Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
. That sucks. It's been around for so long, and always a line at lunch! I wonder what happened. Now the arcade is REALLY going to be deserted....

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I wouldn't worry about this becoming the new icon of Cleveland... It will be the cool new building but Terminal Tower is more symbolic. Look at Key Tower, our tallest building, while important is hardly as featured as the TT. I think if this really gets off the ground and is a success it's going to be amazing and will prompt more new construction around downtown.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
I really do not think they will have any trouble bringing in business... But I would strongly suggest they alter their hours at this location. Open early and stay open late, especially in the warmer months, people are always looking for a place to stop in for a coffee or dessert. This would be a great option

Is anyone using the newly updated Tapatalk? Is it just me or is it awful? Lol I'm not sure if I'm just not used to it but it seems to be a super confusing downgrade over the last version

Just an interesting tidbit, the signs on Heinen's say Equal Exchange Espresso Bar. The only other one of these in the country is Seattle, along with an Equal Exchange Cafe in Boston. Neat! http://equalexchange.coop/about/our-cafes

Downtown Cleveland Parking Lots
I found this shocking... Some screenshots of the Gateway area before Gateway (and Key Tower) from around 1989/90. I know we have a parking lot problem now but WOW this was horrendous!!!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
This is the one place I do agree needs a drastic solution because there is a parking problem. Either a garage or a redo of that surface lot needs to happen ASAP.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
So I got to take a closer look today and not only do they have the Schofield and 1901 panels going up, but two on the corner that depict what I think is the soldiers and sailors monument (which Schofield built). Not the best pics but I only had my phone

Everyone! Sloooow down, I said in my comment that the rendering in the article is for a tower in Houston. Google Market Place Tower Houston ;)

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
http://www.freshwatercleveland.com/features/keyconnections120614.aspx Within the article it is stated that the residential tower for Nucleus will be 550 feet tall. The rendering in the article though is from a residential tower planned for Houston... not sure why they used that.

Before & After: Ohio Cities
As much as i know was lost in Cleveland, I was surprised to see that overall it was one of the more un-changed looking cities. Some of the others are just awful...

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
Close the casino and put a department store back in Higbees. :)

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
I hope they have some architectural lighting on the outside to show all this facade detail ...

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
Some new pieces on the Schofield ... Looks like they're putting the year 1901 (I believe that's when it was built ?) on the E. 9th face. Was that an original detail?? Also more detail on the cornice.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Not a huge deal but I feel like the paninis had a way better design that this place...
-
Cleveland: Edgewater Park
So with this project to build a new bathhouse I wonder to what extent they are looking at the original? The RFQ does mention the historical context of the site. It would probably be outrageously expensive to build something to the same scale but a smaller version would be cool...

So many cars and people! That is amazing to see

ColDay2014: Detoronto
Detroit has some of the most amazing architecture in some of the worst conditions. So sad. What I wouldn't give for some of those old skyscrapers here in Cleveland!!!

Cleveland: Downtown: Drury Plaza Hotel Development
... Heat and serve??? What is that? I feel like this is such a grand building that it deserves a great restaurant and bar.

Cleveland: Downtown: Drury Plaza Hotel Development
There is some work at the site throughout the week but a lot of work at the parking garage on Rockwell that is going to be for the hotel.

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
I think what he meant was they got the land before the announcements were made. Trying to do so afterwards would've been much more difficult because the value of those parcels as parking shot up. I think...

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I'm glad the planning commission agreed upon this now... But I wish some of the "parking garages taking up entire streets" could be changed with new development. For example the block bound by E. 9th, Walnut, Superior and E. 12th is such a waste. 1717 will activate the E. 9th side but what a shame those huge swaths of parking garages still will be there.
