  1. Tweet from Alex White from about an hour ago: "Denver or Cleveland, Denver or Cleveland? Let's be honest, ill take Denver. With the exception of a few people." Just awesome.
  2. Baseball is a game of large sample sizes. I think it's a little short-sighted to expect to judge the man one way or the other based on one performance, especially when he's probably going to make another 70-80 starts in an Indians uniform.
  3. If you're a student, I can understand misguidedly celebrating such a "distinction." But if you're an alumnus, that's a different story...
  4. I've heard this suggested by other folks and I was thinking the same thing. Throw some more money/years at him and get him on board through maybe 2015 or so while he's still somewhat affordable. Lock up a few other guys and put together a core than can have this franchise competing for a pennant in the worst division in baseball and bring some hope back to us fans for the "now" rather than continually point to "next year."
  5. Playboy didn't even have them in their top 10 this past April. Who do you trust more? ;)
  6. Looks like Kasich might be serious about making this happen. Thoughts? http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110730/NEWS0102/107310374/Is-614-school-districts-too-many-?odyssey=nav|head
  7. Yeah it's over. They went 2-6 on the homestand, which is unacceptable. The Tribe really messed with this town's psyche by jumping out to such a hot start and making us believers.
  8. Yeah, he wouldn't be a full-fledged free agent until 2014. There's a lot to like about this trade assuming Jiminez isn't hurt.
  9. Ubaldo Jiminez is coming to Cleveland. Alex White, Drew Pomeranz, and two other lower prospects are packing their bags for Denver.
  10. Myxx in Cleveland Heights opened. Anyone check it out?
  11. Come on, he's not at all terrible. That's a pretty good ERA and his win-loss record is really reflective of what we saw all series from the Angels--their inability to score runs.
  12. Huge break for Ohio State. No "lack of institutional control" or "failure to monitor" means that they likely won't end up with a bowl ban.
  13. I can't get really excited about it because, from everything I've heard, I expect that the Browns will be sitting on their hands.
  14. That's not really a surprise, but I wonder what ever came of the insanity plea attempt? Also weren't there members of the victims' families that didn't want to see him get the death penalty?
  15. I didn't remember him playing here in 2003-05. Guess he didn't make too big of an impression. Too bad he did his best work in St. Louis right after he left CLE, and his stats show he's on the downside of his career. Sad that his .244 BA would be an improvement for this outfield, though I do like that he has 11 HR and 61 RBIs so far. I vaguely remember him from that time period, but you're right, he's done nothing while in a Tribe uniform, and it's likely to remain that way if he comes back.
  16. I could be wrong, but I believe that Whole Foods used to have a front entrance, but it's been closed off.

    Zach Reed...lolz...
  18. Ryan Ludwick? Yawn. They better add an arm, too.

I can't wait to see what kinds of inflammatory ads the pro-SB5 crowd is going to come up with to try to close that gap.
  20. If by 'they' you mean the City, keep in mind that University Square is in UH and this development is in SE. SE's motive is to increase revenue through business and property taxes. It gets nothing from US, full or not. Another interesting thing here is that I believe SE has been trying to convince CH-UH to throw more tax abatements to the developer. That part of South Euclid is the only part of the city that is located in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District.
  21. I beg to differ! A THE Nice House in Beachwood But yeah, after this one, it'd be hard to find another. (Although I think the clubhouse at Canterbury is technically in Beachwood, even though some parts of the course are in Shaker Heights.) Funny, I've noticed that house before, too, and that's immediately what I was thinking of. Seems out of place there.
  22. Somehow Detroit just keeps on losing and this club is still in first place for another day. That said, I almost can't take it anymore. I love the Tribe, but these close/late losses are too frustrating to watch on a daily basis. Especially as the front office stands by and watches as outfielder after outfielder goes down.
  23. What are you talking about?! Perez put some heat behind the bubblegum bucket he launched after the game.
  24. Not necessarily, but it could, in theory, be a huge public relations gain for a city, one that perhaps could inspire other companies to consider moving there.
