I never noticed they are built to be in-line with Alley Cat's first and second story heights. Or at least it looks like it from here.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I dont know if this is the best place for this, but there is a great article in Properties Magazine about the complexities of converting Terminal Tower to residential use. Its really interesting: http://digital.propertiesmag.com/publication/?m=15890&i=662464&p=21&pp=1 Also the residences are 75% leased as of the time of this article.

If Doug Price and some of his Stonebridge residents think this is "fine" ... then we have a problem. How this can be seen as the highest and best use for such a unique asset is beyond me.

I can definitely come up with a list of "issue categories" ... I will report back! Thanks!

Wow @GISguy that sounds very cool... let me know if I can help in any way if you do that. I know a lot of us on here probably have the same detail-focused (dare I say OCD) view when it comes to maintenance needs in the downtown area; we just don't always know where to go with that information to get things fixed.

That is some @KJP - level teasery!!!

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Almost all of the freeway entrances into downtown are unwelcoming. The only routes that are decent are E. 9th coming from 90E and E.9th coming from 2W. But E. 9th coming from 77N, E. 14th, E22nd, etc. to me are not great.

@urbanetics_ How did I miss THIS conversation!? ? Usually the issue is that there are so many disparate parties involved that nobody knows who is supposed to fix what and the City seems to get bogged down in pointing fingers at others instead of just fixing things. Unfortunately for my sanity, I am hyper-detail focused so I notice all of the little things that need to be done and never are. Most people probably don't notice but after a while this just adds up to be a problem. I would welcome any ideas on how some of us could assist. I have sent things to Kerry McCormack before and he is pretty good at addressing things. But there are just so many... lighting usually goes to CPP or the specific property management. As far as tree maintenance, I'm not sure who that is. DCA does great keeping the planters nice but dead trees are another huge issue... along with trees that have been ripped out and filled in with CONCRETE like on the Superior side of the Arcade... the area around the Casino Welcome Center and Wahlburgers is a mess- the lights are broken... I just dont understand why nobody has ATTENTION TO DETAIL? How do you walk by your property and not notice these things. For as great a job as Bedrock has done with the May Co Building I don't understand why they aren't maintaining what they already have. Well @urbanetics_ you did say don't get me started and now here I am haha.

Look nice... and highlighting more and more how 925 needs a power washing haha. If that project ever gets started, I wonder what they plan to do to the eastern unadorned facade . . .

Colossal Cupcakes will reopen in late August and interestingly she is opening a second location in the AECOM building on E. 9th and St. Clair- I’m assuming in one of the empty retail spots on the E. 9th side. It will be interesting to see how that spot does. In normal times you have quite a few employees plus pedestrian traffic to and from North Coast Harbor. It will be nice to finally see at least ONE of the many empty storefronts on E. 9th filled

I liked the very original renderings of these better than the current look- though there was an iteration in between that was worse. I’m hoping it’ll be a case where these look nicer in person than in a rendering.

Cleveland: Euclid Avenue trees
And the trees in the sidewalk on the E. 9th side are already dead I believe.

Nice pics!! You know in that first photo I never noticed before if you look at the shape and the angles there is something about it that is strangely reminiscent of the PanAm / Metlife Building.

Wow. Those are really cool! Love the rooftop. Hope a part of the roof is still planned to be open to the public

More important than that is the addition of more residents. Continuing to add more and more restaurants is fine but seems unsustainable without an increase in actual population in the area. I'm sure the demand for smaller more affordable units such as proposed in the "Kenect" building is high... does anyone know how long that is going to be delayed??

Great to hear. Though I will miss the convenience of being just a few steps away from Heinen's for the time being, I am actually excited to see the store take advantage of this opportunity to adapt to change and continue to improve. Looking forward to seeing what they do and will be welcoming them back on opening day.

An update. It doesn’t sound too ominous to me, I think they’re being cautious and careful. I worked at Heinen’s for five years when I first moved to Ohio- I’ll see if I can find out anything further from my old coworkers.

Cleveland: Retail News
Are people really worried about Heinen's? I never took this damage as a possible the end to the store. Its the one place that was consistently busy at almost all hours even throughout the pandemic... with the population continuing to grow including several hundred more residents right across the street I wouldn't think this would suddenly put things to a stop for them.

I hope Geigers will come back, and I appreciate that they took a chance on downtown in the first place. But let’s be honest, the market downtown for a City Target is VASTLY larger than for Geigers.... to say if Geigers goes all retail is hopeless is totally inaccurate.

I went to CVS this morning and it was still closed so I walked to the other one at Rockwell. I couldn't tell if they were working on the inside... Heinen's had workers in and out. Geiger's seemed quiet today from what I could tell.

Living in Downtown Cleveland
? They walked away from 55PS. I think it was not a cost effective project. Based on what KJP has been hinting at elsewhere I’d say Rockefeller is a good guess. I am going to find out... the one and only place I have sources at hahaha. EDIT ^ the mystery continues !
