Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Wow I have never seen that video before. Obviously the likelihood of anything proceeding as described in the video is low but I do like the concept of turning the Galleria into a kind of food hall experience. It would be incredibly popular with the lunch crowds who in that area don’t have much. Loved the idea of bringing back Top of the Town. If this deal goes through it would be nice to impliment some of the ideas presented in that video...

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
KJP, how do you think this will affect things going forward at RTA? Just curious, since we don't know who will replace him, how you believe this will have an impact. Hopefully quickly positive.

That rendering is hideous.... It looks like the old Bond Court

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
This is obviously good news. I have a very random question. You can see clearly in those pictures the new planters outside at the ticket level. They were covered for the winter. They are still covered and we’re halway through July... little things like that really improve aesthetics and Cleveland just seems to be terrible at maintaining plants and trees. What gives?

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Great view! This adds some really nice height along this stretch.... Wish we had some height on the South side of Euclid to balance it out... the height we once had was taken down :(

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Not sure if anyone saw this project: Beginning Monday, July 16, crews will begin work on W. 6th Street, W. 3rd St. and W. 2nd Street. Work will take place through October 2018 and the following restrictions will be in place: W. 6th Street: Maintained bi-directional traffic from either Prospect Ave. or Huron Rd. during construction to maintain access to garage. No on-street parking. W. 3rd Street: Closed to through traffic during construction. Maintain one lane northbound for hotel valet and hotel traffic ONLY. No on-street parking. W. 2nd Street: Maintain one lane southbound throughout construction. No on-street parking. Work includes bridge joint replacement, bridge deck resurfacing and sealing and sidewalk replacement. Work on West Huron Rd. will occur in 2019 and work on West Prospect Ave. will occur in 2020.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
I noticed today all the planters on Chester in front of the new Washkewicz building are just filled with weeds. So annoying.

Cool! I actually think the theater is a great idea and will be very popular. Like it or not, and true or not, the perception of Tower City is just not good outside of the film fest.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Looks great- and hope it can start soon as the condition of those buildings looks worse everyday. I just hope if they are putting in an AC they keep it fairly small... on top of that Hilton is supposed to put a Curio Hotel in 925 next door, tho now with the Millenia purchase I wonder if that changes? There is going to be a ton of new retail space coming online between this, Athletic Club, and 925. It is a concern to me if all of this can be filled? ...since a prime E. 9th/Euclid retail spot in the Schofield Hotel remains empty along with a couple other spots down E. 9th.

WOW what a great picture! If NuCleUs ever got built I believe it would block this view?

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
I asked Ohio City Inc. about it a few months ago and they were hoping that work would start soon. There was a lot of conflict with the developer who wanted a very large and very tall development that everyone else just didn’t feel was right for the location which led to a lot of back and forth. Hopefully they can compromise. Apparently the developer is pretty difficult to work with.

Cleveland: Downtown: 55 Public Square Renovation
This is a large enough building to warrant its own thread right? What a surprise to see this today! Seems like we are entering a nice new wave of projects. K&D strikes deal to buy 55 Public Square office tower, with mixed-use renovation plans "CLEVELAND, Ohio - The K&D Group, of one downtown's largest landlords, is taking on yet another center-city redevelopment project - the acquisition and renovation of a half-empty office tower on Public Square. K&D confirmed Wednesday that it has inked a deal to buy 55 Public Square, a 22-story tower northwest of the square. The purchase, at an undisclosed price, also will include a seven-story garage and the former John Q's Steakhouse space, which has been vacant for years. The sale is scheduled to occur within 75 days. The seller, an affiliate of Optima Ventures of Miami, Florida, paid $34 million for the complex in 2008. The Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office estimates that the property, in dire need of a makeover, is worth $20.7 million today." http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2018/05/kd_strikes_deal_to_buy_55_publ.html

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Perhaps this is the wrong place, but I was excited to see this on the Agenda: 2. Project: DF2018-034: The Statler Renovation * Renovation to an existing 14 story mixed use building including interior renovations, exterior improvements, lighting & signage. Project Address: 1127 Euclid Ave. Project Representative: Katie Gillette, City Architecture I think the Statler is sometimes overlooked but it is really quite a beautiful and significant, large building. Imagine it cleaned up and with some nice exterior lighting! As a future resident of the Halle building, my windows will face the Statler so I am all for this renovation ;)

Interestingly the picture no longer says "future mixed use", now it says Jack Parking

Side note- this picture made me realize that there is a new restaurant in the revolving door of a spot thats next to Subway... and it sounds like Desi101 is getting fantastic reviews! I love Indian food and am glad there is a good spot there- will have to try it out!

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
It’s pretty amazing when you can fly a drone and do those kind of maneuvers INSIDE a building and still have plenty of room. Cool stuff!

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Trying to imagine a fully restored, cleaned, lit up May Co. Building. So exciting to see this pressing forward. It would be no loss to take down the May Co. garage... I parked there once and it was terrible. Then when I saw the Bailey Building that used to stand in that spot I was even more furious! Maybe a long shot but wow would that be amazing if this project also got rid of that eyesore. In the meantime I will take a full active May Co. Building.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I find it amazing but not surprising that there is absolutely no mention of the Little Italy Rapid Station in these articles... https://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2018/05/street_resurfacing_will_snarl.html

Cleveland: Downtown: A.J. Celebrezze Federal Building Renovation
We've gone over this many times but does ANYONE know when they're going to finish their project? The building re-cladding is STILL NOT DONE. The upper portion facing east remains uncovered and is a huge eyesore.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Is there any actual substance or reality to their claim? How could they possibly accomplish this with the current state of our transit funding etc. ?
