  1. It is the art deco terminal where the Sky House restaurant was located.
  2. To add scale, it puts it in even more perspective when you have a photo with a car on it.
  3. Mike Rowe is a good guy from what I hear he answers his fan mail both negative and positive. The other thought I had was to maybe contact a recruiter who specializes placing construction or blue collar positions. They can help point you in the direction you may be looking for and then you can offer them a copy of the completed thesis to them for thanks and they could use some of the conclusions in their business going forward.
  4. There is a radio guy named Scott Sloan on in Cincinnati who is big on working with the trades. I even think he started a non profit to work to increase trade representation. Maybe reach out to him via email. He is someone who is always looking to promote the trades and will be encouraging of anyone who wants to help promote that mission
  5. That is true, people are paying for the river views and the views from the Celestial side. Highway views, even with the city Skyline and Pendleton are for the plebs.
  6. 30 story tower that is in the shape of a microphone :)
  7. They need to build a 30 story tower in the shape of a guitar.
  8. Nationwide and to be fair, what really distinguished it for me was how it fit in with the urban fabric. The FC stadium is pretty much squeezed into a dense area where Crew stadium sits on the fringe and there is a lot of open space especially on the North and West sides.
  9. I drove by the new Columbus stadium over the weekend and was extremely underwhelmed compared to what was built in Cincinnati. FC stadium, at least on the outside and location definitely takes the cake.
  10. Personally, I have always liked your memes because they create a flashpoint to try and stir discussion. Sometimes placing an article does not lead to discussion the way a meme void of all nuance can.

I have learned over the years that it is best not to worry about these people who may catch the extra breaks such as always getting the next big job or getting the big tax refund even though they should not be entitled to it, etc. While in some areas, luck may seem to shine on them, in other areas they are likely suffering or have suffered in the past. I am not really a karma type guy but do think that over time, things have a way to even themselves out. Plus we dont truly know all the trials and trevails of a person as there are many things they keep to themselves. Finally, it just is not worth wasting energy over something you have no control over and pulling it away from focusing on you.

The laws are there, they are just not enforced and the social media companies have a rather liberal view of section 240. The intent of such a provision was to protect them from a bunch of knuckleheads who posted offensive and openly racist, sexist, degrading, pornographic, etc. etc. etc. items on their message board and forums. Well technically, it is published material, it obviously would be unreasonable to hold them accountable for the contents of third-party post in that manner. Newspapers, had editorial boards, and they were ultimately responsible for choosing the content That was published in the paper. Therefore they fit under the description of a peer publisher. Since lines are blurred This was the clarify what was the publishing role and what was a common carrier role. Did they just start enforcing section 240 and giving the companies a choice to either choose to be a publisher or a carrier, a lot of these problems would be solved. Right now, they are playing both sides of the fence
  13. He may be working on his plans, but if I were a betting man it will involve some combination of apartments and a Red Dog Pet Hotel.
  14. The local Blue Ash Community has been anti apartment for a loong time. They had major issues trying to get the place off of Cooper and Hunt developed years ago because neighbors in the subdivision did not want lights from the parking lot or to look out their back yard and see a 5 story apartment building there. They even had struggles with the Summit Park apartments where there was no neighborhoods in the area. Part of that reason I understand is the fear that it will bring a ton more students into the schools. The problem wiht that is that the area is getting older and the schools are not growing there anymore. So to have something to keep families coming into the area only sustains the schools
  15. This area has been a challenge for the city. At one time, they had Dorothy Lane market set to open a store there but they could not get Ringo Lanes to sell
  16. ^ I think the wrecking ball papers have been signed so it does not appear that is an option anymore. They just said the Demo will start in 2 weeks.
  17. was he the loopnet guy?
  18. I would be willing to go on a limb and say that this will be a vacant parking lot in 2025 awaiting stalled redevelopment efforts and the infighting on council on how to pay for it, what to build, who to use, and fighting over other petty matters like certain green design aspects and other carve outs that are irrelevant to the project. Why?? Because it is the council way.

^ I had some friends who learned to ski there many years ago. When did it close? You sent the link from 2015, but I could not find anything else to show it is still operating. Snowtrails is obviously a bit bigger, but I always heard good things about Clear Fork (or as I always referred to it as the other place in Mansfield).
  20. They needed an extra lane in that area for a long time now.

Pretty much any Saturday during ski season is packed there. For me, it is a reasonable drive for a weekend and the kids love the lodge there. Unfortunately, from Cincinnati, Holiday Valley and some of the decent NY area resorts are an extra couple hours than what they would be in NE Ohio so my quicker weekend options are more limited. When it made getting to Holiday Valley and Peak N Peak a breeze. I had a hard time justifying going to Boston Mills and Brandywine. SnowTrails was Ok, but that was still 90 minutes away. On a separate note, didn't there used to be a second ski area in Mansfield at one time?
  22. Hypothetically, if he is cleared in time for the race, could he have another candidate in as a placeholder and take over for them if that candidate drops out? Even if it could happen, I think it would be a long shot because he would still be seen as damaged goods

You are right. Lost Boy and lost Girl at 7S are both over a mile, but they are green runs. They are still enjoyable though. I was more commenting on the vertical of those areas where I have found Snowshoe and Holiday Valley to have longer more challenging runs on the whole.
  24. Hallejuliah although he really did not have a strong chance of winning.
  25. Normally the CA governor is a check on their supermajority in the legislature and the governor tends to be more moderate than the legislators. With the Newsom recall, just think about all the outside money coming into the state from places like Texas, Florida, New York, etc to try and influence the recall results. While some Californians thought it was a good idea, the liklihood was there were a lot of outside people who thought it was a worthy idea to try now and brought money in from the outside to make it a reality. I remember a few years ago with Marcy's Law. It was sponsored by a rich California billionaire who goes around the country and tries to get this law approved state by state. He runs the petition drives, markets the proposal to get support, and pushes it on a lot of the electorate. He was successful early on but less successful now as he has been exposed. It is not a referendum by people in Ohio who sought to change the Constitution to right a wrong, but rather an outsider who was trying to manipulate things for personal gain. Do we really want this in Ohio?
