What did that guy expect? Seriously. He also appeared to be wearing an Indians hat, which says a lot.

I think he was only 34? Either way, very sad.

I'll give him a chance. I wasn't happy that they drafted him in the first place, but I do like his athleticism. I'd just be concerned if he does have to move to safety.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
You're probably right. I think they said it was going to be West, JJ or Andy, and a few draft picks, and maybe some of that trade exception money, if I recall. Just a hoax, though.

Just through the grapevine on message boards after his mediocre performance in OTAs thus far.

Hollins is solid, too. Even though I said that I wanted Sessions (and I'm still glad they got him), I'm a little bit disappointed that they didn't get Danny Granger. Apparently last Friday someone put together a hoax claiming that he was coming to Cleveland, and WKNR reported it. That really got my hopes up. Oh well...

MayDay - Regarding Suspensions (Response to Rankings Thread)
I can't believe I didn't see your response to me until tonight. Anyways, all I'm requesting is that when your bartenders (? - bad analogy, IMO) kick me out of the bar, they take their mask off and tell me why I'm being booted. Right now it's done anonymously and oftentimes with weak reasoning. I was accused of "borderline racist" language when it's clear to any neutral, unbiased reader that was a ridiculous claim. I wasn't giving anyone "grief." Some of your "bartenders" are too uptight and need to stop letting other posters, and perhaps their cushy relationships with them, influence their decisions. And I have it on good authority that the first time I was suspended, the person with which I was arguing was not. Doesn't really matter now, but the rules should be enforced evenly. In fact in general, this site may not be such a headache to run for you if you guys relaxed a little bit and stopped being so rigid. I've said it before, this site is one of the best I've found to discuss issues regarding Cleveland and Ohio, but some of the "bartenders" make it difficult to have honest and thoughtful discussions. Maybe that's the way you like it, but in my opinion, things would be better if you loosened up a bit.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Sounds like they're already talking about moving Joe Haden to safety. Not good. I think they'll get about six or seven wins. Eight or nine isn't beyond the realm of possibility, but I think that just about everything has to go right for that to happen.

If Delonte banged Gloria, that would be a ridiculous reason for the Prince to leave town. I don't know if it's true or not, just saying. In regards to basketball, if the Cavs can get Ramon Sessions from the T-Wolves, I'd be happy. He's a solid young PG and would do well coming off of the bench behind Mo. And I think he would fit in Scott's system.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Hmmm, as someone who still hangs out in the WHD a few times a month, and usually late into the night on those occasions, I'm not seeing what the hubbub is about. I usually don't go to the places that have "dress codes" (I like to wear tennis shoes and a hat most of the time), but I have heard of instances where athletes/musicians who are in town were able to skirt the dress code. It's my understanding that whether we're talking about race or social status, the rules aren't being enforced evenly. That's when you have problems, because then the police have to deal with the disgruntled people who were denied entry to the club. Oh and Hts121, I love that you're still calling that riot at Severance a "flash mob." By that definition, every Friday and Saturday night when things get out of control in the WHD it must be a flash mob. Right?

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
I see streetsweepers here in University Heights on occasion, and actually every time has been during the day.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
If the traffic at the CH location keeps up and Lakewood's business is not dilluted, it wouldn't be a bad idea. Even though it is a really 'heavy' meal, which usually acts as a deterrent for me, I have to admit (after eating there) that its popularity is well deserved. I believe that CH does allow overnight parking in certain parts of the City but you may have to buy a permit to do so. I know in certain areas of the Coventry neighborhood you can park overnight. A buddy of mine rented a unit on Mayfield right near Coventry about 5 years back but did not purchase a space in the back of the building. He was able to park on Mayfield overnight free of charge but, if he was on the north side of the street, had to get up early enough to move the car to the other side of the street before rush hour hit. The cops arrive right when the rush hour parking prohibition starts. And just an FYI, but if you find yourself stuck in CH overnight and need to park on the street, call the non-emergency police dispatch line and they will grant you approval to leave the car out on the street. You're right on all of those points, and in the past I have stayed with friends in Cleveland Heights and called to get permission to park on the street. I guess I should have clarified in regards to Lakewood: one need not get a permit or call the city to park overnight. Not a huge deal, but it makes things easier, especially when you're tanked.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Lakewood allows overnight parking in most areas I believe. Cleveland Heights should allow overnight parking, at the very least on side streets in the areas that consist mostly of rental units.

Social media poll (twitter, facebook, etc.)
Facebook and LinkedIn, though I haven't been on the latter in months. And in all honesty, even though I don't have a Twitter account (and may not ever sign up for one), I do enjoy browsing there. For instance, I like to keep up with what Windhorst has to say about the Cavaliers.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University News & Info
The one that I remember most is "Memphis State University" changing to "University of Memphis." Sheesh, I never expected my suggestion (which has been made before by others here) to start such a firestorm!

Cleveland: Cleveland State University News & Info
Yes, Cleveland State needs to become more of a residential school, and I think they've taken some good steps in that direction thus far. The school also needs to change its name to "University of Cleveland, " even though I've heard that the Cincinnati folks would protest the idea of there being another "UC" in Ohio.

Cleveland Flats memories from back in the day!
Ditto on the waterside dining sentiment. And whatever your opinion of the Flats in the 1990s, they did something that few current Cleveland bar districts do--bring in people from outside of the region.

I know. If any number should be retired on the Browns Ozzie's should be retired! I think you mean Steve Heiden.

How about a #17 Sipe jersey? Or a Spielman or Bentley jersey? The latter two never played a regular season down for the Browns, but they're local boys that came home to finish their respective careers here.

Cleveland Flats memories from back in the day!
By no means should it be as dirty/crappy as it used to be, but it would be nice that along with whatever other development goes on down there that there are at least a few more nice restaurants/bars. Perhaps a few more like Shooters.

Tell that to the factory worker who lost his job five years ago but found employment downtown as a parking lot attendant who may lose his job again. Tell that to the single mom working her way through college at a bar in the Warehouse District who may lose her job. Yes, eventually our anger will subside a bit, and from there it's up to us turn things around here, but don't be so callous right now. This one hurts, and it's more than just the on-the-field aspect. Heck it's more than just the economic aspect. One of the greatest athletes in the world, a native, just spurned us on national television. There's no "getting over it." But that's just the point. We cannot pin all that on one player making a decision. I agree it was a huge f*&^ you to Cleveland and in the days that have ensued since the decision I think most see it as just that -- an indecent spectacle at best. I'm not saying "get over it" I am saying "move on". I tihnk the quicker we start to believe in ourselves the better. Believe me, I work in the service industry and I am completely aware of the employment impact things like this can have on sports, entertainment and leisure service jobs and I am empathetic to people who work in my industry who face job loss challenges. I can tell you however that allowing ourselves to feel victimized won't change the future. I respect your opinion and thanks for listening to mine. I think we both want what's best for this city. Sorry if my post seemed a bit harsh, I wrote that right after he made his betrayal, so I was really angry at that moment. I've calmed down quite a bit since then.

I've only had the chance to read bits and pieces of it, but I'm not surprised. I think in the days, weeks, and months to come, it's only going to keep getting worse for him. After the stunt he pulled last week (and the plans that lead up to it), it seems that people are no longer willing to keep secrets for him.
