  1. ^^ I'm just saying it's not that big of a deal, period. It's an interchange with development. Whooptee doo. It definitely benefits the area. Why do you care?

Thanks for the work. Are 2012 numbers available?
  3. Strange, it's not major league in my evaluation.
  4. ^^ This. It all seems rather unremarkable. I am excited about the retail though. And it's infinitely better than a parking lot with a sky-walk to nowhere, not that you were saying otherwise.
  5. Have you even seen Austin Landing? If you sneeze on 75 you would miss it. It's hardly a sprawled suburban development, though it is on the southern tip of Dayton's suburban sprawl. If Austin Landing does anything negative then it will pull businesses out of Kettering, Miamisburg, or Centerville. Otherwise, it's just an interchange that provides much needed access to the northern end of Springboro and southern access to Miamisburg from 75. Before, you had to go up to 725 and deal with congestion to access anything down 741 or reach Miamisburg. That's all it is. Nothing more, nothing less. It's really quite unremarkable, but you seem to want to over inflate it's importance so we can all argue your ludicrous points on schools, tax bases, other amenities within a reasonable distance, etc. I'm not taking the bait. Go troll somewhere else.
  6. Troll. That's what you do. You like to post inflammatory, condescending remarks and take threads off topic so they center on you and your idiotic arguments. There is no common ground with you because you will simply start in on something else if common ground is found. You seem to get off on arguing with people that like to post on forum boards. It's so obvious to everyone what you are doing, even if you deny doing it. Troll - In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
  7. Those are the weirdest boundaries for downtown Cincinnati I have ever seen. Cutting OTR, and the West End in half along Liberty Street? I'm interested to hear the logic behind leaving out most of the CBD and including Queensgate, Lower Price Hill and Mount Adams. I am sure there is some reasoning behind things, just to give the benefit of the doubt.
  8. Do you try to be a jerk, or does it come naturally?

Got me. I posted it up hoping that other's could provide some more sources. It seems under-reported in Cincy. http://www.clevelandfed.org/research/trends/2007/1107/02regact-3.gif

Looks like Cincinnati Metro leads Ohio in 2012 jobs creation. CINCINNATI METRO--24,600 jobs COLUMBUS METRO--17,300 jobs CLEVELAND METRO--12,800 jobs DAYTON METRO--2,600 jobs Source: http://www.journal-news.com/news/news/region-leads-state-in-job-creation/nT4Ys/
  11. The park is closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., so I could only assume the restrooms are closed as well.
  12. Don't mind kjbrill. I lurk over at city-data and all he does is post negative, anti-urban crap. He is one of the most negative personalities I have come across online.
  13. I have seen the bathrooms there jam packed before on weekends. There is a need to do something, I am glad someone is thinking outside the box to try out what has worked well in Portland.
  14. My Lord. God forbid anyone would be allowed to exchange ideas without someone coming along and telling us to quit thinking outside the box and get back in line. The developer is working with the community on this project to a degree, especially on the parking situation. It seems that roughly half of an adjacent park/green space will be converted to parking. And obviously you have no clue on how a redevelopment of this type can occur while preserving the existing architecture. Thank God the developer that purchased the property is expert in these matters. All you can envision is gutting the place and starting over. Egads.
  15. I was on McMillan today. I saw a green notice on Christy's front door and went to read it. Long and short of it is they will reopen as a bar in February. Not sure if there will be food, though I suspect there will be.
  16. Same here. I live on Clifton Ave (south of McMillan), and both of those lots are ripoffs. The one at Wheeler has meters that are way off. And they will tow in a heart beat. I am not a fan of parking lots along business strips anyway. Ludlow Ave is a good example of how it should be. Just businesses and street parking.
  17. Makes me wonder if the owners of Christys would give up that parking lot if the money was right. Right now they are raking it in on that parking lot. I am a regular at Clifton Natural Foods, and stop in almost daily for cool drinks and such. Hardly a day goes by w/o seeing the tow trucks hooking another car. That parking lot is way too big for that area now.
  18. The family is keeping the Moerlein Mansion and leasing out the business. They have a leasee lined up already.

I have family in Lynchburg. The city is home to Jerry Falwell and Liberty University. There is a lot of old money stashed away. They have done some nice things with downtown over the years. The part of town where Liberty University is located is quite different from the downtown pics. Overall, it's like the land that time forgot. The city is isolated in many respects and not very kind to outsiders. Lol@the pic of Philly at the end.
  20. That Shell station has some of the highest gas prices around at times. They regularly gouge the student population who don't know their way around to find cheaper gas. I would love to see that station go away and something else built in it's place.
  21. I would hardly say that any of the three Cs have "roared back" -- especially Columbus.

Ya, ya, I know the history and understand margin of error. :shoot: My opinion is still the same.

Ya, like Cincinnati's estimates being revised upwards and then being way off base in 2010. The numbers are very subjective and any "trends" based on them are speculative and highly subjective, IMO.
  24. Thanks for linking the blog post. Awesome!
  25. I have a friend who lives in Shiletto and they love it. I have been there several times to hang out and was impressed by what I saw. Seems like a great place to me.
