Westside Cleveland Driving Tour Help
I'd suggest taking Franklin from OC to Det Shrwy neighborhood, there's the Franklin Castle, many old Victorian homes, and nice new infill scattered throughout Franklin. I'm also a fan of W.67th/69th from Detroit to the Lake, its just a nice well kept area that concludes with the nice new development of Tillman Park.

Major Concert Venues of Ohio Cities
Very true about the concerts. It seems all the bands I like hardly ever go to Cleve or Cincy, but most always pop up in Cbus.

JivecityCLE - my trip to the Forest City
Clevelanders are severely pessimistic people in general, so it really doesn't surprise me that you didn't hear optimism. That being said there are many projects that should make the average schmoe ecstatic, i.e. Wind farms, flats east bank, medical mart, the constant expansion of the Clinic, a spectacular dining scene....the list goes on and on. I'm happy you loved your visit to the Cle, it'd be impossible not to ;), and your observations were very accurate, especially with the housing stock, Cleveland and other Great Lake cities are predominantly wood framed structures; from Collinwood to West Park it's the duckbill doubles. There's so much to see, and while you had a quick visit, you managed to get a nice cursorary review of a great city. Btw, I have family in STL and I always enjoy my visit to the City. Cle and STL have so many hardship similarities that us urbanists are constantly working to overcome.

2010 World Cup
Yawn...whatever...I was hoping the Netherlands would win only so that porn star would have to dole out what she does best to her fans. I guess she'll just have to do it for the love of her sport.

Trip to Boston
I'm planning a trip to Boston in early September. So far our only scheduled event is seeing Vampire Weekend; I'm looking for dining suggestions (raw bars) and other must see attractions. Although touristy, I still want to see Fanuel Hall, Freedom Trail, Harvard, the Aquariam, Chinatown...so what else should be on the itinerary?

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
LittleItalyCleveland replied to blinker12's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & Entertainment^^ agree on Stone Mad. I had an overpriced burger that was OK at best. I do like their glass light fixtures, it looks like this all came from the glass blowing shop in Ohio City.

The BEER Thread
^ you're right in that super gravity beers don't taste like beers at all. I've had the Dogfish Head 120, which is 20%, and it tastes alot like a brandy- boozy with a strong alcohol bite and hardly any hop taste.
-
The BEER Thread
But isn't the freeze hopping process essentially removing the ice and what your left with is a higher ABV?
-
The BEER Thread
They kettle hop, dry hop, and freeze hop. I've never heard of freeze hopping, but I would assume that's where the high ABV comes from.

The BEER Thread
I received as a gift two bottles of 'Sink the Bismarck' by BrewDog. This beer holds the record for worlds strongest beer, ringing in at 41% ABV. Of course you cant purchase this in Ohio, with the ABV limitiations and all, so the only way to get this is through the brewery...in Scotland. Has anyone tried this "IPA" yet? I have this displayed on the bar next to the Dogfish Head 120's, I can't wait to try this.
