  1. A little update on the Langston and CSU in general. I'm now a junior here, and I have never seen campus this busy after school hours. It's a great sight to see. From An occupancy perspective, and my sources are credible due to the fact that I'm currently shopping around for an apartment, the Langston is completely full already. This includes the buildings still under construction which have a waiting list. Fenn tower, Euclid commons, and Heritage Hall are all 100% full. Walker, 1900, university lofts, university studios all have waiting lists as well. Reserve and Chesterfield have a couple rooms open, but that's it. I know a few people who are starting to move into the western part of Asiatown. Just a hunch, but from what I'm seeing, look at Asiatown as the direction in which CSU's residential population will begin to expand instead of North towards the lake. I predict that area will stay artists and professionals. Either way, let's get to building!
  2. Alaturka was bought out by a neighboring future tenant that wants to double the size of a new bar that currently is being built out. Expanding a bit on 3231's response, the current Scene reports that Fabio Salerno's new concept for West 25th in the old Blooms Space ("Town Hall") will also fill the Alaturka space. The concept for this place is definitely not what I expected though: As for the concept, Salerno describes it as an all-organic, fast-casual eatery — not a regular sit-down establishment. Think healthy, fresh food like rice bowls and veggie burgers. http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2012/07/11/salernos-plans-for-w-25th-grow-thanks-to-recent-purchase Thanks! Good news
  3. Does anyone know if Alaturka is closed, or are they remodeling? Same goes for that Orange Blossom Press place next door. It seems to have had part of its wooden cladding ripped off. Hopefully if these places are closing, something will soon replace them. One final question. When is Mitchell's supposed to open! I want me some Christmas Ale ice cream this winter.
  4. Thanks KJP. I will definitely be posting more often. And yes, I was born and bred in the Mahoning Valley. I just recently came to Cleveland.
  5. How's the real estate doing in DS these days? I was just in Tremont last night and noticed a LOT of renovations and new builds. I always thought the best area to invest in the next couple of years would be the W 40ths-W 60ths between bridge and the lake. It's smack dab in the middle of Gordon Square and the Market District. Anyway, I say they're both great places. For a more neighborhood feel, I'd go with Tremont. If you love the lake, definitely DS because of the proximity to Edgewater.
  6. First time posting. Been viewing for a while though. I have to say that this is definitely in the top 5 best photo threads I've seen on here. A very comprehensive look at the good and bad of my favorite city!
