Ohio Restaurant Reviews
If we are going to have a review thread for the whole state, can we put at the beginning of the reviews the municipality or metro in which a restaurant is located?

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Washington Park
Might as well include all of the area south of Liberty as the Gateway Quarter (though this is a manufactured name by 3CDC, it seems to be widely used). North of Liberty is Northern Liberties, for which I would allow NoLibs.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football Discussion
I don't get why people seem surprised by Abernathy's performance. He was a beast on special teams last year, and seemed poised to be an offensive weapon once Jones promoted him. He is proving to be very versatile, despite his small stature. The ESPN crew was calling him RDA4, which seems appropriate considering his name is a mouthful. I can see it sticking. Ehh, I don't know about that. The Big East, and especially UC, seem stuck in the Rodney Dangerfield realm of recognition. Not to mention UC's lame OOC schedule will keep them low in the rankings, regardless of performance. (It is a great name, though! :D) I'm still bummed about Collaros's injury last year. UC deserved to be the ones destroying Clemson in the Orange Bowl. It burns even more that it was a WVU player that caused his broken ankle. I guess the bright side is that Munchie got some play time, poising him for a (probably) much better performance this year than he would have otherwise. Two weeks until the Bearcats face Virginia Tech, which is the only notable OOC game of the season. The cats' best chance for getting national attention this year, outside of winning a BCS bowl, lies with that game.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
That website creeps me out. It feels like all the people on it are fake.

Looking legit, once again. Could definitely be Big East champs again. Hard to draw too many conclusions from one game, but I saw a lot to be optimistic about. The biggest struggle looks like it will be Munchie getting his accuracy up, especially on deeper passes.

Rethinking Transport in the USA
It doesn't look good for transit advocates that the Mass Transit account is >50% as much in the red as the Highway account.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
With Fort Washington Way caps, they could connect pretty seemlessly with the Banks.

atlas should be able to give some insight into the whole thing. Where are you, atlas?

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Washington Park
They are alienating themselves. American/Cincinnatian liberals are now pro-business/development and they can't handle it, so they are throwing a hissy fit. Which just pushes their former allies further to the right/center. The lawsuit will go nowhere, and even if it did, people would support the new rules in great numbers, were they submitted to community scrutiny.

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
You can say that again. What a great season! I can't remember another year I have watched so much baseball. The Reds have been absolutely riveting. They really could go all the way. Trying not to get my hopes up too high.

Detroit: Transit News
Fortunately, Cincinnati's political machine was county Republicans, who are a dying breed. Detroit's machine is comprised of city Democrats. Somehow, I don't see a band of progressive Republicans coming to save Detroit. This is not to let Cincinnati city (Democratic) leaders off the hook for bad policies, but since Mallory took office (almost) everything has been on the up-and-up. Qualls will likely take over and continue in that tradition. Help from the county and state would be much appreciated, of course, but at least we have city leaders willing to fight for progress. Except when it comes to historic preservation. That oversight is inexcusable.

Cities with a square, a main street, or an intersection...
I don't get it. If Cincinnati is "rivertown" wouldn't Cleveland be "laketown"? And Columbus... I would say High Street is the main street center of Columbus.

Gas Prices
Clearly, the price increases were negotiated by the Romney campaign.

Sounds like an urbanist. Wonder if he ever visited UO. (Heck, he could be a regular.)

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
I'm guessing cheese coneys make Cincy #1. Now that I looked at the gap between first and second place, I am quite certain of it.

Once again, the Redlegs have the best record in the MLB. .603, over the Nationals' .602 79-52

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
If Horstman's hair gets cut (or he trades in the rug), does the Mark Twain expression lose its hold on the city? I think we've found the source of its power. It might be what's holding Duke/the streetcar back, too! Get out the shears!

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Welcome to UO. Sorry if my directness came off as incivility. As I said in my next comment (just now noticing you replied a few minutes before), I'm glad some people sharing COAST's general philosophies recognize they have stepped off the deep end. After two popular votes on ballot issues written by COAST (plus several council elections) have failed to "kill the trolly folly boondoggle crime wagon choo choo train to nowhere", it's probably time to focus on other issues, instead of executing vicious attacks against the project's supporters. Sane people of differing political persuasions should be able to agree on this point. Glad you appear to be a sane person.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I only asked because I am curious about the answer. If the question seemed pointed or hostile, it's probably due to posting from a mobile device and not having the patience for a longer reply. I am a little skeptical, however, about the poster's stated identity, but I guess addressing that suspicion is off topic. If they are who they say they are, I am glad there is at least one COASTer to flee from the insanity. As we all know, COAST has gone beyond conscientious opposition and into full jihad mode where the ends of killing the streetcar justify any means whatsoever. Cheers to sanity.

Why would you follow this thread, if you are sick of the streetcar obsession?

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Yea, they opened one on the OSU campus a few months back. It's a new concept that they've started. Very smart move. A truck stop oasis in the concrete jungle! Lol

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Other than Inn the Wood (an unfortunate loss) and Akropolis (I don't think anyone really went there), what are you remembering that I am not? Baba Budan's relocated, and I am quite glad they got rid of the crappy Hardees, Arby's, and Taco Bell. Yeah, it's not exactly fair to lump Waffle House in with those. Sure, it's terrible food, and it's a lame chain, but it offers something fairly unique for the area and not comparable to anything that was there before. That said, I would have rather seen something along the lines of Joe's Diner come in. Imagine if the Anchor Grill opened a second location at U Square. I would be positively giddy. And they would make an absolute killing, just like Waffle House will.
