Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I wish I had relatives who had money to loan. I appreciate your perspective but I believe it is an over generalization.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I don't like the idea of giving them a grant either. Loan yes, low or no interest for that matter. It does seem to be a minority business sort of thing. I for one will eat there because I love soul food / home cooking having grown up in the south. It will also be one of the only spots of it's kind (soul food) in the immediate vicinity. I wish them the best but hope the grant doesn't go through.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Thanks for pointing that out. It's likely I would not have done that otherwise. I enjoy seeing before and after of OTR, love the progress.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
They recently did some major utility work on McMillian, Calhoun, and that small stretch of Clifton Ave in between the two. I doubt it was street car related but I do not know that for sure, though I would guess it was for the current development under way.

Took me a while too, welcome aboard! I agree with your assessment on Corryville and the western side of the campus in general. I'm on Clifton Avenue near Emming and Klotter and tend to think all of the development around the campus will draw students closer to campus. Really, developments like Usquare at the loop should raise the bar, so to speak for all the various and sundry slumlords around Clifton Heights. Not to mention hopefully these newer housing opportunities will decongest my hood a little. I thin it's been noted, but the original plan for the street car was along Vine street and not Clifton Ave, though I think Clifton Ave was a consideration. I should say W. Clifton Ave.

Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
Thanks for the link, I missed this when browsing news this morning. I wonder if this speaks favorably of the changing demographics downtown? Personally I think it says that Kroger is willing to consider where in past years they weren't even gonna talk about the notion.

If one can put any stock in the renderings on their facebook page then I would say it is gonna be around 5 stories including street level.

Cincinnati Skywalks
To me the skywalks in Cincy are nothing more than a novelty. I took my five year old through them last winter on a snowy day and he though it was cool. Haven't set foot in one since and don't plan to. I am downtown all the time and live in Clifton Heights. No reason to use skywalks when the sidewalks offer so much more.

Ya, they are in full swing with the excavation phases. It's on and cracking.

Looks like they should begin soon. Heavy equipment has been moved on site.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I can't say for sure but I am of the opinion that Cincy needs to do more with it's riverfront area. Not sure if this development fits that bill or not.

I saw that when I was at Island Frydays a few days ago.

This was posted in August 11: http://www.uptowncincinnati.com/news/articles/construction-university-square-loop-begin-fall No action yet. I guess they can still start this fall since there are a couple months of fall left. We shall see.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
That sucks. It's an awkward space for a field. I hope they can get it together soon.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
So, are they gonna start this project or not? I pass the location almost daily and still no signs of activity except a couple of new telephone poles laying on the ground.

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
So this means around 88,000 people are not counted in Cincinnati alone? These figures sound like a lot about nothing.
-
Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
Are people who don't return the census estimated into the final number? or just not counted?

Downtown Workforce
State government would account for a lot I would think.
