  1. Here's a panorama shot I took last night!! I can't wait to go back when there is less of a crowd and get more photos. :) Below is a YouTube video is as well of the lighting. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vqx5nkJnn5w&feature=youtu.be
  2. I feel the exact same. The brown is hideous for how modern and sleek the bottom looks. Plus the exposed parking is ridiculous. Fix those flaws and the Westin would look so much better.
  3. Do you often have parties where people are sitting on your 42" high counter? Ha, I don't think that is a big concern for the masses. Not sure how you can tell from the photo if it's a gas or electric range. I do agree with the micro, but it has to be able to accommodate any size that someone brings in. I don't think these would be furnished with the micro's, but if they are then yes, it looks bad. EDIT: from the second photo posted of the kitchen I can see that it's a gas range, it doesn't have the grill top installed. I don't see why gas would be a problem for a high-rise. You would have your floor and wall fire ratings and the gas lines would have backdraft preventers I'm sure. Yeah I think if 432 Park can use a gas range at 1100' ft The 9 can at a quarter of that height.
  4. It says.."Renderings of a comparable building".
  5. I totally agree...It just seems like the exterior of the building was just put together without any thought. The only thing I like about it is the new glass windows. Other than that I hate the brown combined with the grey, beige, and white. They should have just used grey and the lighter color.
  6. Oh how I wish the Warehouse Distract still looked like that....
  7. I do too. I have a feeling that people who are either walking or driving on Euclid are going to see these, the chandelier, and other numerous lights from afar and be drawn to it to check everything out. This area has the potential to be a major catalyst for development. Really need to focus now on bringing more retail to Euclid and Huron.
  8. I saw the same thing. It would be absolutely amazing to have a restaurant on the top of terminal tower. I could see that doing so well, and it would just add another bit of awesomeness to downtown.
  9. I was thinking the same thing...For the impact this is going to have on downtown I can live with 11 months. Who knows..maybe they'll be ahead of schedule.
  10. Oh thank you! I would much rather have this then the bland design of the "Akron Hotel" they had planned to connect to Greystone Hall!
  11. Very interesting read... If it's true about the KC firm I'll be very disappointed. It would be such a slap in the face to local talent. http://www.jaspr.co/blog/2014/3/20/dear-cleveland.html
  12. I think the retro sign will look great at night. However, I'm not a fan of the supports. Just looks too busy...I think it would luck much better if they somehow put a billboard type display up to cover it and have the design work with the lit lettering. Who knows maybe I'll think differently when it's complete.
  13. I might be wrong, but I think the handrail only looks like it's closing the street from the sidewalk due to the perspective. I think the rail is on a retaining wall that runs parallel to the sidewalk below, and from this angle you can't see the sidewalk.
  14. I totally get your "Hopefully before I die" mentality, but I don't know...Lately with seeing how things are getting done in Cleveland, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this. It seems just a few years ago they were talking about how this wouldn't happen for another 10-15 years and to hear that they're hoping to break ground by 2015 is a huge improvement, and shows how much of a priority this is to get done. Fingers crossed!
  15. I don't think they are going to be back lit, but rather the letters be fully lit.

  17. Here is the video from WKYC Channel 3. http://www.wkyc.com/story/news/local/2014/02/12/flats-resurgence--inside-look-at-phase-i/5393701/
  18. How about a City Target?
  19. I drove by the Breuer Tower last Friday evening after the CAVs game and I noticed what looked to be a red LED strip along about 10 feet of the Top SouthWest corner of the building. Anyone know what this is? I know the branding of the future building is all red, so perhaps they are going to instal red LED lights around the top?
  20. Is there a phase 3 to this project? In the layout above it shows a huge parking lot between the apartments and Aloft, but in some of the renderings it appears there is a parking garage with street level retail, etc. I really wish this is part of Phase 2, but judging by the layout above it doesn't look like it is. :?
  21. He is a she. Although the author isn't named, I'm pretty sure the writer was Angie Schmitt. This reads like her usual rants. Not to mention she replied to every comment left like she's backing up her argument...
  22. Here's the facade I'm imagining the hotel having.... Cleveland's skyline deserves a sleek tower like this. Obviously the hotel will be shorter than 7 world trade center, but judging from the renderings I like to think this is what the facade will look like.
  23. The whole thing needs turned 90 degrees so then half the building would have lake views?...With the way it was designed you'll have lake shore views from both sides...plus the podium roof will have a huge lake view as well...
  24. Plus don't forget a skylift needs to be able to fly off the top down to the lake ;)
  25. I think the renderings don't do the finished product justice. With what looks to be a full glass facade I think it will look very modern (even more than Ernst & Youngs), and will be a great addition to the skyline. To touch a bit on what people are saying about the tower facing the mall...I think it would be better to have the podium lakeside. Especially if there is to be a green roof up there.
