There are rumors of Cincy moving up to the AHL after expansion and US Bank arena improvements. Cincinnati is far too large a city to be stuck with ECHL hockey... from a hockey perspective, its a shame the Ducks didn't win the late 90's hockey wars in Cincinnati.... its also a shame the Railraiders didn't pan out. AHL hockey is a *huge* improvement over ECHL....

My partner and I airbnb'd our way all around Iceland in May. Pretty much all 8(?) of our stays were pretty good. Their government seems to be starting to clamp down with the excessive tourism they are having there. In downtown Reykjavik they just passed a measure that says that unlicensed owners can only rent their property for 90 nights a year in order to stop the "hollowing" of the downtown area. Many of the towns around the country are having problems where there are more rental properties than permanent housing and are also starting to limit the number of rental properties available.
  3. So now it is basically Bunbury in OTR in September....
  4. Exactly! I can't imagine the height limit was much higher than 14 ft to begin with.
  5. Frank Marzullo made sure to point out on the FOX19 morning news that the streetcar line is affecting the opening day parade by making them have to have floats less than 14 ft tall and have tires that can play nice with the tracks running down Race St. No other logistical information, and non-sequitur for the news segment. The sniping never ends....
  6. ^ Sounds promising! They're already micromanaging the DJ selections!
  7. ^ I'm not at all surprised. We went to Vitor's via Groupon a couple months ago. There was absolutely nobody there on a Friday night. The environment was awkward and felt very dated. The chef was also our waiter. We stood around for like 5 minutes before being seated in an empty restaurant. The food was good, though.
  8. ^ The only food at Martino's I'd rate as above average....
  9. Good riddance! Its been empty for at least 10 years now and has completely fallen into disrepair. Its not a great location along route 4, but it could be put to better use than just serving as blight.
  10. What record exactly are they breaking??
  11. Eh.... I feel like the kind of beer that people are drinking in OTR is not the kind of beer that you're dragging between bars. Spending $7 for a craft beer in a solo cup sounds like a waste. So back on topic, and still talking beer.... I'd really like to see the streetcar running *at least* as late as Rhinegeist is open. I can see a lot of people hitching a ride back to OTR from Rhinegeist at the end of the night.
  12. It kind of reminds me of a jail corridor on the inside with the metal railings... its better than what was there, though.
  13. Meh.... 1 block of eyesore is a fair exchange for 20 blocks of development.
  14. I got to go into that building as a part of the Queen City is Haunted tour on Saturday night. The inside is in pretty rough shape and would need a ton of work to renovate into anything useful at this point. The plaster walls and ceiling are pretty crumbly and the inside needs to pretty much be gutted. We were only in the main front room, but apparently the back room is in worse shape. I've got a couple dark photos on my phone that I'll upload if I remember.
  15. I went through this yesterday and it was *ok*.... my only complaint is that there isn't a good separation between local Miamitown traffic and through 275 traffic, so its likely that 275 traffic will get stopped at the light when traffic backs up, which will be a complete nightmare.
  16. Wow.... its about time.... I still go here on occasion because its so close to home, but it was really feeling pretty neglected.
  17. Nice photos.... I really enjoyed walking around Wilmington.... their riverwalk is great.

Hipster in West Chester? Sounds like the start of a bad joke.... What do you call a hipster in West Chester? A missionary? A Diplomat? Hmm.... clearly I need to think about this more.
  19. They must have not been happy with the previous repaving of that stretch... as could be seen by the fact that they had to patch both lane transitions due to severe potholing a few years back. Thanks for the info!
  20. What are they doing to 275 between Blue Rock and 74? I feel like they just repaved like 5 or 6 years ago if I remember correctly. There are a couple crossovers built across the median, so are they doing something bigger than just fresh asphalt?
  21. I wonder if going up Sunset, Quebec, or Grand would be an option rather than Glenway/Warsaw... Its a little out of the way, but I think the grade may be a bit easier. Or perhaps Elberon?
  22. I wonder if a proposed Price Hill streetcar would help soften Cranley's stance on the issue.
  23. Oh well.... just cancel the whole thing I guess.... What is this latest "controversy" supposed to accomplish?
  24. Leasing fronts to start-ups for business incubation is an clever-ish idea....
  25. They should consider banning traffic through the woods altogether....
