2010 Gubernatorial Election
Web polls are worthless, and not at all newsworthy. This is a poll of registered voters -- a scientific poll, conducted by a polling agency.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
The bird may supply sufficient constrast to make the cage visible. Perhaps we could use the sculpture contest from the casino money to get a nice big bird...

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^ Thanks, I was wondering too! That sounds like a pretty owesome spot for the maintenance facility. Maybe they'll make it permanent.

Bike to work? Show of hands?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
I wish Strickland could successfully engage the freight companies who use these lines. If they would be willing to pony up some cash for annual 3C operations, they could get some stellar track improvements. And the major talking point opponents use (perpetual operations costs) would look even more absurd and insignificant. Are the freight companies really content to watch this thing die? There's probably a lot going on behind the scenes, but it seems like they would have a lot of power to help make this happen. Maybe they're waiting till the 11th hour, figuring they could negotiate with either Strickland or Kasich. With a little investment in the future, even more upgrades would likely fall into place down the road.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
Cincinnati makes the "Road Rage Capitals of the U.S." list, while apparently Cleveland scored as the second-least road ragey. http://editorial.autos.msn.com/slideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=1164137&icid=autos_1604>1=22010#10 More Cincinnati residents surveyed by AutoVantage admitted to sending text messages or e-mails while driving than anywhere else in the country, except for Phoenix, which tied Cincinnati in this category. They also copped to hurling more expletives at fellow drivers than residents of any city other than Miami. Further marring Cincinnati's image is the fact that its neighbor to the northeast, Cleveland, made AutoVantage's list for the opposite reason: It has the second-least amount of road rage in the country.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
The invisible tiara makes me imagine what the building would look like if it continued to narrow with Art Deco-y rectangular angles until it came to a point of some kind. Perhaps (definitely?) better than with the tiara.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Everyone hypes up Vine, but IMO Main is nicer. Maybe because it feels more neighborhoody since it's not a major thoroughfare. Is it narrower? That could be it.

What do you think his motivation is to say what they quote?

Cincinnati: State of Downtown
Everyone talks about losing business to KY, but this will go under the radar. If a similar move were in reverse, it would be all over the Cincinnati.com's front page. Regionally, it is zero-sum. So not a big deal, overall. They aren't even moving out of the urban core. A small win for Cincinnati proper and Ohio.

I've heard they were talking about making people sign for things with dextromethorphan. Haven't heard of anyone actually doing it, though.
