  1. The underside of Detroit-Superior emerged, to my knowledge, in three places: 1. In front of Bounce nightclub where Detroit gets wider (roads went around the hole in the ground) 2. On West 25th in front of the West 25th Street Lofts that are getting built (also where the road is wider) 3. On Superior avenue just on this side of the bridge (kinda in front of the State office building)
  2. I take the bus every day to and from work. And KJP, as much as imagine i will love the convenience of buses running through public square, everyone has to admit that they are loud and most spew out smoke as they go by. That is not something that makes public square any more livable or vibrant or enjoyable. What i will say, is the other day I waited for a bus while laying in the grass on public square and hopped up when i saw it coming. How cool is it to wait for a bus by laying in a public park?
  3. I saw lights on the silos recently. they weren't completely illuminated, but had colorful dancing spotlights on them. it was somewhat underwhelming, but i only saw it for a second
  4. DCA is downtown watering the trees almost every morning
  5. The cannon was placed along the street in the northwest corner of the square. rather out of the way in my opinion, but it is still on the square
  6. It will be opening in the first floor of the Renaissance, directly adjacent the square
  7. Ground breaking is coming very soon...
  8. Hmmm. Forest City still owns some land in the flats, no? Perhaps a new campus for them down there? Just wishful thinking
  9. Just because it doesn't have first floor retail doesn't mean it will be blank walls. See Neighborhood Launch / Bishops Walk in Columbus, for instance. I would rather have a high concentration of residential here and focus our attention on the Euclid/Prospect Corridor that could be a real urban shopping district
  10. Hopefully this org and plan help move us in that direction! There is a lot of developable land over there
  11. Aerozone Alliance working to entice businesses around NASA Glenn, Hopkins http://www.cleveland.com/cuyahoga-county/index.ssf/2016/04/aerozone_alliance_formed_to_encourage_economic_development_by_nasa_glenn_and_hopkins.html Planning starting for 'cleveland aerotropolis'
  12. Well that I can assist with: http://x.lnimg.com/attachments/ACE728FF-DE0F-449D-9AA6-469C8845F0BF.pdf Retail leasing plan
  13. I have heard that the City will be replacing the light posts throughout rockefeller park (currently regular wood poles with cobra-head lights) with more historically appropriate lamps and posts. Has anyone else heard anything about this? is it happening?
  14. I have heard from a good source that the buyer is exactly who we all think it is...they just had to work out contract issues between the many different ownership entities of the various sections of tower city
  15. They are rounding off the curb. I saw the new curbs in place today and they are significantly cut back from what they were before. While I hate to see that happen, I understand it. If you watch the buses that now have to turn around the square, they can't make the turn. From the right lane they have to honk wildly to make cars stop so they can hook around the corner because they can't make the right turn
  16. Cleveland Heights Master Plan has an online survey up that follows the first public meeting: www.tinyurl.com/ClevelandHeightsPM1Survey
  17. while I will never frequent either of those establishments...with both an ESPN zone and a hooters signed, does that indicate we are preparing for construction soon?
  18. They have free parking a half a block down the street if you spend (super easy) 50 bucks in the store. If you want the culture to change, you could be part of the solution. I pick up a few things from that store at least once a week on my way home and carry them all the way home on the bus for a half hour. It's not hard.
  19. I wouldn't get excited about the meeting on the 11th...
  20. I will rarely if ever enter this bar, but I love that its going here. The intersection of prospect and E 9th could become its own themed subdistrict with all the investment happening at the intersection. Much like playhouse square or the flats east bank or east 4th street, this intersection is getting its own character. And it is largely consisting of sports bars and restaurants. BW3 is going to open, paninis, clevelander, winking lizard, City tap, thirsty parrot. This is our arena district. Cheers formerly-racist-turned-just-confused-western-concept-bar-poorly-placed-in-a-neoclassical-building, welcome to the neighborhood.
  21. I don't think its been removed. they were putting pipes in the ground yesterday.
  22. It's going to be an antique store that will be open by appointment
  23. It is also the largest picture... I think we might be reading too much into an advertisement...
  24. Is the slow zone related to the tracks? Are we going to have to weather a slow zone in this area until the tracks can be replaced? In 2019 or however many years?
  25. Why not widen the road/add a bus stop directly above the tunnel from w 76? There would be a direct connection to battery park and the beach without the added time or difficulty of getting off the highway for buses
