Youngstown Convocation Center
very nice but i will post an article on the JOKES Running this place tomorrow. PUTTING VERY HIGH Rent Rates for any other sports team to field a team there but not their PRECIOUS Hockey team that will fail! Because they own the league. This is in regards to a group of people who bought the license to buy an AF2 Arena Football Team. but the Hockey team says they got first year rights for the only team in first year and this just kills success there.

Mustang if you go to downtown at night you'd think you were in the Flats or something.... ITS PACKED! The Downtown is something noone could've dreamed 10 years ago! Its awesome! Even my family who hates the city are STUNNED by how nice Downtown has been..... In 1 year it will be truly the place to be with the Wick and Reality Buildings going residential.. The demolition of the old buildings on Federal..... The new courthouses and justice centers.. More parking... The renovation of Federal Street from Phelps to Fifth. and the Arena! But we need JAY WILLIAMS To finish the job Mayor McKelvey has done in the city. VOTE JAY WILLIAMS, INDEPENDENT, For Mayor of Youngstown!

I am a GOP. I Hate TAFT. I'd hate Hagan more.. We need 2 quality leaders from each party, not Ted Strickland, to stand up and get this state on track. I hope its a GOP.

Ohio: Casino / Gaming Discussion
The standards are some 320,000 signatures. If passed in the state legislature I think, any city of 50,000 or more will have the city citizens vote on whether a Casino will be placed in the city limits or not. I love this a lot. I am a Republican but downtown Youngstown needs that 1 more thing to make it sweet. A casino at the abandoned steel mill, no they will tear it down and build a big one, on the south side of downtown next to the new arena would be ideal. Just imagine all those people at the casino and they want to see a concert or a game, you walk 5 minutes and you will be at the arena. Will make Downtown Youngstown to what it once was. And it would pass in the most democratic city in ohio for sure. I think this deserves its own thread. So here it is. Now that would hurt the plans to build one in the western side of Ohio on some large amount of land and the planned Ohio Turnpike Casino off of 80 in Lordstown. I personally think one in a city will be better for most towns.

© Youngstown News and Views Photography Unit Here is some Pics I took on Sunday. Great PICS MayDay! I love them all! The Former Isaly's Building. Home of the Isaly's Tower. Now it is occupied by UHAUL. It is an eyesore. I think a paint job needs to be in order. The Home Savings and Loan Building. At right it the former Masters TUX. Plaza which will be demolished for 80 new parking spaces within a year. The first Building is Powers Auditorium. Right to the left of that is the new construction and add-on to it. Then the Voinovich Building with its new Identical Counterpart (2005) The Mahoning County Childrens Services Building The Wick Building to the left and the Metropolitan Tower to the right. Entrance to Youngstown's Newest Building; the Mahoning County Children's Services Building. To the immediate right is the soon to be spot of the new Federal Courthouse. Knocking out those eyesores. Should be done by mid next year. Then Metro Building in the distance. The Stambaugh Building Home to Youngstown Best place downtown, BW3'S! The Reality Building My Favorite. City Center One. New Federal Courthouse The Newest Skyscraper, if you call it that, the very nice Mahoning County Jail. A view of the West End of the Best I-AA Stadium around. TALLEST BUILDING IN YOUNGSTOWN BY EXACTLY ONE FOOT. YSU Stambaugh Stadium The Tallest Building in Youngstown. As you can see the black half circle protruding out is the new Debartlo Club. Youngstown State University Penguins Athletics Discussion
DEERRRRRRRRRRRR. Shows how much you all know. 1. THE COMPUTER STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE IS OUT OF TOWN. 2. OF THE 8 BCS Teams last year 5 of which played I-AA Teams. Most I-A Schools play I-AA Schools. Now with the 12 game schedule in 06. Tressel thought; an easy win which will give them some good practice since YSU is like the MAC.

Youngstown-Warren: Random Development and News
That is the image from the Vindicator. WYTV:Months of planning are complete, and now a group of people looking to redevelop the Smokey-Hollow neighborhood are showing off their ideas to transform the historic part of Youngstown. The Wick Neighbors Board of Trustees says they want to convert Smokey-Hollow into a cultural center, with more than 400 townhouses, condos and other housing, along with shops. The focus will be a three-acre central park, now known as Harrison Field. Executive Director Margaret Murphy says, “Where else can you go and find at your door, Bliss Hall, McDonough or Butler Institute of Art?” The group hopes the $250 million mixed income/mixed use project will be a catalyst for other development and an example of how other urban neighborhoods can be reborn. “This plan is about connections, connections between the Smokey Hollow and the university, connection between Smokey Hollow and the city of Youngstown. It’s a very exciting time.” says Walt Ulbrict with Youngstown State University. The City Planning Commission and Youngstown City Hall must now sign off on the deal so they can take the next step. They hope to start construction in 2006.
