  1. Sorry John, I should have said anyone from a non-rail having city who visits a rail-having one says, "Wow, we should have this in our city" ;)
  2. Thats what people from everywhere say whom have visited somewhere that LR/Streetcar exists
  3. How can they screw up the operating portion at this point? There is a sound enough plan in place that if the announced number of vehicles are put in place, its not like a bus route where someone is going to decide to cut service to a geographical area. It is static in that regard. Headways are going to be reasonable and robust neough to plan your daily habits around. As far as operational snafus, at this point not purchasing enough vehicles or being able to employ enough people (not going to be an issue) are the big things I can think of that would smoosh this. There are smart enough people working on what lanes it will operate in or traffic signalling. And if not, well those kinks will work out in the beginning phases of operation anyway.

Its some help. There are a lot of lines that are around Indy that are owned by CSX, but dont really appear to be a creditble way to direct anything. Some of them even appear worn out when you look at them on google or bing maps. Doesnt mean they arent used... that was helpful though kjp thanks

Yeah, it didnt have exactly what I was looking for. It was helpful, but not what I needed. I was looking more for what the MPO's do for road studies where they give a daily count or something like that. I know CSX being a privately held company those figures are probably a little more difficult to get, but was hoping someway that there was a way of getting them.

Not sure this is the exact correct place to post this but figured you guys would know. Is there data available out there on how much rail traffic passes over CSX owned rail lines? Im looking more specifically in the Indianapolis area since that is my area of study, but it has been difficult to locate anything on this topic. Thanks
  8. I read it here: http://www.indianaeconomicdigest.net/main.asp?SectionID=31&SubSectionID=222&ArticleID=51040 Ive also been to the indot page, and they have the chicago to cleveland text on there, and the NW gateway proposal as well, but I was unable to dig up any text about the Chicago/Indy/Cincy route. Believe me, Id love to have it as I live in Indy, but if what was written in the link is true, it appears that a better examination will be needed, before funds can be requested.
  9. Newcomer to the forum here. I hang out on the skyscraper city forums mostly in the Midwest Region but thought I should check this out. Ive been digging into this HSR route lately. Did a lot of reading on the INDOT proposal the other day. Sadly I read that the Chicago/Indianapolis/Cincinnati route was shelved for a while until a better plan could be put together.
