Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
^ Yeah, exactly...with unigov, Cincy would be bigger than not only Louisville but also Cbus. Also, Pittsburgh, while it's a bigger metro for sure, is about the same size by population. Only officially bigger since the 2010 census, I believe.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I find the article underwhelming. It's okay as an article about the Banks and riverfront development, but it's poor as an article about what's going on in the downtown area, let alone the city. Therefore the scope is too small for all the "river city" comparisons, especially without reference to what other cities are doing with their riverfronts. Some of the facts are kind of silly, too, from the praise of the Banks architecture to the reference to Cincy as the "third largest Ohio River city" when Louisville has a unigov and Pittsburgh is only very recently (2010 census I think?) negligibly larger.

Hi, I'm wireless
Much like David said, even with an open wifi network, you are probably safer than handing a waiter your credit card.

Use WPA2 wireless security, and forget about your fear.

Metro Jobs 2007-2012
I'm here to bring civil discord and bash the two Cs I am not from. Bash. Now wasn't that civil? And discordant?

Hi, I'm wireless
What kind of router did you get? Most routers have ports on the back for the "phone" cord (psst it's an ethernet/cat-5 cable) to go from the router to a computer. But if you have a laptop I would say you are hampering its usefulness by plugging it in all the time. A wired connection is good for big file transfers that require a fast connection, but in general wireless is far superior. Why wouldn't you want to be able to use your laptop on the couch?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
If 3C existed, I think people from Dayton would go to Columbus and Cincinnati in great numbers to do things in the downtown areas. It would be a cakewalk to take the train to a Reds or Bengals game, for example.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
The only win-win is if they put their new store where the existing one is. Or if they line someone up to take their old space and build on an empty/vacant lot with urban-friendly design.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
IMO this is incredibly unlikely to happen. Keep fighting the good fight, though! Other than the VFW and Walgreen's, I can't see who would actually be for this. Including the decision makers on the relevant boards and city council.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
Picturing exactly what will be there and understanding that there will be more of what is there generally (park space and buildings) are two different things.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Reminds me of when they quoted us on Fox 19 or whatever station. Pales in comparison to what will go down with Brent Spence's monster brother.

Affordable apartments around CSU downtown?
He would have ignored my offhand remark, but now he's going to dig for it because you guys didn't let it go.
-
Affordable apartments around CSU downtown?
Then you should have included Cincinnati on your list, since it has broken ground, too...and this is Urban Ohio, after all! BTW, the Cincy streetcar thread is the longest and most notorious thread on the forum. Well, most notorious after UO in Greece.

I'm all for it, as long as these people don't start voting against progress in municipal elections.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
It seems like someone behind-the-scenes pulled the plug on the fear campaign. Maybe some of the local corporate bigshots decided it was not in their interest to have 3CDC and the city in general persistently undermined by the local media. If the city declines, their money and power wane. Why would they let that happen just so the Enquirer can maybe get a few more page views? I know OTR's progress has been very rapid, but the media has really gone from one extreme to the other overnight.
