Cleveland: Historic Photos
Wow. Really cool pictures but even more depressing. I didn't realize the Hipp building was so large ... :(

Amazing... I think I'm looking at this right but is that 668 on the far right? If so it looks very different than what they restored it do today.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
And they're OFF! ;) Haha this will definitely create some fun conversation here. But hopefully we find out sooner rather than later... I do have a question: Is there any possibility that the surface lot on Euclid Avenue in between the City Club and 668 could support one of these potential future high-rises? Or is it too small? Obviously the Public Square lot is the most desirable for the next large tower, but that is one of the only surface lots on the main stretch of Euclid Avenue left. I wonder how long it will remain so.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Well I guess I have my answer haha: http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/03/clevelands_ritz-carlton_hotel.html#incart_river_home "Ritz-Carlton Cleveland, offices set for "significant renovations" as ownership entity shifts"

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
So correct me if I'm wrong but this means the casino no longer owns the Ritz? So no more room comps? I have a contact at the Ritz and they've been planning a very extensive remodel/renovation project for the interior and exterior of the hotel. It keeps getting delayed, and perhaps this is why.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
GUYS just to clarify, I originally posted about the renovation of the PLAZA which was announced today and will start soon. The Walk of Fame is already in place and over! The idea as far as I know has been abandoned. Thanks

They actually did this on Lakeside in front of Public Hall as a phase 1. The records apparently did not hold up well in the winter and I'm pretty sure they have decided not to continue this

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
I would rather have a mixed use expansion of Tower City and heavy residential development than a casino. It can have room for entertainment and shows connected to the casino but i don't think the gambling focus is the answer. Tower City really is the next step here, if a major renovation and reorganization/expansion could materialize, it would be a game changer.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Wow I thought that video was just something funny someone posted here... and then i went back and watched it and realized it was actual real promotional material. WOW. Can we just close the whole thing and turn it back into a department store? Is it too late for that option? :)

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Yes, they did repair the side facing the union club after some storm damage I believe but it still looks terrible. I found this from 1968. Hard to believe it could be the same building. I don't know that anything still exists beneath the current facade.

Just got an alert: Casino will be renamed JACK Cleveland Casino ??? weird

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Such an ugly building now. Wish they could renovate... or at least fix the side facing the Union Club. It looks awful.

The Horseshoe Cleveland tweeted this and I've seen this logo elsewhere. Aren't they supposed to be dropping the Horseshoe brand soon? Wasn't sure if this was related to anything? Or just a standard advertisement.

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
KJP, Whom exactly would be best to contact in regards to this? I think everyone here feels pretty strongly about this.

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
Does anyone else feel like we were on a high for a few months with a slew of great development news and progress... And then the last week or two seem to be disappointing and depressing. This is one of those moments. We can't seem to get ahead here.

Cleveland: Retail News
It's Heinens. They are probably more interested in a calmer ambience indoors than the perception from outside. Plus they are constrained by the architecture of a former bank, as you say. I think the heavy foot traffic in and out might help draw people in. They have some signage, but they are probably pretty restricted as far as what they can do. I do think some facade lighting at night would really help. I think that was in the original plan and I am really disappointed they haven't added any yet. The Schofield corner will be wonderfully lit at night, I wish that Heinens would follow suit.

How the heck does this go from "he has national retailers already committed" to this is a no go so quickly. More clarity please

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
The mall has definite potential. The last "Star Spangled Spectacular" the Cleveland Orchestra did showed what an awesome place the mall can potentially be. With the new hotels and more big events like that it will only get better.

Will someone just steal all the artificial plants in front of the Rock Hall? It might be the only way to get rid of them :)

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
I always liked that concept. Was that tower specifically for Sherwin Williams at the time ?

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I read somewhere that as soon as the retail conference is over the names can be announced. Supposedly he already has some national tenants lined up

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Is Le Meridien out of the picture for good? Or would they be able to work with new owners? Also this is the last building to the east. Did this building have any significance architecturally? Was it covered up a la Schofield? Or is it more modern.
