  1. Edited this list, so you can quickly copy it into the "To:" field on an email and just send a quick "Thank You"
  2. Sucks, but the stakes were higher for us.
  3. Neither do we :D Who Dey
  4. This. Don't be overly confident this is the end, people. We've seen a ton of "ends" to this.
  5. Yes, THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!! Pat yourselves on the back.
  6. She is AMAZING. We are so fortunate to have her. Wendell Young and Chris Seelbach are also great. And PG has his moments, when he's not trying to be overly diplomatic.
  7. Ha, the 1 pm conference is canceled. The only thing certain is uncertainty. Law #2 of the Cincinnati Streetcar.
  8. For every good news, there is equal and opposite bad news. Law of the Cincinnati Streetcar.
  9. Order any hot dog on the menu, get served half a bun. No refund.
  10. osogato beat me to it. This ish moves a mile a minute. Too much drama. Flynn = drama queen. Is it normal for something to happen like the swing voter getting pulled out by the mayor during important testimony? Seems like the mayor was making a Hail Mary pass, while shielding Flynn's ears from SORTA testimony. What a snake.
  11. The wise & mighty (& mostly silent) admin speaks!
  12. It's not Carden.
  13. Canceling is a breach of contract.
  14. Can a mod please move this discussion? This has nothing directly to do w/ Union Centre.
  15. ^^ Why would you include the delay costs in completion but not in cancellation?
  16. I agree. The term "return on investment" had better be trending in council chambers today, or I will be very disappointed. Cranley assumes it's zero, which is completely dishonest. Italicize, bold, underscore, highlight. Repeat ad infinitum. Shout it from the mountaintops. And mention its benefits of ROI, including funding public safety. Building the streetcar means there will be more money for firefighters and cops. Canceling the streetcar means there will be $50-80m less.
  17. I still don't get why Mann & Flynn willingly forfeited their (bare-majority) power to Cranley, when they could have accepted the offer by Avner and the Wades to privately fund the audit and scaled-back construction.
  18. Still need 6 to overturn veto.
  19. +1
  20. So it's off the city's books. This is what Cranley said he wanted. I guess he's a streetcar supporter now. Right? Right? Yeah, suuuuure...
  21. Their talking point should be countered, repeatedly, by noting that with the streetcar's completion, and resulting ROI, there will be more money for public safety, not less. The way to guarantee less money would be to cancel the project, creating a hole in the budget and forfeiting ROI.
  22. I take a pessimistic eye to everything related to this council and the streetcar. But I don't see how this letter furthers the goal of someone looking for a convenient "see, we tried, but..." Asking about the amount of time available to implement best practices for raising operating revenue, the answer to which is a pretty long time, and the notable absence of anything about getting an extension for the decision to continue construction (as though that's a settled issue), would seem to indicate an intention to proceed. So, even with my stubborn pessimism, my disposition regarding the intent behind this letter is "cautiously optimistic."

  24. I find #3 the most interesting. The answer, of course, is roughly a couple years. The FTA isn't worrying about that. The FTA is concerned about the contract, which the city is currently in breach of, which requires continuous progress on construction!
