers would have missed those in our stadium with this wind. Some nice distance as well. 49 and a 51 yarder.

Cleveland - Schweinfurth bridges
When I passed by I could have sworn I saw all cement. I remember thinking it was odd and did not fit the bridges beauty and looked out of place. Im going to have to pass by again to take a second look.

This is old but I noticed a few weeks ago that they were repairing the staircase. Looked like they made completely new steps out of cement.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino will connect with downtown, developers say CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Horseshoe Casino at the Higbee Building is expected to attract millions of eager gamblers and curious visitors to the city. But will it boost downtown businesses or compete for their entertainment dollars? There's no way to know. No one has opened a big casino in a downtown entertainment district like Cleveland's before, so we can't turn to history for an answer. This will be an experiment with a lot of money riding on it. The operators of Rock Gaming, the company that owns Horseshoe Cleveland, said they intend for the permanent and temporary facilities to feed gamblers into the downtown bars and restaurants, adding life to the entertainment district. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/10/developers_say_horseshoe_casin.html

German Village, Columbus
Beautiful neighborhood. Great job taking pictures of it, I know this thread is old but wanted to tell you that. I love all the brick streets. Adds so much character to the neighborhood. I see some streets have been replaced with cement though. Hopefully the remaining brick streets stay intact. The cement makes the neighborhood, well, less beautiful. It just doesn't fit the neighborhood.
