The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Hopefully you guys keep posting these here. It's going to be hard to keep up with all of the national media coverage in the next few days. Somebody did a piece going out and about with Mike Polk, but I can't remember where I saw it now. It was on CBS Sunday morning news today. Yeah I caught most of it live and the whole thing is on YouTube. I just know that I will miss some of the other good stuff on Cleveland so hopefully we can all post it here.

Secrets of successful inner-ring suburbs
I think the series is mostly over at this point, no? Still worth discussing. Cleveland.com did an okay job with their stories, but I noticed a large number of errors and oversimplifications in the reporting.

Dayton: University of Dayton / University Park: Development and News
I can just picture a parking garage in the heart of campus or the Ghetto. Blech. I have no idea what a better solution would look like, though.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Consistently generating a 15+ PER even in his advancing age. I'll take it. Not sure just how much he'll play, but if he sees some time on the court against Golden State, I like the toughness he'll bring.

NBA: General News & Discussion
Oh for sure. Whenever the NBA has had parity (not parody like I said earlier ;) ) in recent years, it seems to be only been amongst the top 4-5 teams, at most.

NBA: General News & Discussion
That's true. It will never happen, but I sometimes wonder if things would be more competitive and interesting if the NBA contracted significantly.

NBA: General News & Discussion
I agree. Looking at a larger span of time, it appears that the NBA has parody because of the number of different teams who have won titles. But on a year-to-year basis, there is no other major professional sports league where at the beginning of the season so few teams truly have a shot a winning it all.

No and I'm really just busting your chops at this point. I've heard some chatter about signing J.J. Hickson as a backup center. Hopefully that happens.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
PHS, man, you gotta work on your quoting skills. Anyways, I would say that all of the 3 Cs have rivalries with one another, though the Cleveland-Cincinnati rivalry probably has the deepest roots.

NBA: General News & Discussion
Of course I'm not serious. I like Mike Brown, but I wouldn't say he's an upgrade. I hope you're right on the second point.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
So, yes, he's a professional basketball player.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
What route would you have taken? Maple Heights to UC is still going to be a challenge even with the OC. There is an abundance of land and space waiting to be redeveloped or "gentrified" within a 10 minute drive in any direction of University Circle. We should not be spending hundreds of millions of dollars to bend over backwards to cater to those that have chosen to live far from UC. Different parts of this region have pros and cons. People, particularly those that move far from the core, cannot expect to be able to have easy access to every single one of this region's assets.

What excites you most about Dunleavy? His sub-10 PER? That he managed to find his way into less than half of his team's games last year? The 2012 version of Dunleavy isn't walking through that door. Nothing about the move even remotely gets me excited.

But they added Mike Brown!

Jimmy Butler?

Metro Cleveland: Road & Highway News
Now that's an intriguing thought.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
I certainly don't. In fact throwing those communities into the mix as those that will possibly benefit from this route makes me prone to oppose it even more. People in those suburbs (and the southwest suburbs) have made a conscious choice to live far away from one of the largest employment centers in the state yet now want the rest of us to subsidize a highway to make their commute easier and quicker. This thing costs a lot of money and it's not worth it, particularly when other transportation options currently in place are being severely underfunded, right?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Like everyone else, he's mainly looking at GSW. Will Rodman come out of retirement to play for them? Is Kareem available? What about Bill Russell? Durant will take the ball away from the only guy who showed up in Game 7 of the Finals: Dray Green. And KD slowly faded away in the OKC/GSW series passing up shots and forcing Westbrook to act like a Lebron/Kyrie combo. GSW is still soft in the paint. KD won't help them there is no inside presence like Steven Adams on GSW like he had in OKC. Upgrade, yes. Unstoppable, no. Dang, you beat me to it! Though in regards to your other point, Durant's presence should help Curry and Thompson get even more open looks...and I don't think we can expect them to play as poorly over such a long stretch again. Unless you believe that the Cavaliers really did "solve" them.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Or the Warriors. It's almost funny to see what's happening. Maybe Wade will join the Warriors, too? (Just kidding, he's about to commit a robbery on some sad franchise...it's definitely about the money for him at this point in his career.)

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
From what I was reading he was considering retiring this year (actually last year). It's definitely not about the money for him anymore.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Well David West agreed to sign with Golden State. That's bad news.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I understand to a degree if LeBron were doing this, but there's no justifiable reason for the Cavaliers organization to get in on the troll. And I certainly don't think that they're in the business of taking action simply to appease LeBron; they basically do what he says now, as far as I understand.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
That's what I think, too. Although I don't understand the point.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Right, but for large chunks (if not all of the Heights area), there may be faster ways to get south and west. I'm not sure it's worth suggesting the OC will be an overall net gain for the Heights communities (not that you did that).
