  1. Interesting pics, thanks for sharing! I was in Nashville recently and while there were cool areas and interesting things to see, overall it just wasn't my kind of city. Areas like The Gulch next to downtown are nothing but brand new infill and tons of new glass apartment towers. Housing prices were astronomical. While I'm jealous of the amount of new construction they have going on, it kind of reminded me of Charlotte NC in that it all feels kind of soulless. Not much in the way of any "historic" fabric left in those areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Lucky? Most people believe the Brand is tired and needs a refresh. Just a general question, who here would look at a R-C first, if Going Luxury? Park Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, and Four Season knock it out the park. The Peninsula, Fairmont & Waldorf brands may be fight to keep with Marriott. "Just a general question, who here would look at a R-C first, if Going Luxury?" That depends. Based on my income? Or yours? [emoji12] I don't disagree with what you said, I just meant since we do have the only Ritz, I'm happy for it to be refreshed and re-energized instead of just a worn-out "casino hotel". And I hope it is a sign of positive change for Tower City. But hey- if we could snag one of those other luxury flags I'm all for it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Glad to see them focusing on their own brand rather than the casino. We are very lucky to have the only Ritz in Ohio ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What's this all about? The old restaurant space attached to the Ritz. The Hideaway? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. This thread is really amazing. Unbelievable the amount of development. And just slightly depressing. -Jealous in Cleveland :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I wonder if the issues with the Flats location are a factor. While it seems to always be crowded, the reviews are mostly terrible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well now waterfront line service is down. This is ridiculous Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Excited for that! Hopefully it's good. Downtown doesn't have much in the way of Mexican other than Zocalo (no thanks- too many bad experiences) and now Nuevo (still working out the kinks). It'll be nice to get some variety in PHS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The final renderings definitely had some issues to me but I have to say the street presence of this is surprisingly impressive... and I am very surprised how large the building is: it is highly visible from even the 30th floor of One Cleveland Center. I'll have to get a picture of that view. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Could they not do late-night service just on game-nights?
  11. Well you know this is going to get very confusing.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Wow... those floor to ceiling windows are amazing. Totally different level of product than anything else you can get downtown right now. And as a bonus, apparently if you live on the balcony level you can see the Empire State Building ;)
  13. Wow those are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Great news. Such an eye sore. Finally the last pieces in completing Euclid from PHS to Public Square seem to have come together. Hope this means work can start soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Especially with all the people coming downtown just to see and visit Public Square. It will be nice to have a casual place open late (hopefully?) nearby.
  16. Not gonna happen. A Cleveland.com article quoted a company rep as saying they'll be open by the end of the year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/08/zack_bruell_sells_kafeteria_in.html Anyone hear about this? I've always liked Kafeteria. Disappointing. Wonder what this means? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Is this in reference to Terminal Tower, or is there something else planned at Tower City that I missed? Terminal Tower. Not sure if anything additional is planned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I was thinking the Arcade should be jumping to land any quality retail displaced from Tower City... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. A few fun tidbits to hold us over for real announcements: The Ritz Carlton has been in the planning stages for years to renovate. They were ready a year or so ago to go ahead with an exterior renovation which was posted about here. That was all put on hold during the Gilbert acquisition. It sounds like the renovation might now be interior and exterior. I don't have much info on this but at various times the RC has thought of re-evaluating its street level space that is no longer used. At one time the renovation involved swapping the locations of Muse and the front desk lobby. But they also have the entire Century restaurant space. This could all be an exciting part of the Tower City renovation. From what I'm hearing about TC itself... Food court goes. Theater stays and is overhauled into a high end theater (along the lines of recliners, bar, dinner service etc.). Also the goal is high end retail. Bringing it back to how it started. I'm a little concerned about how this could all work especially with Nucleus also competing for the same retailers but it's exciting nonetheless. Finally the residential component will be very high end and very expensive. Definitely at or near the top of what downtown rents currently are at. All of this information comes from various reliable sources, but of course it's all just speculation until official word is made. But I'm confident enough in it that I thought I would share to give us something to talk about until announcements are made! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The Crop restaurants aside from Crop Bistro never impressed me. Food was ok and service was mediocre. They never seemed busy. It also seems like the concepts were not very well thought out and executed. FlipSide however is worrisome. I really like FlipSide and have always had good food and service at the downtown location. I hope that rumor isn't true. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Not surprised. It seemed like none of these concepts were able to capture the success of Crop Bistro. It's too bad but they obviously had issues. I look forward to what will replace them. Those are large prominent spaces to fill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Very interesting and unique architecture! Great tour
  24. Yea that's definitely new... They also had some kind of Italian restaurant from LockKeepers in the plan for the ground floor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
