Ohio Gambling News
I personally like the restrictive language of the amendment. If it was a "We're going to let x amount of casinos to be built somewhere in Ohio" I wouldn't even consider voting yes.

You go on and have fun pretending you don't know exactly what my intent of using the word was.

Cycling Advocacy
There's a linked youtube video in his post, I assume you're not able to view it for whatever reason. Someone riding a bike goes over a portion of sidewalk that is submerged only to find that there's a sinkhole there.

Sit back and wait for the property owners to try and extort the county for the value of their land on Mall B and then demolish the county administration building. Meanwhile MMPI is hopefully working on Public Hall.

History Channel - "The Crumbling of America"
I'd be interested in this if the History Channel hadn't burnt me out on the two dozen "omg the world is failing, 2012 what if we all just disappeared for no reason, ohh no asteroids, polar shifts, 2012, Nostradamus, blackholes, volcanoes, 2012, plague, etc etc 2012 etc." shows that they've done in the last couple years.

Akron: Mayor Plusquellic Recall Election
As someone who can't realistically run because he's a deadbeat on paying his taxes, he doesn't need to be burdened with factual information.

Cleveland Public Schools: News and Discussion
Fabrication labs let student and adult inventors create products, solve problems by John Mangels/Plain Dealer Science Writer Thursday June 18, 2009, 5:36 PM "... The MC fab lab 'is being watched outside of Cleveland,' too, said Jan Morrison, the senior STEM consultant to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the charitable megafund established to, among other things, spur classroom innovation. 'When was the last time somebody came to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to see something on the cutting edge?'" http://www.cleveland.com/science/index.ssf/2009/06/fabrication_labs_let_student_a.html#preview This is beyond awesome. Hope my nieces and nephews or my own future spawn have access to something like this when they come of the age.

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Because shooting at CBS or Progressive Field just wouldn't look right for a story taking place in the 70s. As for the rest of the city, I'm sure it's an economics/tax credit kind of things.

Cuyahoga County: County Government Reform News & Discussion
Cuyahoga County reform backers looking for money by Mark Naymik Wednesday June 17, 2009, 4:00 PM The group of public officials and civic leaders behind the effort to restructure Cuyahoga County government are scrambling to raise money. The group, which includes county prosecutor Bill Mason and Parma Heights Mayor Martin Zanotti, has raised just $20,000 as of Tuesday. The group is soliciting from civic leaders another $35,000 by Friday and an additional $50,000 by early July. It hopes to raise at least $100,000 to collect the 45,000 voter signatures needed by mid July to get the reform plan on the ballot. Rethinking Transport in the USA
Anyone that goes up to the corner pump to fill a boat, jetski, lawnmower, weedeater, power washer, home generator, and so on. The number is certainly small, but if we were to go down this line of transit bleeding the fund I think we'd have to go about determining how much additional revenue was put in. Again, not saying it would offset the transit spending, or that the spending on transit from the fund is even a problem. Ohh, and lets not forget the guy that tosses gasoline onto the bonfire to get it started

Rethinking Transport in the USA
If we're going to start asking these questions we'd also need to ask what the dollar figure is for fuel that was for non-automotive use that the users never applied for refunds.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
In the suburbs all you buy yourself is that someone isn't going to rob you but rather rob your property while you're unaware or not around. In an urban environment you're the target because you have what they want, and not your unlocked car in the driveway, items of value laying around the yard/shed/garage and so on. For the sake of trauma the suburban method is preferable, but someone still stole your stereo or whatever.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
There's already 800 hotel rooms adjacent to the property today, is our 300k square foot convention center in need of 1600? This isn't downtown this is walk across the street and you're on the property. The cities we compare ourselves to my knowledge all have 1 million+ square feet facilities. Edit: These are actual questions I have not intending to be argumentative. I notice now Indiannapolis is being a bit weird about how they calculate the space provided by Lucas Oil Stadium from place to place on their site.

If we built an 800 room hotel for the convention center it damn well better be sitting atop our glorious new passenger rail station. :-D

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
Perhaps completely off topic but the address for this mystery person in Beachwood stands out to me. The same address but with a different APT# was used as the registered location for a phishing website that was targeting the users of my former employers site. The Thot Plickens! Anywho, how did you go about searching the company name? Like just google or what? I only ask this because given the variety of the names that you listed for the check cashing places, that it could be just pulling up check cashing places based on a cookied zip code.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
If Kasich pulls something out of his butt that isn't tax breaks and loans for individual businesses and a generic "cut taxes" campaign I'll certainly listen, but I doubt that'll happen.

Isn't there a pair of pedestrian bridges about 100m to the west of the Amtrak station? GoogleEarth shows them there, but I haven't been to that part of downtown myself in years. The hilarious thing being that the Amtrak station appears to lack a walkway to the sidewalk that's less than 20m from the building.

Quick search on Strawbridge is that he was the president of Higbee's during the 60s/70s and was a celebrated patron of the arts. http://www.clevelandartsprize.org/awardees/herbert_strawbridge.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higbee's
