Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
The townhouses (number 12 buildings) are already built. They face the lake with their backs to this blank wall. A row of garages.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Wouldn't it be awesome if the Kowalski manufacturer were to relocate to a more industrial area of cleveland to free up that land right there on Detroit? With views of the lake? Where all that other development is currently happening?

Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
They take a piece of publicly owned green space, build a new building on it, demolish the previous justice center, build the rest of a new justice center on it, and reserve some space for new green space and new development...

Those parcels were broken off from the larger breakwater development to satisfy some neighborhood concerns. Townhomes and single family are proposed. You can see renderings in zillow.

CLEVELAND - new Edgewater Park beach house!
Beer, wine, and a limited number of cocktails. And you can take your drink anywhere within the roped off area--including down to the beach. It felt like spring break there yesterday during the day (and I mean that in a good way)

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Hey gottaplan! I'm happy to report that you are missing a lot of stuff! 1. West 73 is going to undergo a complete streetscape this summer which is why they have left it in pretty rough condition right now 2, Detroit ave is going to undergo a new streetscape as well from 58-78 or so. Not a full streetscape but pretty nice. 3. West 65 is getting some curb bump outs that will be heavily planted 4. New housing is happening all over the place! -breakwater apts -two battery park apt buildings plus townhouses -6 new houses on west 65 -new house on Clinton -townhouses proposed next to Herman park -major renovations on at least 10 houses in and around 65/Franklin just in the last year 5. Tons of new businesses! New pizza shop on 65, brewnuts at 65/Detroit, the boiler on Detroit, Astoria 6. Tons more in the next round! The space next to happy dog is for lease, there's slow movement in the commercial buildings that house banter, the LGBT center will be building a new headquarters across the street 7. Check out the latest Gordon square master plan for more details :)

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
CbusTransit replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI believe SIDs pay a special assessment, not a portion of the property tax. As such, I do not believe that part is abated. Not totally sure tho.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
The Detroit road streetscape from lake to 52 is on the planning commission agenda this week but I can't for the life of me find out what, exactly, the streetscape entails. Is Detroit getting rebuilt like the core streetscape? Or is this some sort of half effort? Anybody have any links or renderings or info on what this streetscape looks like? Thanks folks!

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I don't totally agree with you KJP in that the idea of supply and demand would say that adding more supply eventually will meet demand. if it exceed demand, rents will go down. That said, I think you are saying that the supply still has not met, and certainly not exceeded demand. I agree. This particular tower wouldn't stop Nucleus. We will get to that point one day.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
As a worker downtown, I use the the free trolleys all the time. When my parents were in town, we took a trolley from Playhouse Square to the flats for dinner. We had to walk all the way down the hill and my (now getting older) parents really struggled. This is a fantastic service that the Waterfront Line cannot replicate. I'm super excited for an expanded method of transit for getting around downtown.

Transferred in November to BEAVOGUI REALTY LTD. Looks like they own a nice house in Battery Park and this place in Cuyahoga County. No building permits in the Cleveland online system associated with that parcel yet.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
While I feel for the folks in Minneapolis, it is nice to be on this side of a corporate merger. According to the Star Tribune, Valspar's headquarters is expected to move to Cleveland. Valspar has 600 employees in Minneapolis: http://www.startribune.com/valspar-to-sell-wood-coatings-line-for-420-million/419267414/

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
When you open the page, type cuyahoga county in the search bar. Select cuyahoga county. Click perform analysis on selection area Leave the analysis settings as-is. Click go. Turn off the point overlay (on the left) Scroll down and click 'manufacturing' (on the right. You now have a heat map of manufacturing jobs in cuyahoga county in 2014. This is a good way to find hot spots. You can do individual research from there. Hope that helps!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I was also there KJP, and I read his sorta wink as referring to the potential for the Weston development far more than I thought 'we have a Jacobs lot development on the horizon.' Nothing to prove that, I just didn't get the same takeaway as you at all.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Looks like it sold in 2016 to "paramount breakwater properties" which sounds remarkably similar to breakwater bluffs next door. I would be floored if that did not mean that it was purchased by the same developers for a conversion to apartments.

Cleveland: Retail News
Driving down Euclid today the space next to Geigers had a sign in it that, I think, said 'Rise Nation Run' or something like that in it. Anybody know what this is? Just a sign or is this a new retailer?

Cleveland: Population Trends
Consolidation does not have to mean the entire county. It could mean that suburban counties consolidate. Or it could mean we reduce from 58 suburbs to 8 or so. Consolidation is the number one way that we can provide better services, reduce regulatory burdens, and become more competitive nationally
