Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I can't wait till Mental Health Line becomes part of the Cleveland lexicon.

Need Camping and beach advice around Lake Erie / Kelly island area in August
East Harbor State Park and Kelley's Island State Park are my suggestions for a public beach. I haven't been to either this season though. I personally go to the sandbar opposite of Cedar Point but it's only accessible via boat and has no facilities of any kind.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
It's amusing that you're gonna get all huffy over a term that the general public is going to confuse. I'm in my mid 20s and IMAX doesn't mean the same thing it did when I was a child. There's no IMAX theaters announced for Cleveland that I've seen, but if Flats East Bank gets rolling I suppose they'd consider it for the theater there.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
"They might have failed to take into consideration Curitiba has 3 million people and no cars and everyone depends on bus for transportation around town." I hope he doesn't have any friends in RTA that worked on the Health Line, because I'd expect he'd be getting an ear full or a nasty email for this.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Greener was making the argument that the only logical land use for those properties was a parking garage and not a hotel which others were talking about a few days ago. That's my guess anyway.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Put it in Fairborn, charge a $1 adult admission to the museum to pay for a trolley. But really if either gets a station I won't be looking forward to crawling between that and the Dayton station.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
They have a partnership with WebMD and perhaps have some sort of minority stake in the company, but that's about as far as "owning" that they likely go. Unless they have a significant stake in HLTH corp.

Cleveland: I-77 & Pershing Industrial Park Site
With the proposal for the new port over at E55th we have no shortage of room to put the dirt. I imagine they want to take the dirt from Burke because they know the future dredging is spoken for and the idea of redeveloping the airport seems like will be pushed aside at least till after the port move, so they can steal that dirt and we can fill it up again later. So yes, they want to flatten out the area so they can entice new industrial development.

America and Genocide
You could jump to the conclusion that he's saying that. However, you could just see it for what it is that both sides introduced things to the other, largely inadvertently that had dire consequences over time.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Projects & News
Most of the folks that "feel comfortable at 70" are just going to "feel comfortable" at 75-80 now because there's those folks that just want to go as fast as possible while limiting their average risk of getting a ticket. Really the first group of people are just "comfortable" going with the flow of traffic and will follow the herd to even higher speed. Also, of course this change will lead to more injuries/deaths, but we already stepped into the car in the first place.

Akron: Mayor Plusquellic Recall Election
You can tell the person who put the material together for CAN has some anger issues. It's a pity when folks can't hold themselves back when trying to make an argument. My favorite is the Akron Teachers Union being against DEMOCRACY because they don't support the recall. That is just priceless. He (Mendenhall) appears to me as someone who would serve more good as being a retiree council watchdog than a mayor. Actually scratch that, he's a lawyer and I don't wish what Twinsburg has to deal with upon any municipality.

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
If the municipalities' politicians are even a fraction as corrupt as the county appears to be then it should be easy right? :-)

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
Let's say they spent that $15 million more on the shelters. If someone found out that RTA could have saved $15 million the story would be much much bigger with far more people freaking out about it.

ColDayMan Goes Pyscho! (former "Stumpy Cleveland" thread)
Gameworks, Dave and Busters... gag me, what wastes of a good idea. Forgotten how militant this board sometimes is while I was away.

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
It's a situation of being between a rock and sorta hard place. You don't want the kid to be shuffled all over to different families and towns but the social part of living with gay parents is not ideal at this point either. Sometimes there are those that have to be a sacrifice to the cause. If we see more gay couples raising children it becomes more of a non-issue. The same way with inter-racial/inter cultural adoption. Here's to the future. :drunk:

Become A Republican *FLASH ANIMATION* - LOL
Ya know, the whole time while watching this all I could think about was Sean Hannity... That man is probably the only reason I steer completely clear of the republican party.

42-foot Jesus to be erected at Solid Rock Church
Thank god no one picked up on that idea... who would have thunk we would cause an international incident.

Summer Olympics 2016
I nominate that town in Arkansas with all those manufactured homes that FEMA evidently can't use... you see government waste, I see Olympic Village.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
This area has often been my urban renewal fantasy sandbox while looking around on GoogleEarth. Disheartening that it would all become industrial.

Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
awww damn... I meant to mention the proposed cctv building in my last post... didn't know it was the same design firm.
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
It's a pretty cool design, but it's just one of those buildings that I don't think will age gracefully. I really don't like the bare shaft in the middle, and the difference in thickness of the various shafts at the bottom and then onto the top really bothers me... I don't really know why though... I don't think having a more universal thickness top to bottom would help... maybe some tapering or stagered setbacks. Also, I know someone out there has a pic of one of those deteriorating communist russia cubist towers... not directly comparable but it made me think about it. But again it would be pretty cool to visit and hell maybe even live/work there... but I don't like looking at it from afar.
-
Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
I would whole heartedly object to this tower being built in Ohio... but seeing as it is in Kentucky... I say go for it... will give me something else to do while visiting relatives.
