Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
There was a set of pictures a while back that had a red-based scheme that looked very dated. This is much better. I like the blue scheme

Cleveland - Scranton Road Towpath Trail
Saturday (March 21) I took a tour of the new Scranton Road Towpath Trail with a guide from the Metroparks. It was very interesting despite being 20 degrees colder than forecast with fog and wind... cant wait to return in the summer. I don't go into the flats very often so seeing all the old abandon buildings was fascinating. There is SO much potential. I hope between the Towpath, the Lake Link trail, and the Canal Basin park, along with Rivergate and the new development on the East Bank that some of those old structures (many of which I never knew existed) will be saved. Would love to know who/how this was done on the underside of the Loraine Carnegie Bridge Can anyone tell me what this building is?? So neat Also the brick structures in the background... so much potential One building that IS in use is one I never knew existed. This firehouse is home to the fireboat. The bridge by the firehouse is no longer in use but it is too expensive/difficult to remove it. A little scary to stand under the huge counterweights.

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
Very thorough, thanks KJP. Can you please take over and run RTA!? :). Hopefully the powers that be take note of all the work you do and for once make the smart choice to prepare for the future of our rail system.

Cleveland: Retail News
True... Nonetheless good news for legacy. They needed a draw like this. Especially since this is the only one in Ohio. Here is a nice article from Yahoo highlighting reasons why they picked this area. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/l-l-bean-sets-camp-165727182.html

L. L. Bean will open their first Ohio store in Legacy Village http://www.wkyc.com/story/news/local/northeast-ohio/2015/03/19/ll-bean-to-open-first-ohio-store-at-legacy-village/25026969/ This should be a big deal especially since Bean Boots are a ridiculously popular trend right now. They can't keep them in stock

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
I hope this is more than a gimmick. That place looks terrible. They need a major renovation. And most of the retail spaces are vacant.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Wow! I had no idea this was being pursued. When I see some of the amazing architecture in CLE I always think, it would cost a fortune to do something like this today... Not to mention it is going to require an astonishing amount of work. This isn't a restoration, this is a recreation. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Wandering West Part VI: Sacramento, CA
Nice pictures! I grew up less than 45 minutes south of Sacramento and lived there until I was 18 until moving to Cleveland. I never thought of Sacramento as a "city" in the sense of going downtown or anything... it was basically the place you drove through to get to the airport and saw a couple tall buildings. That or going to the "big mall" with a Nordstrom (which isn't even in downtown) :P There are some neat areas and I think there is a lot of potential, but it definitely never felt like the capitol of California. There used to be an open air downtown shopping mall that was very nice when I was young, but sadly it went downhill rapidly over the last few years and I believe was finally shut down and demolished since I left. If you want to see a real Chinatown drive west a couple hours to San Francisco ;)

Cleveland: Natural History Museum Renovation and Expansion
This is really impressive... Way beyond any of the renderings we had seen previously. I think it's going to be great!

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Huge improvement. The Euclid side was basically a huge dead wall. This is a great improvement to that!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
This actually sounds pretty cool... At least it makes the terminus of the bridge more interesting.

Cleveland: Downtown: Millennia's Garfield Bldg & HQ Developments
Is there a better group of people than those of Urban Ohio!? :):) great work Dave68. I think this looks great, especially when you look at how lifeless it is today.

Cleveland: Downtown: Millennia's Garfield Bldg & HQ Developments
I'd like to see someone photoshop the base detail in the rendering together with the actual detail above the base. (I don't have it or I'd do it :() I like what they have in mind for the base... It just looks off because they rendered it with the top missing. There's NO way they would remove anything to the top. That's one of the most beautiful and interesting facades in downtown.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Always sad to see a long time business go, but the new Jack Flaps hours are exciting. Between that and Barrio, the 5th Street Arcades should liven up! http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2015/01/27/pjs-luncheonette-to-close-after-30-years-jack-flaps-to-expand-brand-to-downtown

Cleveland - Architectural Lighting discussion
They no longer light up PNC tower either... Too bad. I know there are reasons but it makes such a difference on the skyline. I'm sure NuCleUs will be well lit!

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
I still don't quite understand why every article has a tone of this project being an impending business disaster waiting to happen... It might be the first urban Heinen's but isn't really the first urban grocery store in Cleveland and certainly not in the US. Why is this so shocking?

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Sounds and looks awesome. I think it will be a great addition year round but looks like an outstanding summer destination!

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
This is interesting, there's been no news on Zack Bruell opening at FEB so this is a surprise. Whether you're a fan or not his restaurants are always well run so I'm sure this will be successful. A good draw for his regular clientele for sure and brings some diversity to the dining collection in FEB
