Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^ Particularly the people who have opened businesses along the line, for whom the streetcar featured in their decision. But I guess with the way many streetcar detractors live in the past, it's probably a lot more impactful for a former business owner to talk about it, rather than someone who has put money where their mouth is and already bet on the streetcar's success.

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
COAST is trying to walk back their endorsement of Cranley made this morning on Twitter. I guess endorsing then taking it back is their strategy for trying to have it both ways -- endorsing for their supporters but not endorsing for the many people who know they're no-goodniks.

Well, I was certainly off the mark on that one. Though I guess Defiance does have a Great Lakes accent. His isn't very strong, so that might have obscured it for my ears. Glad he's on the job. He seems like a good guy to bring some sanity to the discussion. Someone should lock Cranley in a room with him for a couple hours.

Anyone know where Imhotep, I mean, John Deatrick is from? First time I've heard him speak on WLW, and he sounds Minnesotan or Canadian or something. Not that it matters...just curious. (BTW Imhotep is what Cunningham kept calling him, making fun of the streetcar as though it were the Pyramid of Djoser.)

Jefferson Ave., eh? Nice touch.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
I could see a farm-to-table restaurant being successful on one of the caps. Put the farm on the roof, with the restaurant on street level. Put some residential between. Make some outdoor eating space on the roof among the plants.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Projects & News
Some perverse Tea Party concept equating freedom to driving at unsafe speeds. Preferably while shouting "Woo! 'Merica!"

I have in my mind that they would be at the roads that cross over. However, if possible, I think mid-block would be much better. Having buildings fronting the north-south streets would be much better for connecting the riverfront to Downtown. jmeck probably has a definitive answer. We're still no closer to solving the conjestion problem, though. :-D

With an upward population trajectory and a solid tech industry base...you can do a lot.

COAST
Right? The quote about that law preventing them from getting their message out is quite telling. And Finney calls it the most important case of his career. Their priorities are clear: to misinform the public to ram through their ideology which cannot win in an honest debate, and to milk the tax payers for as much as possible while doing so.

As the walkshed extends into the water, I suppose you get diminishing returns. Hence a big problem with the Oasis line.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I could swear John or someone else in-the-know said it was related to the type of rails needed to go on top of (I guess it was the garage).

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
Not before the Banks and the park are built out, I wouldn't think. But it's on the table. I know Qualls wants it to happen. Not sure about Cranley.

Okay so maybe I was thinking of an inability to go over the Banks garage? I know I'm not insane...I think? Lol Thanks guys.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
The streetcar is going to Third Street and not Second, correct? Because something about special track needed to go over FWW? The route to 2nd is still displayed on the city's webpage, so I am a bit confused.

Cincinnati Lunken Airport
Raising fees will not negatively impact the allure of Lunken for business travel, but adding a few commercial flights will? I can't make any sense of that. More likely the commercial flights (and facilities fees they pay) would help keep down the cost of business travel, making it more alluring.

Slimdown is the word Fox News is using for the shutdown on their website, to make it seem like a good thing.

Ohio Voting / Voter ID Law
Seriously? If I moved, I highly doubt that I would remember (or even take the time if I did remember) to notify the county board of elections. Agreed. It shouldn't be an issue so long as you don't vote in both places, which obviously would be a serious offense. Edited to respect privacy
