  1. I think the rash of "accidents' we are seeing with cars hitting the streetcar is really just a protest by the masses against the current color scheme.
  2. I dont see why all of you need to split hairs by comparing whether the yellow is Steeler Yellow or some other color yellow. The key point to keep in mind is that we are getting a much better colored streetcar. Comparing it to sports team colors is just trivial and pointless :)
  3. I was not making it about a football team colors. You seem to be implying that. I personally just don't like the color scheme regardless of which team wears it. I am looking forward to a softer shade of blue/green. It never was about sports with me. Yes, I pointed out that it was Pittsburgh colors, but personally, I just never liked that color.
  4. Tell me about it. At least thanks to Cincinnati Bell, we wont have to look at that putrid yellow much longer
  5. Because idiot put Laure Quinliven in charge of branding and we ended up with "the City that Sings"
  6. Do the cars look nice, Yes. did people spend a lot of time picking them out? probably. Did they utterly fail in their task? Absolutely. This is not about football or sports but branding. Pittsburgh yellow is not about the steelers, the whole town takes on that color. All sports teams and Pitt University incorporate it. The bridges, trains, buses, etc do. We are the center of Branding, it is time to do it right. Don't do some crappy job, make it all about Cincinnati, pick colors that symbolize us. Red, Black, orange, blue are all colors that are more Cincinnati than Yellow. Good for Cincy Bell.
  7. The best thing about this is that we can get rid of the stupid Pittsburgh color scheme they choose.
  8. I believe he is the receiver for the building and was court appointed. He is a local attorney that specializes in such receiverships.

Yes, but when the winds change and they don't need your vote or don't care about your vote, they are quick to cast you to the street. Typical Liberal mantra, promise me the moon for my vote and when you don't deliver, I will be upset but vote for you again when you promise to give me more free stuff (and still don't deliver)

This means he is more sincere in his belief as opposed to someone who just chants the party line or catering to a certain interest group. Would you rather have someone sincere in his belief or someone who just panders to your interests?
  11. Cant see this idea as any more than a pipe dream. Besides a few tourists, I cant see it having much traction. How much drive time would it actually save? Seems like from Cleveland, it would be about the same time it would take to drive through Buffalo to get to Toronto. Outside of Cleveland, you figure most other parts of the state would drive or fly. What would be the cost of the ticket? I cant imagine it would be too cheap. It may not be much more to fly to Toronto from CLE. Outside of the tourist population and a few wide eyed naïve millenials, I just don't see how it is practical or wise investment
  12. Interesting article on the new market where boomers are acquiring rental property (single family houses) for the sole purpose of renting to the millennial generation and using the rents to finance their retirement. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-08-04/landlord-nation-boomers-new-retirement-plan-is-millennials-paying-rent
  13. OMG - Is this a grain silo or an apartment building. Whatever it is, it is sure ugly. http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad261/pwmcleveland/ebf/IMG_5872_zpsgyf4zs6w.jpg
  14. There is also a park of Sycamore Township located up off Montgomery Road by I-275 and Cornell Road area.
  15. They need to keep the grass in place during football season

Portman is a good Senator and represents Ohio well. That is why he is tough to beat.
  17. My biggest disappointment is that this was not taller. I wish it were more of a 12-15 story building.
  18. Many cities do the color scheme based on the various route, especially for subway systems. Boston has its trains colored based on the line it is on. Same with Cleveland, etc.
  19. Personally, I feel we missed out on a good branding opportunity for the city, even if it meant the opportunity to create a new, unique brand. The paint scheme could have been different too.
  20. Yeah that's for sure. I can't figure out why some people need to view everything through the Reds/Bengals lens. The bright and somewhat unusual color of our streetcars make me happy every time I see one. It is not looking at it through a Reds Bengals lens. It is more about branding. When you think Sh*ttsburgh you automatically think black and yellow. Many of the bridges, buildings, busses and not to mention sports teams are branded in the same color. This was an opportunity for Cincy to do something similar. So it is not about sports (although it does play into it a bit) but more about overall branding. While they look very nice, they do not scream Cincinnati.
  21. Who was responsible for choosing the color scheme of the Streetcar. Whomever that person is, they should be fired and given a long and painful death. There were many color schemes that could have been chosen. KC picked a good color scheme for their car. Cincinnati could have done so much better and done something that would make it fit with the city. Instead, some idiot chooses to paint the streetcars in Sh*tsburgh colors!!!
  22. Better than Hot Sauce Williams... Nothing is better than Hot Sauce Williams.
  23. Would love for Cincy to get a team. They have a long history of hockey back in the day. Would love for the NHL to come back there.
  24. I don't think so. They couldn't do anything, regardless of Cranley's meddling, until Paragon Salon relocated which only happened recently. I still blame Cranley. :) The city broke Paragon's lease and paid for them to relocate to another retail space. The city could have done this 3 years ago instead of trying to fight it and then ultimately surrendering anyway. The main reason that this project got held up is that Cranley deemed the city's investment in this project as "too rich" so it got taken back to the drawing board and downsized. The money that the city "saved" by reducing their investment in Fourth and Race got shifted over to the Eighth and Sycamore project. So instead of having the Fourth and Race tower completed by now (with a full service grocery store operating at ground level!), we got the Eighth & Sycamore "Cincinnati Special" (apartments above a massive parking garage) and a downsized 4th & Race delayed for 4 years. This stuff takes time and is a negotiation process. You cant just break the bank to get Paragon out, it is a negotiation process. Paragon did not want to leave, period, forcing them out was a delicate process.
  25. When was that pic taken? I love the old photo of the convention center before it was remodeled in the 80's. I remember going there in the early 80s when it still looked like that.
