  1. That is a surprise. I didn't know that was part of the renovation but I think it's going to look really cool when it's done
  2. Agggghhhhhh that parking lot is burning my eyes!
  3. As promised, here comes a BUNCH of pictures. Hopefully this isnt too much to post in this thread! I went to Alley Cat yesterday evening and then checked out the progress on the whole development. It is still very much a contruction zone, actually more than I was expecting, but it is impressive no question. Alley Cat, on a seperate note, was fantastic, even though they have only been open a week. The food, drinks, service and VIEWS were absolutely perfect. I think this place is going to be the next big thing in Cleveland... and by the time I left around 7, it was completely packed! Good signs. So here we go: Entering the FEB Development. Notice the huge ship in the distance! It was one of many to pass by in only an hour and a half Valet Zone near Alley Cat. They have not landscaped much of the development so keep that in mind. The sun was not cooperating with me and so expect some lens flares and discoloration... but you get the idea! The lower patio at Alley Cat, empty when we got there, PACKED when we left That is a TIGHT turn! Lower patio from the upper patio, which isnt open yet but is even bigger than the lower one. The huge gap between Alley Cat and FWD looks odd now but maybe that is because there isnt any grass yet. We will see how it looks later... Loved the streetlights Alley Cat interior Upper level space, I think for events and parties, etc. Boardwalk Flip Side The End! Hope that wasnt too crazy, and i left out a LOT, trust me! :-D
  4. By the way. I guess this would be posted here? Saw this on Twitter: plans for the new water taxi
  5. Im going to check out the area tomorrow and will post pictures! Alley Cat is open for dinner currently and will soon start lunch. FWD is open as well. Not sure about the rest but I will update!
  6. I think Pugu might be referring to One Cleveland Center which was originally built for Medical Mutual
  7. you mean for retail? I don't think so but I just noticed today that it was open air. They removed the walls.
  8. Just walked by there today. While it's still just a garage... It's a vast improvement over the crumbling original structure. They also have opened up the bottom level so it's not so imposing. Now if they just re-pave the sidewalk when they're done it'll be fine!
  9. Well the door being open is a positive sign... :)
  10. That's awesome. That side of Euclid Ave. is quickly filling up... Heinen's, Geigers etc
  11. Now this is good marketing! Haha :)
  12. This was very interesting: http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2015/07/ornament_is_king_not_a_crime_i.html#incart_river I had no idea the State Theater and Lobby were being renovated as well! Should be beautiful when finished.
  13. It would be nice to see one standard fixture instead of the 50 different kinds of streetlights we have downtown :)
  14. Looks like the new plan for the parking and landscaping behind the West Side Market.
  15. Are they proposing a parking lot? I know that was proposed previously but with the change in ownership I thought maybe they would either repurpose or build something. Very disappointing if that's what the plan is. It's in the slide entitled "proposed site context"
  16. Hey that's the only new action I've seen since the sidewalk scaffolding went up! A good sign
  17. I like that they are returning to downtown instead of back to the suburbs. That's a great sign. Amazing how many steakhouses we have but I have no doubt this will be a big success and awesome to continue to activate the public square area and Superior.
  18. I'll have to get some new pictures but it looks like they've started some of the concrete strips outlining the "butterfly" shape of the north section.
  19. Awesome! Between this and Pizza 216 on the Euclid side the Arcade is showing signs of life.
  20. Another restaurant is opening in the old One Walnut space in the Ohio Savings Plaza building. Most recently this was Table 9. The new place will be called "Cest La Vie Restaurant and Lounge" ... We will see!
  21. There was a published article on Crains not that long ago that speculated entities related to Dan Gilbert were purchasing the mall yet nothing ever came of it.
  22. From this article on Crain's (http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20150713/BLOGS14/150719949/columbus-roads-resurgence-gains-a-professional-firms-office) re. the Spaghetti House building: More movement on East Ninth Street The sphere of influence of Geis Cos. on East Ninth Street in downtown Cleveland has taken a step farther south. The Streetsboro-based builders and developers recently assumed management of The New York Spaghetti House, a one-time landmark restaurant at 2173 E. Ninth St. and the parking lot next door to it, a prized location near Progressive Field. The properties abut the south side of the garage on East Ninth that serves Geis’ The 9, the mixed-use office, hotel, apartment and retail complex between Euclid and Prospect Avenues. Asked what Geis’ plans are for the property, Greg Geis had a surprising answer in an email. “Just the property manager,” Greg Geis wrote, adding in a subsequent email that neither he nor brother Fred Geis has an ownership stake in Spaghetti House. The answer was a surprise, as Downtown Investment Group LLC lists to the family-owned development and construction concern’s address in Streetsboro, where tax bills will also be sent. Greg Geis said he does not know of plans for the long-empty building. He did not respond to question’s about the identity of the client. The seller was R. House Cleveland LLC, a real estate company led by Rascal House owner-operators Michael and Fouly Frangos, who acquired it last year. Though things changed a lot on East Ninth Street since 2014, nothing significant changed at this property. Neither did the sale price: Downtown Investment Group paid $1.5 million, the same figure R. House paid, according to Cuyahoga County land records.

I was there last weekend and was impressed too. There was trash and debris on the dog beach part but the trails and the main beach were very clean and it was also very vibrant.
  24. That piece makes it sound like they are building on top of Voinivich Park.... Haha well if anything sounds like we should be getting some updates in the next couple weeks. I like the speed at which Pace wants to start this.
