  1. Alright! Finally got photo evidence. There is actually a strip of windows all the way down the western side of the Public Square face of the building. Wonder if they plan to do more? How much of the back wall is taken up with the elevators/stairs (I always understood that they were on the back of the building, therefore why they couldn't add windows to the whole wall)?
  2. I noticed yesterday what appeared to be a window punched into the western end of the back (Public Square side) of the Standard Building. I couldn't get a picture... Anyone notice this?
  3. I wasn't sure where to put this... but finally something will go into the Casino garage/welcome center building storefront... Now maybe we can fill in the hole where the Stanley was!? "Wahlburgers restaurant coming to downtown Cleveland" http://www.cleveland19.com/story/34040122/wahlburgers-cleveland
  4. I hope this leads to some sort of renovation. This corner is such an eyesore.
  5. Great news, Thirsty Dog will be a draw in itself with its first Cleveland outpost and I assume Dante's Inferno will be similar as the one in Progressive Field; casual Italian from Dante Boccuzzi (of Dante in Tremont).
  6. I wouldnt put too much into that article, yet... there are a few things in there that aren't totally accurate.
  7. And this follows the Red Line shutdown Wednesday into the airport. I'd like to know why the rail line keeps shutting down and who is responsible. More importantly, I'd like to know if GCRTA will reconsider the offer by Siemens to take over the rail system and bring it up to a state of good repair, including infrastructure and rolling stock. Word is that Joe Calabrese refused to consider Siemens' proposal because he didn't want to relinquish control over hiring and firing in the rail division. If true, then disgusting. Absolutely appalling the way RTA is run.
  8. This will be great... I am a big fan of Heck's but working downtown sometimes going to Ohio City for lunch is a bit much. Wonder what the "National fast food chain" is coming next door? MY bet is Chick-fil-a.
  9. I had posted it a while ago but from what I knew as of a couple months ago, the plan was to remove the food court, renovate the theater into a high-end theater and refocus the retail to a more "high end" array of stores. I don't think we're talking Gucci and Fendi like when TC opened but very different than what you have now. Unfortunately I haven't heard anything lately... I really want to know too!
  10. I think it will liven things up. The "Cleveland" script signs are amazingly popular. I did some photography for a coworker at Edgewater a few Saturdays ago and was amazed at the LINE of people waiting to take their pictures by the sign all morning.
  11. I think they're testing different areas of downtown to see where they get the most traffic but I think they're definitely planning a downtown location in the near future. I would be surprised if it was Tower City based on what I've heard of the plans for the remodel, but you never know.

Despite the loss, Cleveland looked fantastic during game 7 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My pain is fading... but I still can't watch anything from the game, especially the Davis homer. That hurts... oh what could've been! But I think next year is going to be one great season as well, and judging by what I am hearing from people, the attendance problem should finally be much improved. I think Clevelanders are really excited to watch this team try this again and now this has become a team that we feel like we have come to know so well. I think things are going to be very different. It's going to be very interesting to see what happens, I am already counting down to opening day. Didn't realize how much I'd miss baseball until it was over!
  14. THIS is good news. That building is looking rough and that current parking garage is AWFUL.
  15. If that has to be built, I guess that spot isn't so bad. Especially with the Great Parking Lot Sea hopefully going away in the next few years.
  16. What a neat thread! Thanks for posting. Gives a nice perspective that despite the dire straits RTA is in, its still a great system for a metro of this size. Hopefully things will get better
  17. That makes sense. Hope they can make that work as a public space again because the space itself is really unique. Maybe less "clubby" more just bar/lounge. Thanks for the info!
  18. I am trying to plan an event for my company and was in touch with someone at the 9 and to my surprise she said Vault is no longer open to the public and no longer a nightclub but just being used for private events. I found that very odd That was part of the huge hype when that place opened. Anyone know what happened there?
  19. ^i agree with you there. Hope I didn't disappoint you too badly... lol I know it's a small thing but we've been talking about that stupid cornice being covered up for as long as I've been on this thread like nine years ago! Baby steps
  20. Guys... I think, I THINK something exciting is about to happen. Noticed scaffolding up over the sidewalk under the Bulkley Building tonight and evidence of some rigging up top. Could this be at long last the restoration of the cornice?!

Any idea when Tapatalk support will be back?
  22. Now THAT i like! Awesome addition, we need more places like that which can appeal to everyone... especially all the picky people I work with haha
  23. My company has done some volunteering at St Malachi and this intersection has always been pretty depressing. This is going to be a welcome change... can't wait to see the holes start to be filled in. One question... slightly off topic... what is the deal with Massimo da Milano? The reviews online are absolutely horrendous. How is this place still there?
  24. Bam! Sure makes the rest of those lots look even more awful... Maybe one day this view will improve :|
  25. I've never closely looked at this thread but the development proposed is quite impressive. Glad to see it. The thing that blew me away visiting Detroit for the first time a couple years ago was the wealth of 1920's era high rises, some completely empty. Just jaw dropping architecture I would kill to have in Cleveland! Despite all that though, It made me appreciate the condition Cleveland is in today. Detroit has a long way to go but the potential is unmatched in the region. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
