Pet Peeves!
I think one of my biggest pet peeves is when I'm trying to talk to someone and they are on their phone or talking to someone else the entire time! That makes me soooooo frustrated! Also, when people chew with their mouth's open. Ewwwwwww :/

Cleveland: Keeping its entertainment districts safe & vibrant
I was just at Fortress the other night and I barely saw any police out on West 9th. Majority of them were out on West 6th, providing "security" and blocking both ends of the street with cars and vans. I understand that downtown can be scary at times but the District definitely shouldn't be blamed as a whole for an individual's actions. The police should make sure that they are being seen on both streets instead of just one area. Everyone just needs to be safe when they are down there because the Warehouse district and West 6th can be great places to enjoy, especially in the summer.

Here's a few pictures from my trip to Milwaukee a few weeks ago. The second picture is my favorite one. We were heading to the market and I fell in love with this intersection & the crosswalk. :)

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
At least we have a coach now... :-o Agent: Byron Scott Accepts Cavaliers' Job Scott previously coached in New Jersey and New Orleans. The 49-year-old won three NBA titles as a player and took the Nets to two finals as a coach. The Cavs have been looking for a coach since Mike Brown was fired May 24, ending a five-year run with the club. http://www.fox8.com/news/wjw-cavaliers-coach-byron-scott-txt,0,6190684.story

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
That article just made me so happy! I love the Amish and seeing the influence they will have in Cleveland is going to be amazing! Maybe it will influence others to start planting their own gardens as well!! :D

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I think the common thread to both these observations is that you aren't allowed to sleep in the reading garden with you junk under the bench or sit there with a forty in a brown bag. WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Guess I'll just have to leave the 40 at home next time ;)

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I know this article is a bit off topic, but I feel that it goes well with what you said about Melt being "the hot restaurant right now." Apparently, in order to eat the "Parmageddon," you have to be pretty manly. So, when reading this article, it immediately made me think of this comment and I felt the need to post it. :-) Cleveland: One of the 'manliest' Midwestern cities http://news.yahoo.com/s/ac_clevela/20100628/ts_ac_clevela/ac_clevela_ts2875 (Again, sorry if it is a bit off topic!)

Such a nice park!! I love that little garden. I also really like the art in the park across from the WSM. Does anyone know if they are going to salvage any of it or no?

Facebook
I love scrabble! I have it on my ipod touch too & just found out that I can play via facebook. So, if you are down to beat me in scrabble, just let me know! haha ( http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=53700855 ) But, facebook is just another addiction for everyday Americans (myself included, who is in front of a computer at least 8 hours a day). Although a lot of statues and updates can be annoying and you want to defriend all of the people who send you multiple, lame application requests, it really is a wonderful tool to interact with those you never see anymore, people you haven't seen in years, or to have yourself a good laugh at the drunken pictures one of your friends have posted. The wife and I have been on a major Scrabble kick, both electronic and old school board games. We are getting pretty good, average scores in the 275-300 range. I never realized how much strategy there really is to the game. She keeps beating me though. She is playing an friend of a friend on FB who is literally a genius (he is a research scientist in bio fuels) and he keeps beating her. It is driving her nuts. BTW is your screen name pronounced Katy-O? I'm actually not any good at Scrabble but it's fun to play because it passes the time and I keep learning new words, so you both would probably beat me. I always go for the easy words (4-8pts) because they are all I know, plus I just downloaded it a few weeks ago. I'm just a Scrabble newbie! But I feel for your wife because when the computer beats me, I get frustrated so I can only imagine a bio fuel research scientist beating me! haha :) But I haven't found too many people who actually play Scrabble on fb, nor have I tried it yet. I'm going to have to convince some of my friends to get hip with fb Scrabble. And yes, it's pronounced how it looks, just spelled differently: Katie O

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
You both have good points. But if they are going to get the money, at least they are putting in towards an area that attracts people and not all of the money is going to landscaping either. They are definitely going to be adding additional things to help the area out as a whole (better crosswalks, safety patrol, lighting, etc) so they are attract more people to come in the evenings so we Clevelanders don't get comments like: "I can't go into Cleveland at night due to the crime/carjackings/theft/homeless/panhandlers/etc." It's just one of those things we are going to have to wait to see how it turns out. :)

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^ Exactly! I was just there two weekends ago by myself, walking around, and visiting my favorite stands inside the West Side Market. I wandered over to the park and there were so many people outside enjoying the music, kids dancing, parents playing instruments, shopping, etc. It was such a great sight to see considering I do see much of that in downtown Cleveland on the weekends. But, if they utilize the money right, they shouldn't have to put much into the park and they can focus on the surround areas and landscaping like you stated. All in all, I'm glad they are taking initiative to try and beautify the area. I can't wait to see what it looks like. :)

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
But from what I read in the article, it doesn't look like all of the money going into the project is going to be specifically for the park. It mentioned things like: safety patrol, transportation guides, etc. I think that will benefit the park more at night when drunk people are walking to and from various bar because it may cut back on some of the of panhandlers who hang out around the bus stops and the West Side Market. But it is nice to read about how so many businesses are beginning to move into Ohio City! I tell people all the time about how nice the area is & how they should go enjoy it more. :)

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I love Melt and when I would go, for the most part I always just ordered it to go because I knew we would be waiting well over an hour for food. I love it there and the food is great, but I'm not a huge fan of waiting more than an hour for something to eat.

Coming back to Cleveland - Advice on Neighborhoods
1) You are not crazy 2) Yes, eventually. My suggestion, look into Tremont. It's not so much in the middle, but there are a lot of nice places to live over there. It's a friendly and quiet neighborhood. But I'll add some links below that you might want to check out: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814902388.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814902327.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814889625.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814632650.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814669736.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814514101.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/apa/1814428590.html

2010 World Cup
Yes, tough loss for the USA but from what little I did see, I think we did fairly well with putting up a fight. Maybe in the next cup? Also, does anyone want to meet up on either the 2nd or 3rd of July to catch a game? Even though the USA is out, doesn't mean we can't celebrate the World Cup with a beer (or water). ;) I'll actually be in town for this event if anyone is interested. We can meet up somewhere downtown (Becky's, The Winking Lizard, or Panini's) or somewhere else if anyone has any ideas/plans!
