Fortunately, I dont worry about wearing a mask when I am at my desk working so it is not an issue. Usually I am at the grocery store when I have a sneeze coming on. I usually just remove the mask or pull it down and cover my mouth like the old days, then I put my mask back on.

i will admit that I always pull my mask down or take it off when i have to sneeze. i dont want to walk around with that crap in my mask
  3. I have seen that newer high end homes are designing them in their garages from the start.

I agree about Brunner. She has a safe spot now on the court. It is a name recognition thing too. Hard to lose as an incumbent on the Ohio Supreme Court. SHe can be there for as long as she wants.

Who do you think in the Dem side would provide the best chance at winning?

I think she would get eaten alive if she ran. Tim Ryan is the best chance for the Dems to win.
  7. When did they start calling it KCVG?
  8. There will be a lot of pain, but most big cities will feel it. Cities like Columbus may be better positioned since they have such a large city limit and much of their suburbs are city limits too. However, much of the suburban job centers like Dublin lie outside the city, there are quite a few more people to tax as city residents in Columbus. It will hit Cincinnati hard too, probably harder than Cleveland because you have a good portion of workers who live out of state too.
  9. That was an extremely classy move by Landsman. While I do not agree with him politically, you could always tell he was a good person and always tried to do right. It can be difficult to not get caught up in the mess sometimes but at least he recognized it and did right. On a personal level, he is a class act.
  10. I dont know how that is Cranley's fault, I thought the OTR community council nixed the additional floors. I just seems like on this project too many people have no money at risk have differing visions of what they want to see built and feel entitled to tell the developer how it needs to spend its money.
  11. Total win for Cranley. It makes those who were on the fence about the affordable component check themselves into either supporting affordable housinig or supporting the Streetcar. It drives a wedge through 2 groups that Cranley opposes.
  12. Who said it was a scandal, those are your words. I just was pointing out a dumb statement by a politician. That is all it was. It is not like he is as bad as Chris Seelbach. Landsman just said something dumb.
  13. @ryanlammi it is the cynic in me. Many times, politicians just like to hear themselves talk. they will say anything and come out looking like an idiot in the process. This is one of those examples. Sometimes, you can knock the employee without knocking the whole organization. Does what happened mean the process is broken and needs a thorough 12 step review and open plan to make sure it does not happen again, OF COURSE NOT. Chalk this up to a bad egg getting in there and causing trouble. If it happens regularly, then you may have a process problem. This could happen to anyone. Landsman, just sounded ridiculous with his comment. Nothing against him personally or even politically.
  14. It was less about policy and doing anything, it was more about just moronic politicians throwing around stupid platitudes even in the case of glaring evidence to the contrary. It was about poking Landsman for saying something stupid that was all. Sometimes mistakes happen in the process and things will slip through the cracks. In Landsmans case, it is ok to own it and not try and sugar coat over it by making an idiotic platitude about the quality of city worker.
  15. Really?? Greg Landsman said that all of the city's public employees are the best in class and the best and brightest!! I cant see how that could ever happen since you know the city only hires the best and brightest.

I know it is a long shot, but assume he gets his name clear, he has a war chest, why wouldn't he be viable at that point?

He is like a Cranley in that respect. Limited name notoriety outside of home market but a seasoned politician who can fundraise and knows how to run a campaign. Amy Action, for the popular appeal she may have does not have the political savvy and exposes herself to being eaten alive if she were to run. Whomever runs for the Dems in the Senate race is going to be a proven candidate at some level and have the ability to raise money and knows how to operate a statewide campaign. TBH There I am surprised the one candidate that nobody is talking about right now that could make a run (although he will be a late entry for obvious reasons) is PG sittenfeld. His current situation is going to keep in out of the mayors office in Cincinnati, but, if he can be aquitted, he has experience running for Senate in the past, and would/could make a statewide run at things. 2022 gives him time this year to clear his name, and he already has a war chest to get started. It may be a long shot but I would not be shocked.
  18. This 1000%
  19. Right, and a few creative individuals found a flaw in the system and attacked that flank. Some of them will reap huge rewards. Many of the short sellers will get crushed. Many of them have a the ability to take such a loss, and they deserve to take the loss. Yes, there will likely be a few regular people who got caught up in the excitement and got involved in something they never should have, such is life and they will likely make it through too. The thing is, now the market is going to price in this risk, and institutions who use computer algorithims for many of their shorts, will need to readjust these to account for the new risks.
  20. Which is sad because nothing really has to happen and the market will inherently correct itself in due time as it learns to accommodate such risk. Then, these games will no longer be successful.
  21. Personally, I dont think anything needs to be done to regulate this. The market is efficient and will correct itself. Yes, there are a lot of short sellers who are taking it on the chin right now, especially institutional investors. It sucks for them but at the same time there is inherent risk built into things. This is a new phenomenon that was probably not foreseen when the short sellers took the initial risk. Now, these risks are going to be priced into the market when short sellers make the bet. I have no sympathy toward the short sellers, but I also think if they want to play that game, they should be allowed to do so. The market will price in the risk
  22. You could charge a fee on margin trading to deter short sales, but again that would be regressive in the sense it would hit the smaller transaction much more than the larger one and would not likely effect large institutional players. Otherwise, they could really get strict on allowing non-accredited investors to play in this type of market which would take a lot of the day traders out of the market. However, at the same time, it could raise money to provide some type of insurance against companies like Gamestop that could suffer financial hits from this type of wild speculation. I dont know a good answer, but I would imagine that if new regulation comes from this it will come on the margin traders.
  23. WI went blue by a very small margin, just like Trump won it in 2016. It is essentially a rounding error and will likely flip back and forth for a few cycles before likely moving more red. Ohio was where Wisconsin was in 2000-2008. It has settled firmly in the Red now. I agree with DEPA on this
  24. Indiana too. There are many ways to skin the cat and for the most part the lower tax states are making up the revenue in other ways. Florida is advantageous in that it does not have to charge an income tax because they can take advantage of the big tourism business and socking the out of state travelers with high hotel and lodging and resort taxes and such.
  25. Never been an aftab guy, but if it is between him and Seelbach, then I am all in for Aftab.
