Probably not the best place for this, but I've heard the farmers in S.W. Indiana haven't even planted their corn crop due the heavy rains. Last year was great for sweet corn. Sounds like we'll be lucky to get to buy some before August.
  2. A co-worker sent me this aerial shot last week. Not sure how old it is, but I thought it was interesting. I wonder if old Mehring Way is ready to be torn up.
  3. ^and I think Leslie Ghiz is becoming the female version of Tom Luken. Just crazy statements after another.
  4. Here's Enquirer reporter Barry Horstman's tweets. A bit of a wise-ass. Fair and balanced. Special Council streetcar meeting has been major PR coup for supporters. But doubtful anyone's mind on either side changed. #streetcar about 2 hours ago via web from Cincinnati, OH 17 of first 18 speakers at special streetcar meeting favor project. But single opponent, Rev. Dock Foster, spoke loudest. #streetcar about 2 hours ago via web from Cincinnati, OH Real winner in Wed night's special streetcar meeting? Chris Bortz, who skipped the 4,172nd debate due to potential conflict. #streetcar about 2 hours ago via web from Cincinnati, OH City Manager Dohoney giving streetcar overview for 2nd time in 8 days. Able to disguise his excitement over doing it at 6 pm. #streetcar. about 3 hours ago via web from Cincinnati, OH About 100 people at Council's special streetcar meeting. Inescapable conclusion: Wednesday night social calendar a little thin. #streetcar about 4 hours ago via web from Leoni, MI List of people who want to speak at special Cincinnati City Council meeting tonight on streetcar up to about 50. Send food!. #streetcar about 4 hours ago via web from Leoni, MI http://twitter.com/barryhorstman
  5. Pretty sweet deal. I think it's the entire Sony catalog. I'm not sure how it's being paid for. Don't let the COAST folks find out about it.
  6. ^maybe one has already been done, but could a hypothetical light rail line be drawn up for this area? I like to daydream, but maybe it could stir things up. The retail shuffle will continue, Glenway Crossing is nearly empty, though Panera Bread is still the THE hangout. ;-) I would like to see a consolidation of all these retail areas.
  7. ^^^good stuff. so is there a court yard in center of that hole, er building?
  8. Concentrated wealth and concentrated power is the only way to go. They create all the jobs after all . . .
  9. The curse of living in Cincy. . . Wildcat Nation vs. Buckeye Nation Our accident of geography leaves us shooting airballs Friday night. The Ohio State University is playing Big Blue in the Sweet 16. How are we supposed to act? When you’re squarely atop the Mason-Dixon Line, are you Mason or Dixon? Rooting against both is entirely counter-productive, though likely to occur in bars all over town. The calculus of Who You Hate More comes into play, certainly, and I’m guessing that nod would go to the Buckeyes. They take lots of our local football lode. Plus, a place that refers to itself as “The’’ anything opens itself up for mass derision. If you like slick coaches, the ‘Cats are your guys. If you like slick, homespun coaches, hey, O-H. . . If you prefer a team dotted with seniors, that can play any style and win, the Buckeyes are for you. This is the best quasi-amateur team in America today . . . To read more: http://news.cincinnati.com/comments/article/20110324/COL03/303240103/Wildcat-Nation-vs-Buckeye-Nation And the best reader comment "The real competition between these 2 schools is which program will end(up) on probation first: UK hoops or OSU football(and/or basketball)."
  10. I'm amazed at the vindictive way the state government is going out of their way to stop the streetcar. It's a full out assault.
  11. Here comes the flood. Maybe not the best place to post this, but the raising waters got thinking about how it could effect the park. From: http://ramsey.mlblogs.com/
  12. ^^^Boy I hope so!! The Mayor seemed pretty grim.
  13. He LIED! Bring on the Death Penalty. Vacate the Season. As usual the cover-up is worst than the original offense. And ironically enough this offense is more interesting than a typical OSU offensive of possession. They're be all alright, especially with an annual schedule full of Little Old Ladies of Poor . . .then there's the out of conference schedule. Ok, I'm done now. ;-)

Though the best Cincy/Hollywood connection for today has to be Charlie Sheen gone wild and reliving his hard partying with the Reds in the 1990s. Gotta give the man credit for being able to party so hard for 20+ years Charlie Sheen’s ‘epic’ party with the Cincinnati Reds In an interview with TMZ, Sheen described the greatest party he has been apart of. That party was with members of his favorite baseball team, The Cincinnati Reds. Two separate parties took place – one during the 1990 Wire-to-Wire run – and one during the 1992 season. “Cincinnati Reds party for sure … It was epic. It was radical and they still talk about it to this day – 21 years later. Lou Piniella – my man!” Sheen wouldn’t go into details of the party, however, a 1993 story that ran in the Enquirer by John Erardi bring some of the storyline to light . . . It is happening in Ohio. I wouldn't underestimate what's happening in Wisconsin.
  19. Does this complicate a Spring(March) ground breaking?
  20. Just read Florida is scrapping their HSR plans.
  21. Pretty exciting stuff. Here's link to an interactive map. http://cincinnati-oh.gov/noncms/projects/streetcar/stops/streetcar_stops.cfm Attached a screenshot of a more detailed map.
  22. I tweeted it. Shame, it looks like I'm the only one. Nice new feature too.
  23. ^^ Man, that's a great list. You can also add that the Bearcats should of won the 1992 NCAA Championship. Michigan turn out to be big cheaters(Fab Five; must be a northern thing. Steve Fisher now coaches San Diego St.) and the Bearcats are now officially the runner-ups. Huggins was convinced we would of crushed Duke. Every true Cincinnatian knew were they were when they heard about Kenyon's broken leg. People still groan about it. I do. And the Bengals were the best team 2005, until the cheap shot artists that are the Steelers thug their way into the Super Bowl.

". . .working on a lot of language to tighten up the transparency, the ethics, the constitutionality concerns" Little, minor things like that, then were good.
