  1. This is insane. And what the heck is the point of the planters in the way of the pathways?!?!
  2. Anyone happen to know anything more on this project? Like when they plan to finish!? Looking at the building today I really feel the building looks much worse post-renovation. On cloudy days the building looks so dreary and dirty. As you can see below. Unfortunately it is one of the most prominent buildings in our view from One Cleveland Center.
  3. Video seems to be removed. Can you tell us what it was?
  4. Very cool... and I like all the pops of color. That rooftop deck would be pretty amazing...
  5. I think this is a building that is going to look much better in reality than in the rendering. Its interesting and I like the use of color but there is something about it that just looks odd in a rendering. Nonetheless I am very excited this is moving forward! Now I wish we could get some height onto the SOUTH side of Euclid Ave...
  6. I think activity in Phase I and II will improve drastically in the net couple of years, as the quality establishments get stabilized and development continues down Old River Road. Then at that time Phase III would make sense. It seemed to me they were trying to jump the gun a bit.
  7. Looks nice, Dante and Thirsty Dog in themselves are a huge step up and will bring a lot more people to this area, not to mention Rascal Flats and Margaritaville. I think things are going to get much busier in the FEB.
  8. Wow that's a fascinating picture. I've never seen anything like that rendered next to the Renaissance except for the addition they proposed in the 90's. Very interesting.
  9. Not much going on yet aside from Yours Truly. K&D is finishing work on the Leader before they want to start on Halle. But they plan to significantly renovate the building including the lobby (while maintaining original features)
  10. According to Michelle's article today on NuCleUs, 515 will begin construction in mid-April. Her comment: "In response to an earlier question about the Beacon project (the planned apartment tower atop the 515 Euclid Ave. parking garage), Stark Enterprises now aims to start construction in mid-April."
  11. 7 Starbucks, actually... but as stated this is a unique brand of Starbucks :) It sounds like NuCleUS is going more for dining and entertainment than apparel/retail. It will be interesting to see what the ultimate list of tenants is, assuming this is a go, and also bringing in the fact that Gilbert supposedly is creating a plan for Tower City that should center around mid to high end retail.
  12. More NuCleUs news... "Cleveland Live! will anchor nuCLEus project retail; Shake Shack, HopCat, Starbucks Reserve sign on" http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2017/02/cleveland_live_will_anchor_nuc.html#incart_river_home
  13. I don't fully understand the connection between allowing busses through the square and the ice rink. People taking the bus will not be there to skate. They will be there to get on the bus. I agree that allowing busses will increase pedestrian activity but that is different than sightseers or people coming to skate or go to Rebol.
  14. ....and its ugly as heck. http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2017/01/cleveland_institute_of_art_com.html#incart_river_home Am I alone here? Haha, I am all for the project itself but this looks like a 1960's rehab, not a new build.
  15. As I was driving by the Garfield today I was surprised to see this decorative entryway going in!
  16. http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/downtown-cleveland-high-rise-redevelopment-clears-hurdle The new potential buyers want to bring in apartments and a "limited service Marriott" ...what is that? But sounds like the court drama is still dragging on
  17. http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/downtown-cleveland-high-rise-redevelopment-clears-hurdle According to this piece, construction could start in May
  18. You can also throw in the fact that potentially hundreds of people will be living around the square in a few years... The Standard Building, 75 Public Square, Terminal Tower, and the May Company building are all being or planned to become residential...
  19. During the summer Public Square was very popular even in the evenings. Obviously you are going to have less people during the winter, but I generally can see people throughout the days that are nicer skating. I feel like the pictures posted of a "always" ghost-town public square are a little manipulated...
  20. This is really going to be something... Cant wait to check it out. From street level you would have no idea what the inside looks like (as is with most of the old banks)
  21. Thanks for the update! I actually did not know about the premium membership so glad it was brought up, I am happy to help UO! Question: Will we ever get Tapatalk compatibility back? I sure miss it
  22. They will re-open. The space is being remodeled by K&D
  23. Superior and West 3rd i believe. The Renaissance Hotel is to the right, and you can barely see 75 Public Square from behind the buildings that are now a parking lot.
  24. K&D has nothing to do with this, they are finishing the Leader Building and then moving on to the Halle. The Standard Building is all Weston
  25. I think this was discussed upthread. There was another building planned at one time but never happened. The other building that sits in between the church and the Standard is the offices for the church. And at one time there were windows down the center, as you can see here:
