Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
http://www.cleveland.com/dining/index.ssf/2010/07/crop_bistro_bar_moving_to_ohio.html More Market District progress, with Crop relocating to Ohio City and opening "Local Crop Market" to sell local produce and artisanal items. Also, "Market at the Fig," a prepared food and retail expansion of Flying Fig, looks ready to open any day now on Market Ave. These two, combined with Baricelli Inn's enhanced presence in the Market are really adding to the higher-end items and local products available in the neighborhood. Finally, planting began at Ohio City Farm behind Riverview Towers today, if you haven't been there to see it yet, you should take a look as it really is something to behold. We are in talks with two more potential farm tenants and the whole 6-acre site should be fully leased this year.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^Thanks Punch! The Ohio City Farms is an OCNW project to create a farm incubator behind Riverview that will sell to local restaurants and retail at the West Side Market. It is part of our larger Ohio City Fresh Food Collaborative Initiative, which will eventually include a kitchen incubator component for value-added products as well. CMHA's board just voted to allow them to enter into a lease with OCNW for the space, $10 a year for five years . . .

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^Just to clarify, LEAP is not moving into the Athens space, they are moving into the space above Athens. And please take a look at LEAP's website before bashing them, they do great work and their 20 employees will be a great addition to second -floor office space that is currently vacant and has been for a very long time. LEAP is already based in the neighborhood, they are relocating from space in the LMM building on W 25th and the Director chose the new space based on its proximity to the amenities of the Market District and public transportation (which she believes at least 25% of her employees will use from the start). Athens former retail space is available, and I have a meeting scheduled this afternoon with MRN and a potential tenant. They are absolutely looking for uses complimentary to the Market District plan for that space and other storefronts under their control. We reached out to Athens several times to get them to stay in the neighborhood, they were set on a building with parking immediately in front, something not readily available or desired in Ohio City, and it looks like they found a space that was exactly what they were looking for. We would have been thrilled if they stayed in their existing space or found another space in the neighborhood that either fit their needs or worked for the land use plans of the neighborhood.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Hopefully one of the new businesses along Huron would include a new movie theater with an entrance from the street that could replace Tower City Cinemas with a fitting home for the Film Festival while at the same time maintaining the indoor connections that allow the event to be successful in early March regardless of weather . . .

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Hi everyone, this is Eric Wobser from Ohio City Near West. Glad to see this posted on the site. Can we rename this thread as Cleveland: Ohio City Market District Developments? We are trying to move away from West 25th as it doesn't reflect the entire neighborhood or highlight the Market's presence in the neighborhood. We are working hard to move the neighborhood in a positive direction and look forward to participating on the site.

Cleveland: 2009 Mayoral Election
Duly noted Mayday, I will pass this sentiment on to the Mayor's Communication staff and see if we can get a link to RTA or even a route link for every event, sustainability related or otherwise. That being said, please don't let our transit insensitive invitation keep you from attending an event that will have great updates on projects that a lot of people on the forum are interested in!

What about Teresa's? I'm surprised it has taken so long to build that space out.
