I think Detroit has 4, Cincy has 5.
  2. I started to develop a little sympathy for American car makers, but no more. Op-Ed Columnist How to Fix a Flat By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN Published: November 11, 2008 How could these companies be so bad for so long? Clearly the combination of a very un-innovative business culture, visionless management and overly generous labor contracts explains a lot of it. It led to a situation whereby General Motors could make money only by selling big, gas-guzzling S.U.V.’s and trucks. Therefore, instead of focusing on making money by innovating around fuel efficiency, productivity and design, G.M. threw way too much energy into lobbying and maneuvering to protect its gas guzzlers. 3. At the very least it will be settled on the field unlike the BCS crap-fest.

^The new HD screen the Arizona Diamondbacks have is wild. It's so large, it almost overwhelms everything else. I'll post a pick of Jay Bruce on it.

One positive from the season. Well, there were a few more, but when we're routinely out of contention by June every year it wears me down.
  6. It must still have a floppy drive. ;-)
  7. No problems on the Westside of Cincy. Got in and out in less than 15 minutes. I never understood the point of early voting especially with the hours long waits. After my experience this morning, even less so.

  11. Gateway Quarter to expand By Lisa Bernard-Kuhn • [email protected] • November 2, 2008 A fourth massive phase of redevelopment in the works in Over-the-Rhine would more than double the footprint of its growing Gateway Quarter and continue to help stabilize the neighborhood. Preliminary plans call for up to 180 new residential units, office space and additional street-level storefronts to be built and renovated starting in 2009 along the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Vine and Walnut streets. At the core of the effort: the former Mercer Commons site. Long targeted for redevelopment, the eroding 3-acre site contains more than two dozen vacant lots and 20 boarded-up buildings scattered between Vine and Walnut. 12. I guess it makes sense to do a list for local TV stations: CET, Cincinnati, OH http://www.cetconnect.org/ ThinkTVNetwork, Dayton, OH http://www.thinktv.org/ KET, KY http://www.ket.org/ I thought there were more, but I think it's the same stations on multi channels.
  13. I did a quick search for local radio stations: WNKU-FM: 89.7 - Highland Heights, KY Strong signal WNKU-FM: 89.7's signal is strong in 45238. WGUC-FM: 90.9 - Cincinnati Strong signal WGUC-FM: 90.9's signal is strong in 45238. WVXU-FM: 91.7 - Cincinnati Part of The X-Star Radio Network Connecting You to a World of Ideas Strong signal WVXU-FM: 91.7's signal is strong in 45238. WMUB-FM: 88.5 - Oxford, OH Moderate signal WMUB-FM: 88.5's signal is moderate in 45238. WOSU-AM: 820 - Columbus, OH Part of WOSU Public Media Your All Day NPR Station Weak signal WOSU-AM: 820's signal is weak in 45238. When I'm not using my iPod, 89.7 is my favorite. I thought it was in Fort Thomas. WVXU-FM offers access to WOXY.com. WGUC-FM: 90.9 is mostly classical music. I never tried the other two.
  14. Makes sense. Though KY and Cincinnati both have public radio and tv stations. I 'm surprised they don't merge. I wonder if being in different states would be the issue. One of the best public radio stations is in Northern Kentucky.
  15. Good to hear. I was curious how a rehab Emery would fit in with all the other existing concert halls.
  16. Surprise, surprise. Any SUV you see in those spots you're allow to key. ;-)
  17. Sounds like the Treasury has their priorities in order. Go 5/3. I have a super cheap car loan with them and no fee checking and saving accounts.
  18. I'm sure there's a learning curve. I wouldn't be surprise to see a car park in those spots.
  19. ^^Very nice. More importantly, did they stiff Cleveland on this round of funding since they got all the funds the first go-round.
  20. Oh yeah, with the Breeders. Kim Deal is hot. edit: I knew I saw this somewhere.
  21. I think the thread should be changed to RAWK Concerts. Two shows that I would of like to of seen. The Black Keys in Covington and the reunited Toadies at Bogarts. All I do is work.
  22. Keep in mind, these trails are built with volunteer labor. Sounds like Devou trails will get off to a great start with 150+ people. It would be a great accomplishment if the trail is ready by spring. I understand the wind storm a few weeks ago wreck the trails. Trees and branches everywhere. I think Mitchell Memorial Forest is still closed. Hamilton County Park District won't allow volunteers to use chairsaws. Whereas, with Idlewild-England(Burlington), people just got together and cleared the trails. I'll try and gather a list of links that has more info on the various trails.
  23. Sweet. I guess it's a go. 10 miles of trails would make it one of the biggest in the area. Burlington, KY might have that much. Also there's a trail in Fort Thomas, KY. I've never tried that one. I understand it's mostly downhill and takes you to the Ohio River. The problem is you have to go back up.

I don't get any banner ads on these forums. I always wondered about that. Only on the main page which I rarely go to anyway.
