  1. I believe that St. Greg's has a courtyard area and much of the carnival is also inside. At least for them, I think that limiting access might be doable.

If you believe all of this (and I do as well to a large degree), then it would be hard to believe that after LeBron's career he's simply going to fade off into the sunset. I see big things for him including being very active in local philanthropy and perhaps even running for some sort of a political office. Brad Sellers is the mayor of Warrensville Heights, what might LeBron have in his future?

Wow, interesting take from KAJ. Opening the piece I thought he was going to be critical of the fans, but he was really laying the burden on LeBron to prove his sincerity. Well it seems to me that a huge chunk of the fanbase is more than ready to forgive and move on, and I suspect that many of the rest will be on board when the success comes. For me, I've tried to distance myself from the personal side of the situation and focus on the fact that the Cavaliers are on the verge of perhaps having their best shot at a title in franchise history. However there are still moments when I get caught up in the "home" narrative even though I don't really buy it entirely.
  4. Well, speaking of eastern suburban neighborhoods being infiltrated and having their events ruined by a certain element, there were shots fired tonight at the St. Greg's Festival in South Euclid. http://www.19actionnews.com/story/26004543/several-arrest-at-south-euclid-church-festival

Hold on, the T'Wolves would get Klay Thompson (whom they really wanted I believe) AND Tristan Thompson, yet Saunders is still holding up the trade? If anything I would think that it would be the Warriors who would be balking. Apparently they had wanted Love and didn't want to give up Klay Thompson, but now are willing to settle for "multiple" first round picks? I like Tristan and really think he could thrive next to LeBron, but I would take this deal in a heartbeat if it means the Cavs get to keep Wiggins.

NEW YORK CITY?! (cue 1990s Pace Picante commercial) He's not going to New York. :wtf:

You mad? Of your last 12 posts, 5 of them have been on this thread attempting to bait Cavaliers fans. Maybe you need to "let it go"?

I don't care if he wears #23 or not, but it would be a travesty if the Cavaliers retired Jordan's number.
  9. Good riddance. Now the city needs to do something to ensure that the next tenant doesn't repeat the cycle.
  10. He undoubtedly made a lot of money on the deal, that's why he fought so hard for it. Regardless of whether it was going to be Walmart or Target, this thing has pretty much played out exactly as those opposed predicted. However I'm not sure the SE leaders that orchestrated it regret their actions because they have consistently lacked the creativity and intelligence to get any major project right in the time they've been running the city. If they insisted on developing this land, there were dozens of better uses that would have brought a much larger net benefit for not only the larger community (CH and UH included), but even SE specifically.

Barely, but they can play a bit better and they're going to need it against Argentina. Di Maria is out, though, so that will help them.

Oh I'm not saying it does, but I'm also not 100% certain that every move being made here is rational. The novelty and excitement that LeBron might see in being given the chance to team up with Carmello Anthony may outweigh the possibilities for him of going to a place where there is quite a bit upside in growing young talent, or reteaming up with two aging stars who it seems clear aren't going to be able to help him get any more rings.
  13. Thanks for the information and welcome to the board. I drove along East Antisdale Road from Fenwick to Warrensville Center Road and didn't see anything. Should I go in the opposite direction to really find the entrance?
  14. Whew, thanks for pointing that out, I almost said the exact same thing last night but didn't want to come off as insensitive so I changed my wording. I was researching whether or not there's a major difference between .08 and .10, and whether such a change was grounded in science or just something being pushed by groups like MADD (who have started a conversation about lowering it even further to .05). Regardless of all of that line of discussion, the .09 doesn't getting me as worked up as much as something like a .15 or .20 would have, and overall I agree with your larger point. He certainly broke the rules by the letter of the law/NFL agreement, but he's being made out to be a villain or someone with a serious problem when I guarantee his behavior is no more extreme than a huge percentage of players in the league. He just happened to get caught, twice, which my seem like it's more than a coincidence, but probabilities indicate not necessarily.

Okay, getting this back on topic, let me throw out a conspiracy/potential situation that worries me: Behind the scenes, LeBron gently tells Bosh that it's time for him to hit the bricks because the Heat don't want him back. The endgame being that LeBron has agreed in principle to return to Miami if Riley can woo Carmello. Or even if that's not the case and LeBron has nothing to do with Bosh potentially leaving, if he does leave, either way it opens up space for the Heat to go after Carmello to appease LeBron. Thoughts?
  16. Under no circumstances should the Browns cut him now. He will play again in the NFL one day and no other team should benefit from his spurt of immaturity during this point of his career that happens to be with the Browns.
  17. Ughhh, good point, you're probably right. They've been doing work a bit further east on Cedar Road and up Belvoir Road, so that makes sense.
  18. Yeah it's really sad. Besides, I think there are vacancies at Cedar Center North (and South perhaps), and considering how disconnected Oakwood Commons feels, I think that Penn Station et al would have been better off at Cedar Center. In fact the community would benefit more from that density.
  19. Yeah it was a bonehead move. And I see no evidence of that little park (the consolation prize) that was supposed to be built on the souther edge of the property.

If I'm the Heat, and I want to try to make this a done deal right now, I forget about Bosh and maybe even Wade, and work LeBron on the idea of building a team around himself and Carmello. The Heat really don't need to wait for Bosh to make a move.
  21. The proposed location of Dunkin' Donuts is actually further up the street near Fenwick Road, on the University Heights side, next to the library. This location I'm talking about isn't technically Cedar Center, it's just on the periphery down closer towards Target/Burger King. So I don't think it's the DD, unless plans have changed.
  22. Hate to say it, but there are lots of 23 year olds with a drug abuse problem* in this community. The reason we're talking about this one is because he's an all-world football player. And while I hope that he, like all other folks that are in similar positions, finds the help he needs, let's be clear, it only matters to us personally because he's a member of the Cleveland Browns. *I'm not willing to concede that he even has a problem. He tested positive for a recreational drug that is legal in two of these United States and countless other Western countries and as others have mentioned his BAC while driving does not seem to indicate alcoholism.

Listening to a national show today, the point was made that if LeBron leaves Miami, he's really hanging Wade out to dry because he opted out and almost certainly left a lot of money on the table. Is he really that cold-blooded?
  24. Instead of starting a new thread, I hope it's okay if I post this here. Anyways, something is being built on the northeast corner of Cedar Road and Miramar, but I haven't the slightest clue what it might be. All I know is that almost a dozen backhoes and other types of smaller construction equipment along with some piping are lined up on the property seemingly ready to go. Years ago there was a school/daycare there I think, but it was torn down probably in the early 1990s and the land had been a grassy patch for almost two decades. Do anyone know what this new development might be? The property isn't huge, but it does seem like it might be possible for something like another fast food place or gas station, though I don't know how that area is zoned.

Yeah I just spent a ton of time reading through his tweets since Thursday and as optimistic as I'm becoming I still don't know where his information is coming from.
