  1. No reason given but everyone was surprised at the delay. Sorry I can't give more info
  2. A reliable source has told me construction probably won't begin until August...
  3. mrclifton88 replied to ryanlammi's post in a topic in Mass Transit
This is wonderful. I will take one in Cleveland please~
  4. They're open. Went a couple weeks ago, good beer and an amazing patio. I think this place will be getting verrrry popular this summer.
  5. Not that this is a deal breaker or anything, but they just opened a laser eye clinic in the base of the parking garage. I'm surprised they would do that if demolition was on the table. Unless it has come about after the fact.
  6. I think our shot at an iconic skyscraper will solely be coming from Sherwin Williams. But if MM could build something fairly substantial on the Hipp lot that is around the same height as the surrounding structures I think I would be happy... I guess we will have to be patient and see what MM announces! (I don't like being patient)
  7. Should we still prepare to be underwhelmed?
  8. I assume this means nothing and is just a routine project, but they also seem to be refinishing/polishing the gold entrance to the Rose Building on East Ninth.
  9. I thought this was quite interesting: http://www.cleveland.com/musicdance/index.ssf/2017/05/cleveland_orchestra_announces_28.html#incart_river_home The Cleveland Orchestra's Star Spangled Spectacular is moving back to Mall B this year. In 2015 the event was held there while Public Square was being renovated. I, along with many many others felt this location was absolutely perfect for the large scale event. I know a lot of people think the mall is just a boring huge stretch of grass but this event shows the potential. It isn't a knock on Public Square either, its just that something like this is perfectly suited for the Mall. Having it back in the Square last year was ok, but seating and sight-lines were tricky. I hope more large events like this can be hosted on the Malls. Public Square has done a great job with programming since its renovation. The Malls need the same.
  10. Those interiors are remarkable. I did notice that one bedroom apartments are starting around $1700+ at this building? That is pretty high. It seems we are pushing avg. rent Downtown upwards very quickly with these new projects. Some of the K&D re-habs have rents starting under 1,000 but I think those days are nearly behind us.
  11. I was told they've done some interior work in preparation but the full on construction has not begun yet.
  12. Wow... I did not expect infill there for a while. I am pleasantly surprised! I would think the demand for this kind of apartment living in Little Italy must be huge, as there is so little supply
  13. THAT is some cool looking infill. This area is going to be changing rapidly.
  14. I believe this is going to be all apartments
  15. The Vault returns in April as a bar/lounge and not a Nightclub: http://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2017/03/22/opening-soon-the-new-and-improved-vault-at-the-9
  16. First, I would have never thought the Federal Building was larger than Key Tower. Is that right?? Or am I missing something. I know we have discussed at length rumors from S-W but I have lost track. I thought at one time we had some insiders who said the Public Square Jacobs lot was not in their consideration for a new building. Of course, I know everything is a rumor at this point.
  17. Wow that last shot of the LC Bridge and the Guardians is so cool! I see how that would be impossible but cool nonethelesss :-D
  18. Anyone notice that around 5 of the new "historic" looking light poles that were installed onto the Lorain-Carnegie bridge are already broken? Just the pole remains, with wires hanging down and no light. So frustrating that things don't last. Wonder what happened?
  19. Here's my view from this morning!
  20. I had a work event hosted at PB recently and we were all really impressed with the food and their service. I was there again this weekend. It's really a fun place. I think people are really starting to discover it now as it was full! I've only had positive experiences
  21. Great thread! I like the unique things you captured. I grew up in Lodi, a little ways away in the central valley. California is an interesting place... there are beautiful and amazing places like Muir Woods and the coast, but nobody can afford to live in those areas. The "real" parts of California that are not as glamorous are not what people in Ohio think of. I still love to visit but don't miss living there!
  22. I agree...when the orchestra's Star Spangled Spectacular was held on the mall that to me showed its huge potential. I still think that event should be moved there permanently. The wide-open nature and slope of the Mall is perfect for very large scale events, much more-so than Public Square. Each space has its uses, but right now it seems everything is being forced on PS... There are many events like the SSS that are better on the mall.
  23. A vast improvement, especially with whatever dining area they have planned. I think the quality of the renderings are not great though, I would like to see more detail. Based on the location of the dining terrace, they must be planning to re-arrange the layout of the Marriott?
  24. Yea my first thought was how is that any better? In my opinion 55PS needs a huge overhaul itself. The outside glass looks dingy and tired and the inside needs help. The old John Qs continues to sit empty and the parking garage is crumbling, along with that ugly surface lot right in the middle of it all.
  25. I didn't know where to post this but it was exciting to me and makes me love Cleveland so why not here? Haha. At long last... Heinen's has lit up the Trust Rotunda! Via "Greg_is_downtown" on Instagram. It's a small thing but to me makes a hugggge difference to this key corner.
