NBA: General News & Discussion
It's not like Toronto ever got out of the first round in a consistently weak Eastern Conference. Ibaka would get his 10 rebounds, though you're right, he'd never get 24 points a game. But then again, there's more to the sport than just scoring.

Also in looking at the numbers, I think Serge Ibaka is a better overall player than Chris Bosh. Four of the top six players in this series will be wearing blue.

NBA: General News & Discussion
Who, in particular, has been overly harsh on him? You're right, I haven't been watching much. I watched a bit of the Indiana series (particularly after the Pacers went up 2-1) and most of the Boston series. The only notable discussion of Jones that I recall was in Game Six when Van Gundy had his *graphic description redacted* in discussing the way that Jones had been dealt with since leaving the Cavaliers.

NBA: General News & Discussion
I like Oklahoma City's depth and the fact that their "Big Three" is almost as talented as Miami's. As epic as this series looks like it will be (on paper), and despite being a big sports fan, I don't think I'll be watching much of it. Outside of the Cavaliers, I don't have much interest in the rest of the NBA these days, especially not with ABC/ESPN announcers like Van Gundy spending so much time on-air time apologizing for LeBron Jones.

Cleveland: Name 5 things that...
Cleveland 1. Access to public transportation. 2. Attractive walkable neighborhoods. 3. Nightlife...if you're in to that sort of thing. Suburbs 1. Safer, usually. 2. Better public schools, usually (again). 3. Peace and quiet.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
Cleveland.com ran a similar story a week or two back, with Rocky River, Lakewood, and Shaker Heights taking the top three spots. The others listed skew wealthy, with a few middle-class areas mixed in. http://www.cleveland.com/tipoff/index.ssf/2012/06/infidelity_web_site_ashleymadi.html

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the point measuring these players' heights while wearing shoes?

Are there really only five arts disciplines? Also, "museums" seems kind of vague. Art museum? Or would a "Ripley's Believe it Not" qualify? ;)

I wouldn't mind being required to wear a collared shirt and/or nice shoes, but don't ban my baseball hat!

Probably not true, but I do think it might be time for Lerner to sell it to someone who's more interested in owning a football franchise.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
Been mentioned before probably numerous times, but WJCU does a great job with its programming. I usually have to change the channel when their hosts have their country or Latin shows, but most of the day (particularly during the day) the station is the AAA format which I love.

Um, these stories have all been reported in the Plain Dealer in the past few weeks/months. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/05/us_senate_candidate_josh_mande.html http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2012/05/post_37.html

What has Infeld done wrong? She wasn't even mayor when the University Square boondoggle was pitched/built.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
I don't know, doesn't basically every major city in Ohio have a "huge state university smack dab in the middle of it"? There's something else going on here, obviously there also has to be jobs to keep graduates around. I suspect if Dayton were the state or even national capital, with the state flagship university, it would be higher up or near the top of that list. Seems to be one of the common themes, more so (IMO) than just having one or more supposed major universities.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Yeah I was thinking it would be MKG, as well. His agent is from Cleveland and he's been working out at Benedictine High School. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/video/nba/2012/05/15/051512.kidd_gilchrist_feature_bts.SportsIllustrated/index.html I like MKG, but I wouldn't be upset if they didn't get him. I dont understand the Barnes nay-sayers. He is a great shooter and will be good in the NBA. is he my top choice? no, that is MKG. But Beal/Barnes are close behind. What i dont want is drummond and or someone like Tyler Zeller or Jared Sullinger. We need shooters and game changers. I like Fab melo with the #24. If we can get him and TT in the middle for years to come, it will be awfully hard to score in the paint. I agree with everything you said re: Drummond, Zeller, and Sullinger (much as I loved him at OSU). I also hope Melo is there at #24, but that may not be a certainty. In regards to Harrison Barnes, I'm just not sold on him with the #4. If the Cavs did something like the 4th/24th for 6th/11th trade with Portland that's been discussed, I wouldn't be opposed to taking Barnes at #6.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
So apparently there is a new alternative station in Cleveland: 99X (99.1 FM). I've given it a few listens and it's pretty good--exactly what we need in this town. The problem is that the signal is very inconsistent and oftentimes comes in with a lot of static. We just can't win.

Apparently they didn't visit the Cleveland casino. The way someone dresses at a casino is indicative of the whole city? Hell I wore shorts! Ha, I was only kidding, making light of that casino dress code discussion from a few weeks back! It's not like I will be going with the black tie, white coat, and top hat when I go to the casino.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I've heard some really good things about the way Little is developing this offseason. He's lost some weight and is looking really good out there in OTAs. Keep in mind that because he was drafted last year (during the lockout), he had only a short time to prepare for his rookie season and he still had 60 catches for 700 yards. Also not bad considering he missed his last season of college due to off-the-field stuff. Let's not go crazy yet, he still has a lot to prove, but I really think that he can turn into a solid contributor to the offense.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I love Penn Station, it's probably my favorite sub sandwich. A part of me died inside when Cedar Center North was torn down and the only Penn State in the eastern inner-ring suburbs was moved out to Mayfield Heights. Jimmy John's isn't bad, but it's a completely different sub sandwich. Subway is terrible, I just won't eat it anymore. Quizno's is just...blah. I used to like Blimpie, but only because they had a buffalo chicken sub that was really good.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Word is that the Cavs are trying to trade up to #2 by packaging the #4 and the #24. I have no clue who they'd be targeting because after Davis there is a big dropoff and IMO no unanimous choice for the second pick.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I actually kind of want the Cavs to get Robinson. But then again, on this very same thread last year I was saying that they should take Derrick Williams at #1, so WTF do I know?
