  1. Furthermore, Youngstown revives vacant buildings From the Youngstown Business-Journal: http://thebizjournal.wordpress.com/2011/07/29/youngstown-revives-vacant-buildings/
  2. From the Youngstown Business-Journal: http://thebizjournal.wordpress.com/2011/07/25/downtown-youngstown-grows-as-cultural-and-entertainment-center/ The downtown Youngstown area has been the epicenter of the city since its founding in 1797. At the start of the industrialization of Youngstown, the coal industry attracted immigrants from England, Germany and Ireland. As the city’s steel industry grew in the late 19th century, there was an influx of Italians, Greeks and Eastern Europeans. At this time Youngstown was a prospering city of cultural diversity. Click the link above for the rest of the article. Tonight Downtown will be hopping. 7,000+ at the Motley Crue Concert, another 4-6,000 at the Downtown Youngstown Italian Fest. It is a great time to be in downtown!
  3. YNG Facebook: Our June 2011 passenger numbers are in: A total of 8,378 passengers flew through YNG during the month, a 55.6% increase over 2010! The month of June was the best month at the airport since October of 1998! Thank you so much for your support of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport!
  4. YNG Facebook Page: Our April 2011 passenger numbers are in: A total of 6,168 passengers flew through YNG during the month, a 53% increase over 2010! Thank you for flying out of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport!

That is the dumbest thing I have EVER heard. It is amazing how nobody on the left is willing to give this guy a chance. In four years you will see this guy drastically improve the mess that Taft and Strickland left him and he'll easily win re-election... #BookIt!
  6. A grassroots group in the Mahoning Valley has launched a non-profit group called the YNGAir Partners to help the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport acquire nonstop daily service on a legacy carrier, ala United Express to Chicago O'Hare or Washington Dulles. Here is our website and if you have any questions, please post them in this thread or pm me: http://yngairpartners.org/ This is exactly what Youngstown needs: It's own citizens standing up and giving it their all to improve this community!
  7. The airport is doing very well with Allegiant, which is the most profitable airline in America right now. They may add a 3rd destination from YNG very soon. For those in Cleveland, Akron, and Canton, I strongly urge you to use this route, considering the fares are very low and CLE and CAK do NOT have nonstop service to MYR.

  9. From the Youngstown Business-Journal: Link Allegiant Announces Myrtle Beach Flights Feb. 25, 2010 6:42 a.m. By George Nelson VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Only moments after announcing that Allegiant Air would begin offering service to Myrtle Beach, S.C from Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport., sales director John Fenyes suggested service to a third destination might not be far down the runway. The new service is scheduled to begin April 22 from the local airport with a 2:05 p.m. departure, Fenyes announced Wednesday during a news conference at the airport. The service to Myrtle Beach, “the golf capital of the East Coast,” as Fenyes put it, joins Allegiant’s service to the Orlando, Fla. area, which it has offered from Youngstown-Warren since May 2006. Allegiant will offer service to Myrtle Beach twice weekly, Thursday and Sunday. Flights from Youngstown-Warren will arrive in Myrtle Beach at 3:45 p.m., and flights leaving Myrtle Beach will depart at 2:45 p.m. and arrive at Youngstown-Warren at 4:25 p.m. Allegiant will use 150-seat MD-80 jets for the flights. They also announced yesterday if these flights do well, a 3rd destination may be added very soon.
  10. Uh Oh!!! Strickland's lead down to just 2 points: http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_Ohio_62103.pdf Strickland: 44% Kasich: 42%
  11. Poll has been added. Thanks. I'd love to hear some of the accomplishments of Strickland because our state is in an even bigger mess with him at the helm than it was with Taft at the helm, which I never thought would be possible because Taft was a disgrace as Governor. I supported Strickland in 2006, but he has done nothing to get my vote in 2010.
  12. POST A POLL ON THIS THREAD PLEASE. I posted a poll on this race on JJHuddle.com and I am pretty shocked by the amount of support for Kasich against Strickland. Like me, many 2006 Strickland supporters are backing Kasich in 2010. Link to the JJHuddle.com thread: http://www.jjhuddle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208198
  13. The airline I am working with is NOT asking for that $ from local agencies. I wouldn't give them any money. I could run an airline better than those bums could. You'll like the service offered by the carrier I am working with... trust me!
  14. The ONLY airline succeeding right now.... ALLEGIANT AIR, and they fly right here in Youngstown! Read This: http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/Allegiant-Travel-4th-qtr-net/story.aspx?guid={7E57CE08-50FA-4576-9759-715BB6E01784} ALGT 38.36, +2.46, +6.9%) the Las Vegas parent of Allegiant Air, reported that fourth-quarter earnings nearly quadrupled on 21% higher revenue. The company also said it would buy back as much as $25 million of its common stock. Earnings reached $18.2 million, or 88 cents a share, from $4.8 million, or 23 cents, in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue rose to $122.4 million from $101 million. Allegiant had "tuned the airline to handle high fuel prices in the fourth quarter, as evidenced by the year-over-year reduction in capacity, and substantial increases in passengers per departure, load factor and total average air fare,
  15. HAHA and before anyone asks: No this is not the carrier either... Few more days til you see that in the paper.
  16. Yes, Airtran entering CVG is like Airtran coming into YNG with nearby Akron-Canton and Pittsburgh. It simply does not make sense really. If you are doing well at an airport 90 minutes away, stick with that airport.
  17. Okay folks. I will post this because I think it is beneficial to the potential airline and the potential customers to review. Link- http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/FlyTAZ This is not the official website, but a side group started by the website for suggestions..... Please try to keep this amongst ourselves before you go spreading the news around Cincy!
  18. You folks talk of SkyBus like it still exists. It Doesn't!
  19. Folks listen. I am not lying to you. If AirTran is looking out of CVG, then I think that would be great, but that is not the carrier I am talking about. I've emailed the potential website to 3 posters so far. I wouldn't come on here and lie about something like this. And no idea where you got AirTran Cincinnatius, I can't find that on the news. BUT I can confirm this much: The announcement is being put on hold until around February 1st.... CVG and the carrier have a few more things they want to work on a bit harder, such as stronger fares, times, etc. For those who still do not believe me, read my other site: http://yngair.com The Youngstown Airport is targeting this same airline, and if you search for Cincinnati in the search box, you will find the comment from the potential airline.
  20. That is not the airline. If you don't believe me, the least you could do is PM me or EMAIL me about it.... As noted above, I have designed a potential website for the airline which I have up and running on my server if you'd like to see it. I will email the guy and see when he plans to announce.
  21. Sometime this week.. I can't say much more than that. I probably have said too much.. But it will be good news for CVG.
  22. IM me on AOL-IM at DowntownYtown.. Can't say much more.
  23. SKYBUS FOLDED PEOPLE BACK IN MAY! No the airline is not SkyBus. It is a new airline that will go head to head on 4 major routes out of Cincinnati. I recommend that if you want to fly on one of these routes, book this week when the flights are announced before Delta forces them to raise their fares. I can confirm this rumor 100%! I have talked with this airline for the past 3 weeks because they are also looking very close at KYNG. I have helped in the logo design, website design, and through some route ideas in for this carrier.
  24. Can't comment much further, but I can confirm a new airline will announce service out of Cincinnati this week. There fares won't be as outrageous like Delta's and they will fly to popular business destinations...
