  2. I thought maybe this could go here. The hideous Lincoln Building (even uglier now with the Westin AND Drury open) now has plywood/plexiglass storefronts going in on two sides. What the heck is this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thank you Mr. Geis Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. LOL @ NuCleUs being completed early 2017. That will be the fastest a 54 story building has ever been built! :)
  5. Am I the only one who thought the design of the light-stands might have drawn inspiration from the Great Lakes Exposition? Maybe I'm looking too hard into this :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Wow... there is a lot to take in there. The renderings look quite nice but disappointing that the Amtrak station seems to remain "as-is" for this?
  7. It's been so long that I can't remember: where were the bus stops moved to when public square was closed? I suppose they were dispersed around the square, I'm just trying to envision which ones will be removed and relocated back to the center of the square. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Masthead Brewing Co. sets fall opening in downtown Cleveland http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/05/masthead_brewing_co_sets_fall.html Speaking of breweries... I think this was mentioned on UO a short time ago but here is the official article. I think this looks great! A good step in helping that feeling that downtown drops off after East 12th.
  9. Whatever your thoughts on Drury I am really impressed by how great this looks. New landscaping and lights going in today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Construction fencing is down. Sidewalks are being put back in and landscaping has begun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I apologize if this is a repeat posting but I don't thinK i saw anyone post this on UO: "Tower at Erieview owner considers apartment plan" http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20160508/NEWS/160509846/tower-at-erieview-owner-considers-apartment-plan
  12. No Jeff Rubys for us. The deal is dead. http://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2016/05/06/jeff-rubys-steakhouse-deal-is-dead-says-landlord Weird Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. To be fair their current downtown lineup isn't really targeting the very high end market that say The 9 or the Schofield are. I've toured their new buildings and they are definitely targeting the entry to mid level range. This project I feel will be quite different than anything else they've done. While I have no information right now, they (K&D) are very excited about this project. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. No, that would never happen here!! Terminal Tower? ? ? ? I was just thinking that you predicted it! Haha it makes sense based on what I was told but I never thought TT was an option. This is truly a surprise but combined with the impending Tower City redo it's exciting. I understand the hesitation from some but this is only a partial Conversion. Much of the tower will remain offices.
  15. Wow. I reported on this a while back. k&D told me they were about to close on an iconic building but I really didn't expect this. Wow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm in Indianapolis on business and missed the whole game. Watching the replay :) what a game... I don't want to get ahead of ourselves but this team is clicking like I never expected. What a great time to be a Cavs fan!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Updated logos and descriptions/hours for hotel dining. Looking good!
  18. I know! I've been looking down at it everyday. They literally JUST finished the driveway and opened. Quite a speedy timeline. The landscaping is totally incomplete but that seems to be next. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. So... I was really surprised to see the hotel opens today!! Clearly it isn't done, but done enough. Check it out: http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2016/04/drury_plaza_hotel_opens_in_the.html#incart_gallery
  20. Changing the subject. Now that we are nearing the completion of Public Square, a lot of key factors may soon change the pedestrian activity around all sides. Tower City could be undergoing a transformation with Dan Gilbert's purchase, the Renaissance Hotel will soon undergo a renovation and hopefully it's long vacant street level retail will be reactivated. 200 Public Square is undergoing a renovation and will have street level engagement with the soon to open Ruth Chris steakhouse. To me the wild cards are: 1. The empty lot. 2. The May Co. building. 3. 55 Public Square and the old John Qs steakhouse. Other than that, Key Tower and the Society building aren't changing. I think we're going to see a great increase in activity all around the square. One question: does anyone know the status of 75 Public Squares renovation? This one seems to have gone silent, unless I missed it. Perhaps Millenia is focused on the Garfield building first. But 75 PS was to include an Italian restaurant from LockKeepers. Another plus. Along with that, the Standard Building is nearby and is undergoing renovation. Perhaps the blank wall facing Public Square will be changed as well. There is a lot of positivity surrounding the upcoming reopening of the square. Let's focus on that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Trees!!!! Now how long do you think they'll live... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im from California so I can say having lived in Cleveland for 8 years, I have never been jealous of LA. But this makes me jealous. Haha
  23. It will be interesting to see how the Orchestra's 4th of July performance (though being held much later this year) works on Public Square. When it was held on the mall, I think it really showed the potential of the space. Everyone in attendance seemed to absolutely love having the concert on the Mall (which wouldn't be possible if the entire mall was landscaped or filled with sculpture, etc.), and it really was a perfect location to me. When large events are held on the Mall like the orchestra's concert and the interactive light show they did at the Gay Games you realize what a great space it is. I guess they just need to figure out how to utilize it better outside of the occasional large scale events.
  24. Wow these old pictures are equal parts amazing and painful. That last shot... the more I see of what was lost to make room for 200 Public Square the more I wish it was built somewhere else. :( What was the building called immediately to the west of the Arcade?
  25. Still pretty boring but the Holiday Inn building actually looks better than I thought in those pictures. The tinted glass helps!
