Pet Peeves!
Most of the retired pre-boomers I know either aren't on FB or they don't use their accounts very much. So I can't complain about them. Fortunately, the most conservative and religious of my FB friends are pro-gay. And they are few in number. Are you out to your whole family?

Ways Ohio can become a high growth state.
The article is primarily about cities and it has been posted by two different people. Sorry for biting the bait.

Ways Ohio can become a high growth state.
That article is very informative and interesting, and I love the way it strikes down Richard Florida. However, I have some problems with it. A big one is that it conflates cities and metros. Many cities are shrinking within growing metros. Clearly there is job creation, yet the city is still shrinking. I don't see that being spoken to here.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
Isn't Ohio's unemployment rate below average? Or is that just in the big cities? And why does that weigh in heavily for someone who is retiring? Cold winters? All of those states listed, except CA and NV have colder winters than the bulk of Ohio. Kansas, Iowa, and South Dakota make the top 10 and have cold winters. KY comes in 2nd and NKY has identical winters to southern Ohio... Plus, notice Michigan isn't on there. Dumb-a$$ list, for sure. Really, the top 10 list is even worse than the worst list.

Or there shouldn't really be an article, since it's not news. I expect the Business Courier to be more sophisticated. Anyone here who is a paid subscriber should write them about this; it is not only sloppy, but trashy journalism.

NBA: General News & Discussion
I was exaggerating about it ruining my day. I am not even a Cleveland sports fan. More a Lebron hater than a Cavs fan, or even an NBA fan. It wouldn't ruin my day either if Notre Dame won the BCS football championship, and I hate Brian Kelly at least as much as I hate Lebron.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I think they are waiting for private developers to come along. People who want to build an office tower and/or hotel.

I think the most common reason is class and culture war on the liberal elite. They fear the city will become more attractive to a type of people they can't stand. People who would bring money and carry political influence.

Big Strong Men Will Very Rarely Eat Pork Chops.
I remember being taught it as a kid, possibly in school, but to this day I have trouble remembering it. Guess it's not a very good mnemonic device. Not for me, anyway. I just remember it's something about pork chops, haha.

Such crap to wake up to.... Images of Lebron holding a trophy. This can't be a good day.

Cincinnati City Council
He's still listed as a current Charterite on the Wikipedia page. Someone with the time should update this page a bit. (e.g. Bortz is no longer on council) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charter_Party

If there are polls and surveys about the effect of feds granting streetcar money on the reelection of Brown or Obama, I'd love to know!

Unless you are having a natural gas boom, which is Kasich's modus operandi.

^ No, the question is whether the powers that be believe that to be the case.
