Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Not much concrete info but there was some activity over the weekend on Twitter suggesting that demolition related to Irishtown Bend should be starting very soon.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Two developments... the Easternmost building now has a ground floor windows and a door! The Westernmost building... looks like they may be trying a new method of cleaning?

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
To me this was the obvious solution from the start. The Convention Center, as far as I know, has been successful and is a great facility. The Global Center was a failure but the building is already connected to the facility. Public Auditorium while connected is underutilized and not as well maintained. Just turn the whole thing Into the Convention Center and be done with it. It is amazing that this costs $30M to do though.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
I am afraid there is going to be a lot of that, especially downtown. They did part of Euclid Avenue but there's still crooked lights (WITH NEW HEADS), and the random ones that aren't done... per usual my OCD is going to go through the roof with this project. Nobody seems to have attention to detail.

Cleveland: Retail News
Just a little comment from me re. Heinen's reopening... I know they aren't getting the office lunch crowds they need, but downtown residents are really giving their support. In my opinion, just in the short time they've been open, pedestrian activity has already increased coming east and west on Euclid Avenue. Every time I have been in (daily lol) it has been nicely busy, even on weekends. It's good to see, and a testament to people's desire to WALK to places, not drive. I hope as more apartments come online they get even more of the business they need! Euclid Grand, City Club, and one day 925 will certainly assist in that goal.

CLEVELAND - randomly from here 'Tow' morning ;)
@MayDay this is a FANTASTIC set !! How lucky we are to live in a place where you can find such incredible natural settings right within what is considered 'downtown'. Hopefully in the coming years more and more people discover this as it becomes more and more accessible. Shiny new buildings are great, but this is the kind of thing that really can't be replicated. Also... "I'm not always the brightest blinker on the Buick" is a new phrase that I fully intend to use ?

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Interesting! I actually like this, a different use of space instead of just another bar or restaurant. Adds a little uniqueness to the area.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
On this afternoon's DCA webinar Mike Carney from Landmark stated that their plans for the Shoreline phase 2 will still be moving forward, but not breaking ground now until early 2022. The plans will also incorporate a public park.

Cleveland: CrossCountry Mortgage New HQ
I hope all of this pushes the Superior bikeway forward. Such a transformational project to give Superior a much needed road diet, and what a bonus for these employees having that right in their front yard.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Definitely would’ve preferred this without the stripes, but nonetheless a great slice of modern glass architecture to contrast with the Keith Building! Great pictures.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
I think it’s referencing the westernmost group you mention, which I still take to be good news given how recently they were built.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
Interesting find on the Knez website after reading this thread: Their website says that of the new Avenue townhomes only 3 remain, and they only list 2: https://knez.net/townhomes/the-avenue/ If that is true, I would imagine that bodes well for for-sale housing downtown?

Cleveland: Retail News
Agree @roman totale XVII although I do wish they would put back the deli... I think that was doing better and they replaced it with a hot foods bar.

Cleveland: Retail News
I am a little confused by what they mean about not opening the Rotunda space at this time. The wine, beer, seafood, meat, sushi, cafe and bakery areas are all in the Rotunda. Do they mean the cafe space upstairs?

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Yea I don’t think you will find much ‘woe is me’ on this forum... we just care deeply about our city and don’t feel there is an excuse for the very poor lack of maintenance that plagues many aspects of our town.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Looks nice, better get your pictures now while they’re alive haha. ...side point- the May Co. Building is so spotlessly clean that I really thought that was a rendering, not a real photo. EDIT: On the right side of that pic you see the dead trees lining the Casino Welcome Center, which apparently will just stay there forever. Next to the broken streetlights

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
A rare glimpse behind the facade of the Sterling building... sadly looks like there's not much left.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
For the second time, Ruth’s Chris will be leaving Cleveland. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/cleveland-metro/ruth-chris-steak-house-closing-public-square-location Obviously this is unfortunate news but I also never liked the design of their 200 Public Square location. The big gold box jutting out into the atrium always seemed an odd choice and I always wondered why they didn’t take advantage of the big barren sidewalk space they had on Superior, which would’ve made a great patio.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Glad we got Act 1 completed before the pandemic... hopefully PHS can recover. It’s up to the limited workers and the residents now to support the restaurants and businesses.

Before the pandemic, air traffic was growing considerably at Hopkins. I was there almost every week and it was almost always busy.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
This is too important to the City. They aren't going to let much stop this project.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I noticed this box above the entrance to the State Theater tonight... I’m going to guess this is the projector for the Lumen garage?
