  1. Sadly I dont think it is a priority to anyone... Maybe with SW building their new headquarters on the square someone can come up with the money?
  2. Gosh those streetlights are ugly... time for a streetscape improvement all the way across the bridge.
  3. Wow! I keep forgetting that section with the beautiful arched windows was covered up.
  4. Articles like this make me glad they dont allow comments anymore ? Glad Michelle has pointed out that no, the parking sky is not falling.
  5. Nice article Ken, it took me a moment to realize that was my photo ? ...I’m sure it’s come up on this thread before but I don’t think it ever sunk in to me that this is the tallest residential building in Ohio. Cool fact!
  6. What is the (approximate / rumored) timeline for some of this? Waiting solely on the decision by SW to stay and build on Public Square? Or waiting for construction to actually begin or even be completed?
  7. I’m not sure what it is but I really like the look of those new units in the rendering on Superior vs. the rest of the Avenue District designs. They seem more substantial.
  8. I believe it is being treated as a hopeful 'phase 2'
  9. You mean 9 surface parking SPOTS right? As shown. I had a mild heart attack when I read 9 surface lots.
  10. was this recently? Or back when you first started reporting on this project
  11. I wish they would like up PNC with the floods every night ?
  12. From this morning.
  13. Maybe I’m blinded by the death of a parking lot but I like it. In a downtown with so much heavy brown, beige and grey I like the quirky brightness of this. What’s wrong with having a blend of all styles? Totally get it’s not for everyone.
  14. This is not permanent. I sent an Instagram message to the leasing agent from CBRE after he posted a video of the space. He said he just thought it was a creative way to get eyes on the space and hopefully attract a good permanent tenant. So there we have it!
  15. They left the space completely unfinished and just parked some cars inside so it just seems a bit odd to say they have a retail tenant. I assume this is just temporary based on the look of it, until they can sign a permanent tenant.
  16. Great article and excited to know that Bridgeworks is progressing as well!
  17. I think it has been discussed previously that the new retail in Detroit is being HEAVILY subsidized by Gilbert & Co. (Correct me if I am wrong) I'm not sure what's better... having retail that is impressive but not actually viable? Or waiting until it comes about organically and makes sense. Either way... I don't really understand the point of Auto World taking up this storefront. Like I said- the 'For Lease' signs haven't come down. So thats a good sign. ?
  18. I wonder when they will get to downtown. So many street lights are out- this should make a huge difference. Does anyone know if this includes the Healthline lighting?
  19. NICE. big win for the street. I’m hopeful Greenhouse will be filled with something great as well. With this and the pizza spot from Citizen Pie I think E. 4th will be just fine. Hopefully the Hodges spot can get filled soon.
  20. Probably meaningless, but I noticed this exchange on Twitter.
  21. Yes this has been confirmed now by both Jacobs & Weston.
  22. I like the blade sign idea but yeesh I am not a fan of this logo/font choice... I am concerned about the retail space. We have all of this, plus the Statler has some, there is some on the opposite side of Euclid, there is the CAC (if you assume that very questionable-looking car showroom is temporary), Schofield corner, and upcoming Centennial, plus there is the Sterling building which recently landed Chase but still has other empty storefronts. Hopefully the additional population those properties will bring will mean actual tenants!
  23. If you base this solely on height, it makes sense. Tallest should be Public Sq and then scale down from there to meet the Warehouse District. This has the potential to be incredibly transformative and truly connect what feels like two parts of downtown... to me it always feels like from Playhouse Sq to Public Sq is one section, and then the Warehouse District/FEB feels like another. And really the only separation is the mental impact of walking through parking lots. I hope and pray they do a nice job of creating a pedestrian friendly, inviting connection!
