  1. When was the last time you've been to Springfield or Middletown? (...ducks) MTS thinks Cincinnati is a backward hicksville.

I see, but that would not have even been close to the craziest thing I've seen him claim on here. My apologies, I admit I thought he wasn't serious.
  3. I hope they keep it, original or not. That is one sweet-azz sign. It helps chronicle the history of the building.

    Pretty good stuff.

^ You might want to read what he said, and look at the context once again, if you don't believe that Kasich knows what happened to her.
  6. Definitely a bummer. :(
  7. ^ I agree, but I actually get pleasure out of it because it's so ridiculous. The name doesn't really matter, so it might as well be something comically stupid. If they start slapping the name on lots of things (say, a streetcar stop), I might start to feel differently. For now it just makes the project slightly more interesting, in an absurd sort of way.
  8. ^ & ^^ I was mostly being facetious...mostly.
  9. This thread should be renamed to "Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop".

^ He does? For real? Call the Enquirer/Dispatch/Plain Dealer!!! :)
  11. Hahaha, thanks for that, Sherman.
  12. J-meck, it would be interesting if you could point out a few (old) times where the Enquirer came out on the wrong side of history.
  13. Considering the suck-ass service Cincinnati gets, it's surprising the numbers are so high. 14228 passengers/(52 weeks * 3 days the Cardinal runs) = 91 people traveling on each day the Cardinal comes through. 91 / 2 Cardinal trains (to CHI and DC) = 45.5 people from Cincy on each train, arriving in the middle of the night. Quite impressive, IMO.

Who is attacking Kasich by claiming he is gay? I saw an article from 1996, but how is it relevant now? Scrabble's overreaction is so insane, I might wear it for Halloween.

^ You act like there's no middle ground. The offense need not carry the same weight as a DUI.

Snubbing NPR at this moment, just after the Juan Williams firing, is a great play to Kasich's fan club.
  17. ^ I really wish you wouldn't indent like that; it makes reading your posts a bit of a chore. "The good news is that Over-the-Rhine is finally starting to look up, after so many years of neglect. Is this the start of something new, or too little too late? I don't know." We need to take bold steps to ensure it is not "too little, too late". Cincinnati will not reach its potential without taking bold steps. As far as risks go, the streetcar is pretty low-risk. The model has proven a success everywhere it's been implemented. If you accept that "business as usual" is not a recipe for success, then the streetcar project is a very easy one to support. The saying goes: "Better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all." You yourself acknowledge that we are around the point of "too late". We must try.
  18. It already looks retro, so I wouldn't expect it to age too badly. I actually like it. But I reserve the right to change my mind.
  19. Copenhagen (or another sizable Nordic city), London, Amsterdam, Basel (or another sizable Swiss city), Cincinnati -- I know it's a foreign country.

They might start by ceasing to nominate former Fox News hosts for the governorship...
  21. Very nice win!
  22. ^ Why do all that when we can expand 75 to four lanes and build a new bridge?
  23. If it's the birdie I'm thinking of, you might mean "big", not "little"!

Ohio should consider taking Pittsburgh by force. It's attainable geographically, and would make a great addition to our 3C-caliber portfolio.
  25. ^ It's cincyimages.com. Jayson told me he is working on it. Hopefully, it'll be fixed soon. (Apparently, someone hacked his site.)
