  1. My office is across the street from the Union Club parking hole. I cannot wait for the day when they announce a skinny skyscraper for that lot. I do recall a long time ago that there was an article mentioning that they'd be open to developing the lot at some point in the future? Am I remembering that correctly? Sorry if this is off topic. Mods, you can move it to PHS discussion if needed.
  2. Hey everyone. Check this listing out...Price is quite high, but at least there's an opportunity
  3. ^^No they are not moving out of CLE. I am pretty sure he's being sarcastic. They are definitely moving out of Landmark Office building to one of four downtown Cleveland locations as reported by Ken.
  4. Actually, the nixing of the cul de sac is even better. I like the improved plan!
  5. If Sherwin moved to Texas I would become physically ill. That state is a completely unsustainable sprawling disaster
  6. Well if this is the case...Sherwin Execs, the people of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio want you here. Stay and grow with us please ?. We have plenty of underutilized lots downtown where you can put a nice new skyscpraper!
  7. Calling it now...With such a high demand for parking, I bet Weston incorporates it into a much larger mixed use development on those lots. I can't imagine financing being too much of a hurdle with 6000 plus employees needing immediate demand for parking and dining. Add in the fact that a fraction of those 6000 employees will need somewhere to live and all of the ancillary companies that may want to follow suit, and we have the perfect storm to FINALLY build on those dreaded lots. This has so much more potential to be transformative than Nucleus.
  8. ^How about we just pray that the only demo happening for this project is the removal of asphalt
  9. I do not trust Stark to get this done. I'll believe it is solely a city issue if you tell me that they are stalling the Market Square project as well for the same reason. This sounds like a Stark issue. Give it to Geis. He'll get it done.
  10. ^Excellent news! I was at the Architectural Review for the Spitzer site project ironically for my own home reno, and the neighbors had some...interesting concerns. If you want an entertaining evening, grab a six pack and head to any local planning department meeting when a large project like this is being proposed.
  11. X, here you go. It's confusing. I just used E 108th as a reference. Image per CPC website
  12. Lot's of exciting stuff happening in this neighborhood! From the city planning commission's agenda. All vacant lots currently. No demo is needed for this new construction. Glenville is finally waking up it seems. (Edit). Sorry, this is located around E 108th between Orville and Lee Avenues.
  13. These 2 proposals are...better. Not great from a design perspective, but at least from a form perspective, the clinic is trying to begin some kind of cohesiveness. I give it a C.
  14. ^Agreed. We should've found a way to give the old VA to the Metroparks to prevent any development of that site
  15. Wrote to Kerry McCormack (because he's always very responsive) and council president Dan Brady. I really hope this is all negotiating tactics only on Sherwin's part...
  16. ^Even better! I know sometimes we aren't huge fans of Knez's product, but this guy is doubling down on the city, and I have to commend him for that. He basically changed his entire business model from suburban to urban in a matter of 2 years. Good for him.
  17. Concept proposal, but man do I hope it gets built like this.
  18. Another winner from the "Cleveland Clinic Design Studio" Whatever that is?
  19. Renderings are up on CPC's website!! My favorite is this one for the E 70 st project. LOVE the level of density being proposed on the once forgotten East side, and the design is great. My other favorite is Knez's Lakefront development at the end of 55th. This is coming from an NRP employee who is not very happy with our chosen site plan on Scranton...
  20. Those pictures of Columbus...Ugh all of the 3 C's have lost so much built environment. Imagine if rapid suburbanization never occurred. Ohio would be a powerhouse of urbanity rivaling the Bos-Wash corridor.
  21. Doesn't even sound like the owner of Hot Dog Inn wants to be in it for much longer. According to the article, he might just take the money and retire. I honestly don't blame him, although I do hate to see greasy spoon spots fall by the wayside. And what's also encouraging is that the block club seems to be very cooperative with the developer too.
  22. I have family that works at this plant. It truly is one of the most productive steel plants in the world, and by their accounts, the union and management have a great relationship and share similar goals of creating a work environment that keeps all employees engaged and happy. It is nearly impossible to get a job at this place as a new hire because they have such a robust training and promotion system. If only ever other manufacturer in Cleveland could adopt this mentality, we would be one of the most productive manufacturing regions in the world. Anyway, with all that said, they will most likely look at a lot of other plants to scale back before this one. Probably some of the smaller plants throughout the US if I had to guess.
  23. This is AWESOME! KJP, I assume you had something to do with the new push to get this done. If so, thank you for all of your hard work. This is something our region can be very proud of
  24. ^^Please direct Target to the old Huntington building. Or better yet, the first two floors of Sherwin Williams' fancy new tower ?
  25. @KJP Look at the madness you have created. Spill the beans already before you break Urban Ohio
